The flyover wasn't done by MD ANG Thunderbolts (Warthogs)...it looked like F-16s or F/A-18s - whatever they were, they were LOUD. Anyone know for sure what they were?
The PA volume was weak.
The lighting of the field seemed dimmer than in the past. Anyone else see it this way?

Something waka doodle do was going on yesterday. I couldn't here a thing during introductions (the crowd was loud, but not THAT loud). Things kept blinking on and off . . . it was weird. Musta been gremlins in the servers.
Those jets were AWESOME

Someone in my section said that the jets were F-14s. They were some type of single engine fighter and as you said defintely not A-10s.

Did some research and I think the planes were F-16s.

That's a change, they always used to fly the A-10 Warthogs (flying tanks!)

They also had the more swept-back and fixed wings of a F-16.

Nice to see some new wings fly over than just A-10's all the time.
Those jets were loud too. :179421:

From what I understand, the A-10's from Martin's just shipped out to Iraq a week or 2 a go. They looked like F-16's to me, but I'm no military expert. They were definitely loud! The F-14's are retired & were a Navy plane. These guys were from DC (I liked how they didin't say Washington). I like the
A-10's, they're from here just like us!!!

Bud: I clearly saw dual stabilizers, such as on F-14s and F-15s. However, I also saw Heap get only one foot down on the TD (before replayed).

I am an expert at military aircraft and those jets were F-16s...single engine fighter. You want to hear a loud bad-ass plane try the F/18 Super Hornets the Navy/Marines use. I watch the Blue Angels every year down in Annapolis from a boat in the river and they fly about 500 ft above you and they are very loud, especially when running with afterburners.

That's a funny way to showcase a senior moment.

Got a snap shot on my camera phone .... those planes had two engines, not one.

I thought they were F16s but I was a bit wobbly by kickoff
PA volume was weak. Didn't hear the intros from up top. Figured it was opening day gremlins.
Music wasn't very loud but they did play Metallica as suggested by me three weeks ago.
OK, it wasn't for the kickoff (it was for the end of 3rd quarter cheerleader dance thing where everyone goes to the bathroom).
And the concessions people below 543/544 get an D- grade bordering on a 'you really really really suck' grade. I was 5th in line, waited from 2:30 left in the second to way past the half time whistle (at least 10 mins), got to the counter and they were out of hot dogs.

As soon as I read through the 500 page Blackberry users guide and figure out how to post the pic from my phone, I will.

No shit....angles may be different depending where you sit. They flew directly over and away from me so I got a good glimpse of the underside and rear of the jets as they flew over.
Furthermore the pilots were announced from the DC Air national Guard. Check out their site and pics. They fly F-16s.

The DC Air National Guard is located on Andrews Air Force Base, in Camp Springs, Maryland. We are home to the 113th Wing: the 121 Fighter Squadron (including the F-16 Fighting Falcons) and the 201 Air Lift Squadron; the 121 Weather Squadron; and the 231 Combat Communications Squadron.
We presently fly the F16-C and F16-D Fighting Falcon jet fighters, after conversion from the F4-D in January 1990. The F16 is the ninth different type of fighter in the wing's 44-year history.

They played Metallica for the intro's or just during the game?

Usually we get blasted in the ear with the music and sound since we are pretty close to the top but the levels in Sunday's game was way down.

PA system was non existent, I'm in 504. That sucked because there is nothing like hearing those intros, especially for the 1st home game. But hats off to the all the fans, who still were into it regardless of this malfunction. Ray still got his dance off. You would have thought they would have gotten all the gremlins out before Sunday, maybe testing it during the week before the game? O well, we all survived & there was a happy ending!!
