On the road? With our offense and conservative policy when we get the lead? I know that Young has been somewhat of a rookie disappointment, but he has the tools to have a breakout day at any time. I can't see it!:grbac:

7 is being generous to the Titans considering they get the standard 3 point home field advatage. That means we beat them by barely a FG?
With our secondary and run D we should destroy Tennessee.
Come on T when are you gonna stop being so down on the home team? A little blind homerism isn't always a bad thing.

I gotta agree on this. Even with a conservative offense, the Titans offense is no match for our defense. Vince Young isn't as good (and really never has IMO) as he's being advertised. And just like Reggie Bush found out, our defense is not the same as a college D.

Of course we're 7 point favorites.
If anything I'd think we'd be more.
T, you won't let up will you?

That's cool. We'll take a 28 point lead and coast to a 7 point victory.

And let's be honest.
Lines aren't made to actually predict how much a team is gonna win or lose by.
They are made to generate bets on both sides.

I understand where your coming from. But the oddsmakers see a Ravens team that blew out TB and NO on the road and figures a 10 pt win in Tenn is likely. I suspect a close game that the Ravens win by 14 but is a 3-7 pt game most of the way that the Ravens put away with a turnover.

I'm a little iffy but confident about this game.
I reckon 28-10 when the fat lady sings. Vince Young will be introduced to the NFL with the Ravens D as the tour guide.
I doubt it will be very pleasant.

Tennessee's offense is ranked 28th. They are 12th against the run which means nothing since the Ravens shut that down vs. everyone. So they will need to pass. But oh wait, they have a skitterish rookie QB and they are 29th in the league vs. the pass. And the Ravens lead the NFL in interceptions.
This, friends, is the perfect storm brewing.
And Tennessee is LAST in the league in defense, and 31st in rushing defense.
Jamal Lewis better get his rest this week, and eat his Wheaties on Sunday. Because he is going to get the ball all day. As long as the Ravens don't give up the football, and treat this game as a test and not a day at the beach, it should be a cakewalk.

Nicely Stated! I wonder what Vince is seeing in his dreams at night....PURPLE MONSTERS maybe! He might even "stain" his pants on his first possession.........I would hate to be a rookie QB going up against our defense! Just look what happened to Reggie Bush.
Seven points each possesion maybe for the offense?

Like I said on the other board, theres no reason we shouldn't stomp on them. If Billick has it in him to not go conservative we can score 30 or 40 points on them.
No reason to believe there will be a letdown either with McNair making his first trip back there, as well as Rolle and Mason going back too.

This is their Super Bowl. Their fans will be very, very into this game so I hope McNair is prepared to deal with the crowd noise. I'd like to get all over them early to take the crowd out of the game.

Wrong math. It's really 7 + 3 = 10 point Ravens superiority. (The Sagarin ratings provide a 13 Ravens superiority).
Come on T when are you gonna stop being so down on the home team? A little blind homerism isn't always a bad thing.
T, you won't let up will you?
Get real guys. Discussing whether we beat the Titans by 7 or more or less isn't homerism, optimism, pessimism. No one is saying that the Ravens won't win. It's debating the merits of the initial pointspread.
:T2:
7 really isn't that much, considering the decimation they got at the hands of Jacksonville. A 20-13 type game is quite probable. If we ever get a running game going we will be deadly, if it happens this week this could be a beat down for the ages.

This is Vince Young's head---> After being knocked around like a "Bobble head in the back of a 1969 Chevy Impala going down the back streets of B-more", hon!!!
I'm no longer on the practice squad!! I AM BIG TIME NOW MOMMA

I agree with Mister T, it's still football and anything can happen. Just ask the Bears. Better yet remember back to our Super Bowl year when we played the Cardinal's late in the year. We should of killed them, but instead we were lucky to limp back home with a win. The Titans will be pumped their fans will be pumped, they have nothing to lose and everything to gain. Ah the good old days a Titan Ravens hate fest.

I don't think anyone is debating the merits of "any given Sunday". Sure, they can beat us if they come to play and we don't.
Oakland 20, Baltimore 12 . That game still sticks in my craw.

Tenn 25, Baltimore 10 That game is why I am questioning the 7 point spread on the road.
:T2:
Anthony Wright and no first downs in the first half...this isn't even close to the same team.

It is just a point spread, not a prediction! It is a number picked by Vegas to ensure that equal bets come in on both sides. If you don't think that the Ravens will win by more than 7, they throw some money on them!

Cannot do that, Kevin. I would never, ever bet against our team. Bad karma.

Although I really think the Ravens will win handily, NO team in the NFL should be taken lightly. Given the Ravens mantra though I can see a 7-10 point spread bieng considered too much.
Also remember the Vaunted INDY offense only put up 14 against tis Tennessee team in a 14-13 win.

I agree that 7 is a bit generous for a road game, I do, however see McNair going off in Tennessee. I see us winning by at least 7...

Homerism? Let up? How about: take off the purple glasses. :kewl: What's wrong with realism? :229031_confused2:
We beat a decent team today. No shame in the one point win on the road. Don't be surprised to see the Titans back in contention next season, if they can upgrade their defense with some of their abundant salary cap $$$$. Fortunately, we won't play them again until 2008.

My prediction earlier assumed that the Ravens came to play.
Well, they didn't until halftime. Props to you for seeing this game in your crystal ball. Statistically, we should have run all over them. The stats reversed themselves today. We got 50 yards rushing. Are you kidding me?? McNair probably got 1/3 of those by himself.
This was not a good team, T. It was a dreadfully undermanned team that simply had heart and wanted it more than we did, at least until our guys woke up and realized that they were in deep shit.
And frankly, I wouldn't mind not having to face that team in TEN again for a while.

This game went about how I expected. This Titian team almost beat the Colts
