I hope not. Those uniforms are cursed. Cripes, a Monday night game (we never play well in late games), Black uni's (do not play well when they wear them), with those two all we need is to have it rain on Monday night to put the final nail in the coffin.

Yep - the Ravens announced yesterday that we'll be wearing the black uni's on Monday night.
Looking on the bright side, the last time I can remember us wearing black on a Monday night with Boller behind center, was against Green Bay when he reamed them for three TD's.

Didn't EVERYBODY ream GB that year? I know I am naysaying... but I do not like the odds of the uniforms, the weather, the time slot... oh yeah AND WE ARE PLAYING THE PATS! :)

OMG.. Black Unis, Monday Night... vs the Pats. Disaster.
This is so typical. I am just glad I am not the only one that thinks that we are a disaster on Primetime, and in the Black Uni's. (it is pretty obvious)
It has gone on for years.
Can anybody or has anybody given a rational reason for our yearly meltdowns on Primetime? It happens every year with this team. It is too easy to blame Billick. We fumble, bumble, and are generally an embaressment when in Primetime and in black (usually the same day):grbac:
Pats-45
Ravens-3
The sad thing is i am not even exaggerating:grbac:

I love the black unifroms. I just wish Billick would have the team practice in the elements more often instead of in that cushy indoor facility.

I like the jersey but they need to do something with the all black pants.. Put a while and purple stripe of or something on them..

Does anyone here actually think the uni's have any effect on the play?
because in cxase you havent noticed, lately we suck in purple uni's and white too.

YES! I bohlieve it does. :)
Good point on the sucking no matter what uniformes the Ravens wear. I think they should wear New England Patriots uniforms.

Funny you say that, but the Pats practice indoors for away games (maybe home games too) and play crowd noise at around 110db's so they won't have false start penalties.....which got me to thinking that the Ravens should install a "rain" system in their indoor facility so they could practice under this "extreme" weather, but I'm sure it would be too cost prohibitive to retrofit.....

They can pay me the league minimum to stand there with a fucking garden hose.
We do not meltdown in prime time every year.
Remember Denver in 2003? One of the best home games ever.
Remember Green Bay and Minnesota in 2005? Boller's best back to back games ever.
Sure, we have crapped the bed more often in prime time games when compared to a 1:00 pm Sunday game, but maybe that has more to do with the competition you face on those nights and not some curse. Just a thought.

Great Point...I mean I am sure you can find plenty of people who would work that job once a week.
Best part is some people who have the day off would do it for free.

from baltimoreravens.com:
Monday actually is going to be dark for the Ravens because for the second time this year – and sixth in team history – we will don our all-black uniforms. Earlier in the preseason, our team sported its trademark black pants and jerseys against the New York Giants. In regular season play, we last wore our popular alternate threads in the 2006 finale/win over Buffalo. We've won two other times wearing all-black at home: on Monday Night Football vs. Green Bay in 2005 and vs. Cleveland in 2004. The Ravens have only dropped one regular season game when wearing black, a tough loss to the Colts that kicked off ‘05.
is that true?

I compiled these stats for monday night and sunday night football:
Monday Night football (including mnf played on saturday nights):
4-6 all time 3-1 at home 1-5 on the road
Sunday Night football
6-6 all time 4-3 at home 2-3 on the road
Primetime combined:
10-12 all time 7-4 at home 3-8 on the road
We dont stink, but we certainly arent awesome on primetime...at 10-12 its almost .500.

I know the players like wearing the black, and if it makes them feel good and positive, then why not? We are the underdogs; we are not going to the playoffs; half our team is hurt; and if we play decent then the guys can hold their heads up high knowing they did the best they could under the circumstances. I will be wearing my black jersey! Go Ravens!!
