I was wondering if say Jon Ogden retires after the season, would he still count against the cap for 2007.
My reason for asking is due to JO counting, I believe, $15M against the cap next year. If JO retires and his money comes off the books, then that should be more than enough room to re-sign AD and give an extension to Suggs.
Let me know how this works.

i could be wrong, but I think it all comes down to salary vs. guaranteed money.
Obviously, we'd get his salary money back. I guess if he retires, we'd owe him the remaining balance on his signing bonus, or we could choose to waive him instead.
Someone with some cap knowledge would be best answering that one. I know we got some cap relief when we waived/retired McCrary.

Thanks.
I believe Ogden's cap number is $15M. If we get that cap space back, then it could be huge for us in re-signing AD, extending Suggs, and signing a FA OL.
Where's BRavor when you need him?
