View Full Version : Forget the committee approach, start Mike Anderson

Mike's production exceeds both Musa and Jamal's considerably on a per carry basis. I do not think it's a fluke either. He's the only one to break a long run for a touchdown and his inside running and cutback runs against Denver demonstrated a higher level of awareness than Musa has shown me to date. Am I wrong in this perception?

Nope, I would start Anderson and use Musa as he has been, Jamal would get Anderson limited carries until he shows something more than his ability to tap dance while watching a puny hole collapse.

I'd like to see Mike start with Musa as backup. Sit Jamals ass down. Enough with the pitter-patter BS.

I'd agree with that. But I would also submit that part of Musa's production does come on Special Teams. So he's not always as fresh on the field as we think he is.

From what little we've seen of both, isn't Musa a better receiving threat than Mike? I could be wrong. But if so, an advantage to Musa being the feature back, given his catching ability, is defenses won't necessarily know what we're going to do unless it's an obvious passing or running down.

I say, extend Musa's contract and go with MA and Musa, and then save Jamal for the second half of games.

I'd go full committee with Musa and Anderson. Both have been very good in their limitted time and are clearly hitting holes. Musa's YPC haven't been as good as Anderson's. But what I think he brings you that Anderson doesn't is the big play-breaking ability. Anderson will consistently get you yards up the gut, but will rarely break out for one of those 40+ yard runs. Musa's got the speed and elusiveness to break those more often. My guess is if Musa and Anderson both got 300 carries in a season (obviously wouldn't happen, but follow the logic), they'd have around the same YPC.
