Dude have you heard?
He played for Towson.
He knows his sh*t.....really......afterall, he played for Towson.
Anything you need to know, he's your man.
He knows better than you because, he played for Towson.
New Head Coach gets a B- on his first day on the job because he didn't possess the capacity to realize that Mike Preston played for Towson.
(you're in for a treat!) :ww:

I highly doubt Mike would do anything but report or opin on what he sees with Harbaugh and the new staff. Billick brought on his own fate with the media, by giving many players too much access, including HBO. Talking down and above to many national and local media types is something Harbaugh won't do. I highly doubt that six players and two assistants will have radio shows.
Furthermore, you can be accessible to the Media but also enforce a disciplined approach. I think Harbaugh will toughen this team up on and off the field with an "us focus".

"I highly doubt Mike would do anything but report or opin on what he sees with Harbaugh and the new staff. "
Preston will be his usual negative self the first time he doesn't hear what he wants to hear or someone brushes him aside. It's coming, just wait.
Why or how anyone reads his take on anything is beyond me. :229031_confused2:

No doubt about it -- it's in his DNA. And he thinks that's his job.
If he wrote food reviews it would be "Everything was delicious, probably. I ate it all so fast I tasted little to none of it. But it was a very pleasent eating experience, as are all eating experiencing, so I heartily recommend eating. HEARTILY!"

Actually, I think his food reviews would depend on whether or not he liked the chef. "Compu-chef goes by the numbers when he makes his souffle, he lacks imagination, and he always has."

He'd be able to talk about Camp Cream-puff even more!

If Coach Harbaugh gives 2 shits what Preston or any other writer says then I don't want him as Coach.
Writers are there to incite thought and dialog, nothing more, nothing less....

You're speaking about Mike Preston, right? Im going to give you the benefit of the doubt since you simply said Mike.
Maybe Mike the janitor at the Sun building?
Because the Mike you're speking off cant be that negative, rumor-fanning Preston we have come to .... uhhh .... know.
By the way, did you know he played football at Towson? :D

Funny stuff Greg. How long before he starts using derogatory names for Harbaugh in his weekly gossip column?

But I think there would also be this:
"My source in the kitchen tells me that the head chef is at odds with management staff over lack of ground cumin in the chili recipe. The source also confirms that the head bus boy will be taking over the wine tasting duties by the end of the week."

what I think was telling is that that all the beat writers and columnists had articles on the new coach BUT Preston by 9pm last night.

Preston is incredibly lazy.
We MAY see an article from him tomorrow...and I'm sure it will involve him crying for Marty...as he was practically daring the team to hire him with his "Marty is the only coach that can save the franchise from national embarrassment" column.

Preston wanted us to trade desperatley needed draft picks away to a division rival to rehire Marvin Lewis who is an average head coach.
'nuff said, what a freakin' "know nothing" idiot.
He should be covering anything but football!

OMG! reading this makes me feel more and more at home at 24x7
I thought it was just me who couldn't stand him, deep down I actually found myself wishing Mike Littwin could return :grbac: who was an excellent writer but had no business being on a sports page.
Preston writes a lot worse and he also has no business being on a sports page (unless Pittsburgh wants him  )

I wonder if Nestor told Harbaugh that he's gonna be his new best friend?

I am glad I am not the only person that read that article and was stunned that he actually suggested trading draft picks for an average coach.

Since the Gruden to Tampa you are no longer allowed to trade drat picks for coaches--Mikey should know that since he is MR Football.
Herm Edwards was traded for a draft pick last season.

Every time I read this it cracks me up.
If I were a Chiefs fan I'd be raising hell daily about that.
PP
Exactly, Herm Edwards? He had little of Billick's apparent attributes and was actually WORSE in coaching a 2 minute drill.

As long as Herm Edwards is a HC in the NFL, he will have the title of worst game manager.
And it's no contest.

Yes, but his reviews would be worthless, because he is obviously not discriminating in his taste. Evidently, he'll eat ANYTHING!:hammer:

Has Preston backpedaled yet from his stance on how "hiring Marty Schottenheimer is the only way to keep the Ravens from being a national embarrassment"?

Nope - In fact, he's trying to rake more muck -
"That's another concern. There is fallout among members of the front office staff. It's not unusual, especially with all the decisions the Ravens have had to make in the last month.
But some members of the front office staff, including those in Bisciotti's inner circle, wanted to know how Lewis knew that Billick was going to be fired before they did. They don't understand the pecking order from Bisciotti on down anymore.

Oooo, doesn't Joe Gibbs get an honorary mention though for his double-time-out on a field goal attempt debacle?

He should be covering anything but football!
Specifically, he should be covering college lacrosse. He's actually *good* at it. It is beyond me how he can do one so well and the other so :grbac:. Perhaps he was bullied by fellow football teammates, and his cynicism is an outlet for getting back at the guys who shoved him in a (large) locker?
