This says one thing to me: Daniel Wilcox is not healthy.

This says one thing to me: Daniel Wilcox is not healthy.
They cut one TE from the practice squad and replaced him with another TE on the practice squad. It may be true that Wilcox is not healthy, but I don't see how a practice squad move like this proves that. ("We're talking about practice! Practice!" Hah, I always wanted to say that).

Hmmm, I guess that means that Barnes and Burgess bumped Hailey off the roster. I see big things for one of those 2 (I'm guessing Barnes).
Did Corey Ross get elevated after the injury to Sams?

He is on the active roster, but I don't think he played last week.

Wait, so who replaces Haley?

In Brazil, I am wondering the same thing!! I really like Dennis and thought he did a great job when he was on the feild. But I am seriously confused on who will be put as back-ups for Ray Ray and Bart. Because right now they have Haley as the only back-up for both. Ravens do not have much depth in the linebacker postion.
So can someone please explain who will be put there?

Too bad about Haley. He was an essential part of the Raven machine. Much like a vinyl top would be on an M-1 Abrams.

Mike Smith would be the only ILB officially, and he can come back after week 6 as he is on the PUP list. But Prescott Burgess played ILB at Michigan as a sophomore, and he is now 6-3 240 so he wouldn't be a bad choice there IMHO in emergency situations. I wonder if Jarret Johnson could play there in a pinch as well, since he is so good against the run and is 6-3 270 - he never played there before (but he never played LB at all before the Ravens, so he has proven he can learn.)
In today's NFL you are always thin somewhere...

Burgess is the backup ILB. That's the way it's listed on the depth chart, and when Ray missed the Ten game last year, it was Smith who started at MLB, then if memory serves, Haley came in for him, with Scott and AD staying put on the outside. I think Scott has also played some ILB in past seasons (2003 Cincy game comes to mind, when he made a mess of tackles in relief of Ray).
Bart actually plays inside now, Suggs is outside (a DE and LB) on one side and Johnson on the other. We could beef up at tackle or DE and go 4-3 with Suggs playing pure LB and Scott or Ray covering the MLB if the other is out for a while.
The question is who is coming onto the roster to replace Haley and why this move?

I am thinking this was a move to either activate Mike Smith or Dan Cody in a couple weeks.

If that's the case, why would they do it now, not in a couple of weeks. Smith and Cody are on the shelf until week 6...

Strange move. This was the guy that started when Ray and Mike Smith went down last year. He was the top back-up and was a special teams contributor with 2 special teams tackles this season. If it's with an eye to activating Smith or Cody it doesn't make sense that the team would do it now. It makes you wonder what Ozzie has up his sleeve.

Haley's major role on the team was ST and he was good for a penalty or two a game, so that certainly lessens his value to the team. As others have said, Burgess must have supplanted him on the depth chart.
As far as who replaces him on the roster, the most likely candidate, IMO, would be Anthony Bryant, the DT on the PS. Given that Pryce is going to be out for a couple of weeks, we could use some depth there. What I do find interesting, though, is that normally they would have made that move when they cut Haley, so that leads me to believe that they may be looking at a player or two from outside the organization to possible bring in. I doubt there is much available (or worthwhile) at this point, but it appears that they may be taking a look before possibly elevating Bryant.

Yeah, the delay is what has me scratching my head. Is there anything out there? A trade maybe?

I'm with you Ravor. They are probably going to add depth at DEnd with Pryce out.
They were thin on true D Linemen because they kept Haley, Barnes, Burgess, and Edgar Jones all as backup LBs. I'm a bit surprised it wasn't Jones who got released, seeing as how he hasn't played yet. Maybe Oz knows of teams who would immediately snatch him up.

I just got a txt message saying we signed LB Nick Greisen. It says he was a standout with the Giants and Jags.

Greisen should be solid on ST as that has largely been his role during his career. As long as the avoids the "blocking on the back" on KRs - which was Haley's specialty - he should be a solid addition for that role.

I just saw the signed Nick Greisen. I have not seen him play much so I can not comment but according to a Giants fan he was a good player. I hope he is able to jump to speed and be ready for anything coming his way. I knew there had to be a reason they cut Haley. I guess we got our answer why :D

Interesting. Greisen shows 30 career starts. In the last 3 years he's had 29 starts, 198 tackles, and 12 PD's.
