I was in fells point bar watching Michael McCreary do a live radio feed. Outside in Baltimore, the buildings were lit in purple and many folks were wandering around with jerseys on. I ran into the occasional out of towner in a blue #18 jersey and thought, "you really walking around here in that jersey?"
We drove home and passed M&T all lit up...almost vibrating and I knew that in 24 hours I would either be completely juiced or absolutely devastated leaving that place.
Odd how different it is one year later.:(

Yeah, that was awesome:p I was riding around Baltimore late that night and I live near Annapolis..I drove all the way down there to get a feel and the pulse of the city:eyes: I loved that feeling...I think it's going to be a long time until we get back that purple air in the city...I wouldn't be surprised if we go 4-12 next year and I am being optimistic:( ..At least with Billick, we would have probably made it to the playoffs again next year:(

I don't want to talk about it. As a fan, that night rated up there with the Baltimore Colts losing in 1969 to the Jets and some other Orioles World Series losses. It took me weeks to get over it. Let's move on.

"absolutely devastated leaving that place"
:(
Blech . . . . that took me forever to get over. I never wanted to see McNair step on the field as a Raven again. I know that's petty, but I can be rather petty from time to time :nerd:

That's depressing.
I was bumming this morning. I'm in the process of dubbing around 20 VHS tapes of the family onto DVD discs so we don't lose precious videos of the kids when they were babies. So while I'm doing this, we're strolling down memory lane watching them.
This morning I was recording Winter of 2001 and had to watch videos of my wife taping me watching SBXXXV. I'm going ballistic and running around the bar like a maniac from that first TD pass. Don't even want to look at my reaction to Jermaine's TD runback.
Oh for the good old days...........................................

I'm working today and was just thinking I was walking in from Fell's Point that a year ago we were packing the car to go and tailgate. I had a slight headached from beer consumption at the Wharf Rat with Mista T and Losac the previous evening.
Think we'd only have needed a couple of layers if we had a home game today - shame we sucked this year.
I hope to see the buildings lit up purple downtown in the not too distant future. There's something special about this place when the Ravens are doing well.

No shit. Last Jan. 12, we were talking Super Bowl, 13-3 with a home Div. playoff game.
A year later, We got dusted in that game, went 5-11 in last place and our coach is on the street.
I wonder if that scenario was even imaginable last Jan 12.

Steve McNair played that game like he had money on the Colts. Rarely is one man responsible for a loss in a team game, but that one falls squarely on the shoulders of Steve McNair.
Thank you Ozzie for bringing in a fossil. Thank you for not even considering Drew Brees, and thank you for paying McNair like we were actually in a bidding war with other teams for his services.

Heap and Clayton also had huge fumbles in Colts territory...remember when Todd Heap and Mark Clayton actually played football..hard to believe is right.

In the "aftermath"...it always annoyed me hearing some people complain about how fired up some of us were to beat indy.
Their ridiculous contention was that the the fans wanted the game so much it effected the players negatively.
I wish Baltimore fans got THAT fired up every game!
The level of "spirit" that week was unbelievable!
Thats a good thing!!
It shouldn't matter who we're playing, it should always be a hostile atmosphere!
