It's now official.
Not that we already didn't know this was going to happen.

Dolphins Hire Sparano (http://sports.espn.go.com/nfl/news/story?id=3199065)

I got to assume this just puts Jerry Jones in even more of a power play mode to keep Garrett at any cost!

I'm telling you, Garrett either needs to shit or get off the pot here.

I'll say it again...

I want somebody who has no second thoughts about whether or not they want to be here.

PERIOD!!!

If he's swayed by money, then no thanks.

If he's swayed by promises from Jerry Jones, then no thanks.

I'd love to know what is/was being said from Harbaugh in his interviews.:hammer:

I'm not saying Rex Ryan should be the next head coach, quite frankly I'm not too sure that would be a good idea to begin with, but I like the idea that he pulled his car into the head coaches parking spot the day of his interview.

That is the attitude of the candidate we should be looking for, not somebody undecided about what he wants to do, or where he wants to be.

And they didn't comply with the Rooney Rule. (which I think is a joke!)

How do you know that. Not all coaching interviews are public like here in the Castle.

Wow, their first choice signed without looking at other offers. Weren't we interested in him as well? I thought the Dolphins were a train wreck and the worst team in the NFL, but they got a coach before us. That speaks volumes.

Why is this a joke? I don't get what is wrong with having a guy in mind for the job all along and then hiring that guy. If I were the token black candidate brought in for a meaningless, quickie interview when they know they're not going to hire me anyway, I might be pretty ticked off.

We interviewed him, but I don't think we were ever interested...

Keep in mind, Sparano was a Parcells guy. As soon as Parcells fired Cameron, he had Sparano targeted because they'd worked together and had a history. This is a little bit of a different situation here...it'd be more like Cam Cameron coming here as OC after Schottenheimer comes in as HC...they're linked from previous jobs.

Parcels had Sparano pegged as soon as Parcels got the job. This was the worst kept secret in the NFL.

As for the Cowboys losing assistants, there are reports on PFT of other position coaches who will be following Sparano to Miami. Lets see how happy this all makes Jerry Jones.

You missed my point, I disagree with the Rooney Rule! I understand it intent, but like you said, I'd hate to be "the one" when everyone knows who they want....

Affirmative Action doesn't work in sports because it implies everyone is equal, when we all know that thats impossible in ANY sport!

I'm making an educated guess....

You got to love Parcells,he knows what he wants, and knows how to get it.

I hope Sprarano knows a good priest who can exorcise that losing spirit from the Dolphin locker room.

Meh. I don't care if he's only here for the crabcakes, as long as he's a good coach. Let the drama go on a few more days, we'll get someone good, sooner or later.

In life it is impossible.

Affirmative action should be about opportunity, and given the current HC situation I think the NFL has finally gotten equal opportunity.

I am pretty sure they did comply with the Rooney Rule, although I'm blanking on the guy's name.

Speaking of Caldwell, he pulled his name out of the hat with the Falcons .... makes me think Dungee is done and Caldwell will take over the Dolts.

That was the report on PFT..denied by Dungy, of course, but where there's smoke...

Either that or Dungy coaches one more year max, and he has that job locked up.
