Happy Holidays

I just wanted to wish all of you out there in Raven Nation the most happy of holidays! This year has been the most difficult to endure, and this is coming from a former Colt season ticket holder, who had to endure Irsay's antics! In addition, I'd like to extend warm holiday greetings to the entire Raven's organization - I know they will fix this mess, make no mistake about it. My only concern is Ozzie leaving for Alabama in a few more years!

Regarding Coach Billick, I'd like for a moment to shed a different light on his value as a coach. In no way am I supporting his return, or hoping for his ouster in this thread. As you may have deduced from my many threads, I am torn between the two options. But one thing I can say without equivocation, Coach Billick possesses the following qualities, which we should not forget:

1 - He turned this program around overnight, and brought Baltimore a SB championship - I don't believe the Ravens would've won the entire thing without him at the helm.
2 - He is Loyal both to this organization, and to his players to a Fault - that's not a bad thing, necessarily, but a good thing!
3 - He is extremely competitive, with an ego, yes; but that swagger is one of the reasons this organization has been so successful over the years.
4 - If he were to be fired tomorrow, he would be picked-up in a NewYork City minute by some team out there in need of a winning coach.
5 - I do believe stability pays dividends in the long run, provided the coach is willing to work within the collective system, which BB is willing to do, or at least we will find out upon completion of this year.

Just some thoughts on the coach we've been pounding relentlessly over the past several months.

I like Brian Billick. He's not the guy committing the turnovers, or tossing the refs flag in the stands, or getting himself injured, or failing to stock the defensive backfield with quality reserves. Brian has brought us many happy times in Baltimore, and I am looking forward to see him pull a coaching job next season similar to late 1999, 2000, 2001, 2002, 2003 and 2006.

My only complaints with Brian are his playcalling when the clock reads 2:00, and his excessive loyalty to the declining vets.

Or his failure to win a playoff game in 6 years....
Or the way he feels more of a need to coach the fans on how and when to cheer then prepare a suitable offensive gameplan against the Colts with 2 weeks to prepare...
Or the way he runs Camp Creampuff....

Other than that, yeah I like Billick.
