You mean Terry in the morning show with Drew? Where did you read or hear this?

Good, Jeremy Conn is garbage. Can't stand that guy.
He's an asshole and a Colts fan.
Could we get a link or something beyond this? Their bios are down off the website.

After reading this, I went to the WNST website and I don't see Terry Ford or Jeremy Conn listed as hosts. I heard them both on the radio this morning. If someone who has information can elaborate on what happened, I think our audience would like to know.
Personally, I liked them both, and I think they will be missed.

Wow, that would be a shocker if that was the case. Maybe that survey on the website is what got them canned. :rolling:

There must be truth to it then. There is no listing of them on the website at all, not even in the Orioles pictures thing, where they both were listed and had pictures.

I wish birdbrain, who started this thread, had given us a little more info on this, but I don't doubt it's true. These sudden firings without notice seems to be pretty common in radio (and other industries too). 1300 fired Steve Stoffberg a couple of days before Christmas with no warning. It sucks, but it happens.
Then again, WNST is not a Clear Channel corporate entity, as far as I know, so I suppose this is a little surprising.
Maybe that survey on the website is what got them canned.
What survery? I wish posters wouldn't assume the rest of us know the same things they do.

That sucks for Jeremy.
Yes, he's a Colts fan but he was BY FAR the most knowledgeable host that station has.
He knew his stuff about almost all sports.

Greg,
I was being a little sarcastic :)
There is an online listener survey on the WNST website with a whole bunch of questions to answer (mostly rating). You can even win a road trip to the RAVENS at KANASAS CITY game by filling it out.
That was what I was referring to assuming people rating Jeremy and Terry low, but was making a joke about it.

I don't know much more than what is written here but it is all true.
I saw the online survey after visiting and filled it out. They still have those two listed in the survey, though no where else.

It had to be something they both said on the morning show either today or the past couple days. Jeremy was still producing the morning show even though he had a show from 6-8 in the evenings.

They were pretty crude yesterday morning. They were talking about Kelly Pickler (from American Idol) and really getting nasty. Maybe that had something to do with it :glasses:

I'm sure Terry's many negitive comments didn't have anything to do with it. Possibly too many complaint letters sent to Nestor. Remember the same thing happened to Spiro and the Swammi when they were the morning show.
With radio you never know what and where it could happen. It could be a cost cutting move by Nestor or it could be the start of his return to radio. One never knows. :bag:

I like Drew, but frankly I don't think Terry added anything to the show. I think you need differing viewpoints, or at least different ways to look at and discuss an issue. Mike and Mike on 1300 is a good example of that.

Drew, you're a member here. Are you able to comment on anything at all?
Wow, they even changed the schedules that quick too:
6am - 10am The Comcast Morning Show with Drew Forrester
6pm - 8pm Sporting News Radio
They were pretty crude yesterday morning. They were talking about Kelly Pickler (from American Idol) and really getting nasty. Maybe that had something to do with it
I take it Drew didn't join in on this? Perhaps that is why he wasn't fired?

Jeremy was knowledgeable but kind of annoyed me with his negative talk about the Ravens. I want "homerism"! I listen to Mike & Mike for the non-bias football talk.
Not much on DCRTV:
Changes At NST - 11/1 - Incoming at DCRTV's Rumorama. Big changes at Baltimore sports talker WNST (1570 AM). We're told that Nester Aparicio's station has taken the bios of hosts Terry Ford and Jeremy Conn off its website at wnst.net (http://www.wnst.net/). More as we hear it..

I don't know. But I get the impression that Nestor does what he wants to do with his station, when he wants to do it, for reasons that make sense to him. He may have listened to the morning show a few days in a row and said "something isn't working here, I want a change". And did it.

To hear anyone getting fired from their job, and so suddenly, will never make me feel great. These two guys have families or financial responsibilities that have now been disrupted with the loss of their jobs. It had to be sudden because Terry and Jeremy were just on the show yesterday morning.
Maybe something was said or did to lead to this, but I wish those two the best in their futures. Personality aside, those two provided me with what I crave and that is local sports news.

I have been listening this morning, and it isn't the same. Terry and Drew were better together than separately. Drew wished them well but would not eloborate. Maybe Jeremy and Terry will end up on 1300. After all, there are only (2) sports talk radio stations in the area.
I hope the truth comes out about this firing. Maybe someone in this community can get to the bottom of this. I hope Tony runs a blog or editiorial. I think WNST owes the listening public a further explanation.

I wouldn't expect a "further explanation" about the firings. That's how it works, sad to say.

I just cant think of what could have possibly happened to cause this, the way Drew sounded this came straight out of the blue.
I sure am not buying the "they got bad results on a survey" story, you dont just fire someone on the spot for that after all these years on the air(in Terry's case)

None of us knows what was happening behind the scenes, or the nature of their relationship with Nestor, or what Nestor was thinking.
Demanding explanations is just silly. It's none of our business.

I'll listen on the way to work like I always do, however I've always preferred Drew when he was on without Terry. Terry rubbed me the wrong way. But that's just my opinion.
I'm with Camden . . . why do we deserve an explanation? This is the business world and things go on all the time that we don't know about and really isn't any of our business.

This is the way the media business world works. There is more turnover in this field than any other. You have people always trying to move to a bigger market where the biggr money is and you have program directors who fire people and shake things up when they are not getting ratings which leads to less ad dollars. It is a rough business.

The show was 1,000 times better this morning. Drew is very professional and knows his stuff but I felt he was being dragged down by Ford. Honestly, I had just assumed that Terry had incriminating pictures of Nestor, that's why he was on for so long. He was immature, petty, squeaky-voiced and seemed to revel in getting the last word in and just being a goof. It was like someone told him in the 6th grade that he was funny and he just stuck in that mode. I don't know Terry personally but I do wish him the best --elsewhere! I did enjoy Jeremy although I always found it strange that Nestor had a diehard Indy Colts fan doing one of his shows. Good luck to both men & I hope that Drew stays on for a long time.

"JConn" based all of his vast football knowledge on fantasy stats over anything else. He was a Colts fan and a Boller hater. If I never hear him on the radio again I won't complain.
People would call his show just to make fun of him. It sounded like a college radio station or something. He did give some good football picks a lot of times but anytime a Raven fan would pick the Ravens to win he would always talk about "purple glasses" or whatever. Of course no one is better than Peyton and the Colts!

Drew seemed to be less confrontational, toned down and extra professional today.
And that Adam guy seemed very wooden and monotone reading the news. I think he's right out of school. So he is working cheap, which is a job requirement at WNST (or so I hear).

I rarely listen to WNST but I heard a few minutes this morning, and I agree about the guy reading the news. He sounded like a kid in school reading a report.
I didn't listen to enough of the show to really have an informed opinion, but based on what little I did hear, the show seemed to have a very different vibe. It was very low key.

To be honest, I never listened to Jeremy Conn. His show was simply to dry for my taste, and as much as distain as I have for the Anita Marks show, I couldn't listen to Jeremy either. I usually at that point when to XM radio and hit ESPN or Fox Sports Radio.

Don't worry about Adam, I heard they're going to have a different schoolkid every day...tune in tomorrow.
Anita is hit or miss. She can be very good, informative and well-spoken but when she reverts to her "Sage Steele-esque-someone once told me that I was cute" routine, she's horrible.
Anyways, everyone has a chance to do Nestor's survey, like him or hate him, I believe he genuinely cares what the listeners think.

All I care about is that they cover the Ravens, both positive and negative, when warranted. I wish Baltimore had a Ravens only format 24/7. I think some other cities have such a format for their teams.

I wouldn't say it's none of our business -- for people that have been faithful listeners of that show, I'm sure they would like to know what happened. If they have been loyal customers, they have every right to want an explanation.
Of course, that doesn't mean Nestor has to provide one. It will probably come out at some point, but WNST isn't obligated to do it.
Remember when Harold Renyolds was suddenly fired from ESPN? There was no explanation from ESPN as I recall, but in a few days the reason came out (sexual harrassment complaint). But it didn't come from ESPN.

Thanks for all of your PM's and emails over the last day and a half. I have read them all and want you to know I do appreciate your input, comments, concerns and suggestions. I just physically can't respond to all of them at this time (over 100 since yesterday). I hope you understand.
As for Terry and Jeremy...I can't shed any light on their departure. Sorry.
I enjoyed working with them and I'm sure they will both move on from here and carry on with their sports/broadcasting careers. I spoke with them both yesterday, we wished one another well, and that's pretty much how it ended. As is the case in radio, it's abrupt, sudden and there's not much time for "thinking".
The WNST Morning Show will have a different sound (obviously). I hope you give it a chance, form an opinion, and then either join us each morning or do your own thing, based on your preference. All I ask is you give us a listen for a couple of weeks while we iron out the kinks and make the changes we're going to make.
Again, thanks to all of you who contacted me over the last 28 hours or so.

Good luck Drew . . . . I'll be listening

Drew,I listened to the show this morning and it seemed like the energy just wasnt there,I guess maybe you were still in a little shock.I dont know if the "shake up" included you not doing the updates anymore but that intern isnt ready for prime time and I think you should be doing them like you normally do.
Im sure it will take a while to build up a rapport with your new sidekick and things will shape up after you guys have been on the air a little bit, keep up the good work.

I wish you and Casey the best for your morning show. Although I miss Terry, I will continue to listen, particularly to get the latest in Ravens news. It will take some time, but I am sure you will establish your own style and routines.

I know there was a great deal of speculation from many of you about the departure of Terry and Jeremy from The Morning Show on WNST.
Nestor has addressed it on our web-site...wnst.net. It's on the front page, you can't miss it.
