Did anyone else see the girl in 513/514 that needed the medical attention early in the game? BOMBED...They had to carry her down on the stretcher and she obviously had no idea where she was. Just curious...she seemed to be on her own. How does a so called "friend" let their other "friend" have that happen to them and then leave her sitting on her own...and...I'm no saint but drinking/tailgate is all good but the money for tickets, etc. is it worth not remembering the day/game/getting taken out of the stadium on a stretcher???? Sorry about the non-football topic but that troubled me yesterday.

We were going back to the tailgate lot last night, lot J, and these 2 girls were walking arm and arm and the one gets her flip flop caught in the railroad track and face plants herself, lays in the middle of the tracks laughing, her friend pulls her up and they stagger into the police officer directing traffic, smart mouth him and stagger on their way. The poor cop just shook his head and said he could not imagine people getting themselves that drunk in public.

he should've cited them for public drunkedness then. Mess with the cops and you should be outta there.

You'd have to cite 3/4 of the people leaving the stadium then. City cops have to choose when to pick their battles. One drunken girl is not worth the trouble.

I really don't understand the mentality some people have of getting so drunk they don't even remember the game.
I know it will never happen, but I would have no problem if beer sales were prohibited during games. You have plenty of time to get your beer during your tailgate party. In fact, for those of us who like to drink before the game, a "dry" game gives us time to get a clear head before heading home that evening.
Colleges have been doing it this way for decades, and the fans at those games tend to be entirely less hostile (and more conscious) than those at pro games.

Would you also have no problem when the Ravens raise ticket prices to make up for the lost concession money from beer sales?

I'm on the other side of the stadium in section 543 and there was a girl being taken out on a stretcher. She was completely and totally out cold. I looked at a guy next to me and said "she must be really tired". We both laughed, but also could not believe how drunk people will get in public.

There was a guy in our bathroom throwing up all over...I guess its the first time some of the fans drink.

I am actually friends with the girl who had to be taken out of the game on the stretcher. It was an unfortunate situation that basically boiled down to drinking WAY too much at the tailgate that morning. I was not there, and apparently no one was paying close enough attention to realize that she had drank so much beforehand.
In case anyone's curious, she spent a majority of the day at the hospital but has just about completely recovered today. She has also sworn off of alcohol indefinitely, and is seeking treatment as a result of yesterday's ordeal. She was lucky that she didn't do serious damage to herself, and she realizes it.

I couldn't imagine drinking that much at a football game. I'll drink beer while tailgating, but I'm there to see the game. I'll get a buzz going and have maybe 2 beers inside the stadium. Hopefully that girl will be ok, and get help if she needs it.

I saw it as I sit in 513. Unfortunate to ruin a great game like that by drinking too much. I am glad she is getting help. I love alcohol and could never give it up, but then again I have never been and never plan on being as drunk as she was.

I saw a drunk guy trip coming down the stairs, stumble a few times then face plant into the concrete up around section 551. His friend was laughing at picked him up, I think he was so drunk he didn't even feel it.

If she had simply drank beer, she probably would've been fine. But her drink of choice was Red Bull and Vodka, and too many of those can put even the heaviest of drinkers on their ass.

These college aged kids were tailgating next to us, and not 2hrs in one of them pukes right there in the lot...then we go to our seats, and guess who comes down to our aisle, him and his friend are sitting in our section.
I drive the tailgate vehicle so i drink during the tailgate only, then save myself from buying the $8 beers during the game. Occasionally ill have one or two during the game but usually its just a $4 water.

I'm glad she's OK. What people don't realize is drinking heavily in that heat and bright sunshine can also dehydrate and mess you up more even more. I sure did not go to the game expecting sunburn on a day that had a 60% chance of rain

Oh man, I must have missed it. I'm in 515 and didn't catch it. We did have about 12 cops come up our section to throw someone out Sunday, but that was about it.

I too will never understand why people drink that much.
I'm a college student and I refrain from drinking so much that I puke. It's amazing how many people in my age group can't control themsevles in terms of drinking.
Especially at a Ravens game. Everyone gets a little drunk at tailgates, but to be puking? Wow. Kinda takes the fun out of the game itself.

Red Bull + vodka is a recipe for disaster since the Red Bull simply energizes you and therefore consume more. Or so I've heard, not a fan of Red Bull.
I've gone to a bunch of college games at MD and Virginia Tech. At VT, people sneak miniature whiskey bottles inside. The concessions there even serve sodas in plastic bottles with cups of ice on the side-think they know there's a little mixing going on?
This would probably happen at Ravens games should they decide to limit alcohol sales. You'd think the search people out front would have not let her enter if she was that inebriated.
I'm glad to hear that she's alright and getting treatment.

In section 534 there were these 2 couple's that came in at 12:30 completely trashed. By 2:30 they got into a huge fight, with one guy claiming his buddy touched his woman improperly, the cops break it up and take them away. A half hour later all 4 are back having a great time like nothing happened! I'm guessing neither one today remember's what happened.

Yeah...she was a few rows down from me too. She was out....they had to carry her out. She looked like she weighed like 100 lbs.

I'll have to tell her you said that. She actually weighs about 130, and is constantly complaining about how "fat" she is. Haha...

I hope she gets the help she needs....
When I was in my 20's (yeah I know, it was like 30 years ago...and I have fillings in my teeth older than most of you), I had a huge problem with alcohol(amongs other um...uh...other things)I had blackouts that lasted for days....I passed out during an outdoor Styxx concert in Diamond Head Crator, for their first set(they played twice)...I loved me some Wild Turkey and Jim Beam....I woke up when they were playing the same song....not realizing it was the second set...4 bands later.
I ended up with second degree sunburn on the backs of my legs...I had been wearing cut-off jeans and cowboy boots....strangest looking sunburn I ever had.
Don't laugh about the cowboy boots...they are great for stuffing pint bottles down into.
Not to mention I drove my '71 firebird up the highway ramp the wrong way!
Anyway, I have a ton of stories, and this will be one of hers....but let's hope she gets the help she needs like I did, so she can tell stories and laugh about them 30 years from now.

I've done that more times then France has surrendered.:grbac:
Seriously, hope she gets fixed up. I've done some crazy sh*t, but never had to get taken to the hospital. (Although, I probably should have a few (dozen) times.

Yeah, nobody drinks at college games. Its just like Sunday church service in there. As others have said drinking in college games is rampant. you just sneak in your mini's or flask. Hell the frat boys take grain in the flask so it will go farther.
The only difference between the NFL and college is that the NFL teams profit from the drinking inside the stadium and the colleges do not. Also there is the little issue with liability if the colleges wanted to serve alcohol and over 1/2 of the students there are under age.

Getting help?
Sounds like she just drank too much and needs to be more careful next time. What is she getting help for? One time overdoing it does not make you an alcoholic.

without alcohol, some folks would never get laid
better yet, some would have never been born:laugh:
