View Full Version : Jamal bitching Part II....

Running back Jamal Lewis made it known that there is some dissension in the locker room, venting about his reduced role in the offense. He ran for 41 yards on a season-low nine carries.
"We were getting positive yardage up front and I think we just pumped the brakes on that and didn't just smash on it. It was very disappointing," Lewis said. "I had a 17-yard run and got taken out. I guess I wasn't hot enough. Everyone wants to know where the old Jamal Lewis went and where he's at. You get a 17-yard run and then they take you out."

He's had 1 good run all season and he expects to in all the time? :insane:
I'm getting sick of this BS with Jamal. This is the last thing we need is player's bitching in the locker room.
Please bench him next game...

Gee, we're behind, what does he think, we're going to start grinding it so he can look good? Prior to the 17 yard run, what did he do? How about the runs where he lost yards, I guess they don't count.

He may be right about this, I don't care. He needs to shut the ---- up and make something out of the carries he gets. I don't hear Anderson or Smith complaining about a lack of carries.
In all honesty, they should suspend him, the team doesn't need this right now. This certainly classifies as conduct detrimental to the team. Unfortunately, theres no way in hell Billick would do it in a million years.

Yeah, did we hear Anderson bitching after he had the huge TD run against Oakland in week 2? Nope.
Play the fucking game Jamal. If you consistently made good runs, you'd get more carries. Getting one 17 yard run doesn't qualify you to get 30 carries.
With that said, we should be running the ball more.

I wonder if the "dissension" is just whiney ass Jamal or if there are other trouble spots. I wish to hell we hadn't resigned him!

I also wished we had not re-signed him. He was a major cry baby last year, and I thought a clean break was best for both sides. It makes me wonder why Jamal lobbied so hard to come back here even AFTER we had signed MA. Remember that after we signed MA, Denver arranged a flight to see Jamal, and Jamal canceled the trip. Jamal then called Ozzie to give us another chance at re-signing him and Ozzie signed him. If Jamal does not want to do what is best for the team, then we should just sit him out for the rest of the season and send a message to the rest of the team. Of course, Billick won't do that, and that makes me question Billick's judgment.

Jamal would have been fun to watch in Denver. He has to take himself out after every run at sea level think what he'd have to do at mile high.

On the post-game show Derrick Mason said that for the first time in his career he wasnt having fun playing football. He looked really upset/pissed.
I dont think this is a problem or distraction, he is just competitive. However this does show you that not everyone is jumping for joy in the Ravens locker room.

Fassel is out. Looks like Jamal and Mason got their wish?
Is this another case of the inmates running the asylum?

Jamal needs to quit bitching, he thinks he's the 2,000 yard back again, he's not. He's clearly still not running hard, he's quite clearly chopping his feet and dancing again, he quite clearly can't run without a lead blocker, we quite clearly don't have a lead blocker on the level of the 2003 Alan Ricard and so Jamal isn't going to help us this year. Jamal will always be a great Raven in my eyes for his on-field performance pre his ankle injury in 2004 but this season can't end quickly enough on the Jamal front for us to cut our losses on that front, it really can't.
With regards braven saying about the Biscuit getting involved, well good, this offense has shown little sign of improvement for far too long, it's about time real changes were made to get some signs of life in, Billick has clearly and clearly will never surrender some semblance of control of his offense and that's a huge problem, our drafting philosophy doesn't match our coaching strengths (particularly thinking OL here) and we just need a change, we need some new thoughts because everyone is just getting frustrated, we have the brief glimpses to get people's hopes up (first drive against Giants, first drive against Bucs) and then it's same old same old for us, we need to sustain an offense and for that I just think we need a change of tact.

Sorry, but Jamal was getting positive yardage on Sunday.
That 17 yd run was a foot from a TD.
Then they pulled him for the rest of the game?
The OL can't open holes to save their lives. Look at Anderson's numbers.
