Anyone else see NFL countdown today, They said the ravens are in talks with the Eagles to get McNabb. I know this was talked about before, but now there seems to e some truth to it. Not sure I think this will be a good move.

Ugh .... havnt we had enough with going after a past great QB? Not to mention, he's done dick since TO left the team.

No thanks!

Saw that, to be honest I got a little scared when they mentioned our #8 pick.

Moss got traded to Patriots for a 4th round pick

Terrell Owens was traded for Brandon Whiting and a fifth round pick

Willis Mcgahee was traded for two thirds and and a 6th.

Wes Welker was traded to the patriots for a 2 and 7. A late 2 and 7

I want Mcnabb, I think he still has a great 4 years left in him, but I wouldn't be too happy if we got traded #8 overall for him. Then again our #8 could be a bust.

I want him but not for our #8, and you don't have to worry cause they will never give that 8 for him.

I wouldn't be to sure, they said the Ravens are very interested in getting him, and they wouldn't be surprised if we gave it up.

I would not be opposed to trading back picking up an extra 2nd therefore having a first and 2 2nd's and then give up a 2 for Mcnabb

Who said this?

Some blowhard on ESPN?

Everyday I'm glad I stopped watching that garbage.

McNabb for the 8th overall pick?

Chris Mortensen said it. I thought the same thing. He also said the Ravens are interested in Dereck Anderson something Aaaron Wilson denies.

The Anderson angle cracks me up.

First of all, he's not that great.

Second, he had a very good OL, and stud #1 WR, and top notch TE, and a good running game.

We have exactly one of those things here. I'd love to say we have a top notch TE but he wasn't on the field much last year and Im wondering how long he can really be considered as top notch anymore.

I pray that the FO is smart enough to realize that a guy like Anderson is far from the answer we're looking for at QB.

Id like to see his stats against AFC teams.

The NFC has been lacking talent for a while so I think that kind of comparison is in order before we jump after a QB who has been spotty after losing TO.

I like McNabb, but for the overall number 8 pick?

Maybe that's what the Eagles want, but Mort must on crack if he thinks Ozzie would go for that deal.

He has also been injury-prone recently, and we don't need any more of that.

You could not be more right. Also how many times have we seen a QB have one great year and then never be heard from again....pleanty. The stars aligned for the stains this year, but IMO there is no way Jamal or Anderson come close to those numbers again this year....No thanks to Anderson he really is not that great. I do like the Idea of McNabb coming here, but for nothing more than maybe a third or forth. Personally I hope we draft Flaco, IMO he is going to have a great career in the NFL, has the build of Rothlisfagger, and the accuracy of a Brady, not saying he is as good as them just seems to have those qualities.

Uhhh, then we have exactly zero of those things here, if you're not counting Heap as a top-notch TE. Our running game is pretty average even with McGahee because we can't trust the depth behind him, we have a young and mediocre OL and we have a stud #2 possession WR who's being forced into service as a #1 and drawing double coverage because we don't have any other threats that deserve attention. Bring in Roy Williams or Larry Fitzgerald, and hopefully get Heap healthy again, and then we'll have a killer set of receivers... but that doesn't mean Anderson would succeed here, because winning with a bunch of receivers who are all 6'4" or taller doesn't always translate.

Well, when comparing our running game to Cleveland's, Id say we are on par if not a bit better.

That's all. Im not professing our running game as great. I said it was good. The only comparison was to the Browns.

If you want to talk about the whole league, then it's a whole different conversation.

There is no way in hell we would trade our 8th pick for McNabb. He just isn't worth it. Trading down for a mid 1st round pick and an extra second round pick, then use that second round pick to get McNabb.

I like McNabb he still has 3-4 good years left. He's finally 100%. But I don't see it happening.

McNabb is a soild Qb, when healthy. But that's a question mark if he can. Only for no more than a third rd pick if you ask me. Plus i really hope Troy gets a shot someday to prove he can have sucess.

I think us having a top 8 pick, which i hope we never get again, is something a new HC would love to use to make a statement, great things are coming.

Ozzie is not that dumb to sell out :respect

Here to a very busy and interesting off season.:beer1:

Well, let's see. A #8 is totally nuts. 100% totally nuts. It would have to include multiple players from the Eagles or more draft picks, i.e. swapping firsts.

But would I trade a 4th rounder? Sure, I might roll the dice with a 4th.

Then this D.A. rumor.

All of the commentators are forgetting something very important. Only the coaching staff left!!! The "old" regime in the scouting and GM department is still there.

Also, chalk this up to agent or team whispering to drum up demand. McNabb wants to remain a starter, if not at the Eagles, somewhere. It wouldn't surprise me if the Ravens made an inquiry. It's only smart practice to send out feelers for about any player that has the potential to move. sometimes you might get surprised.

I can't wait until the draft.

If this rumor is true, that the Ravens are pondering McNabb, then perhaps when Cameron and McNair spoke, McNair said he might be hanging it up.

That being said, I agree with all that say a #8 pick is too high a price for McNabb.

I think we should just go ahead and get Steve Young to come out of retirement. Maybe we could just resign Jim Harbaugh.

How many old QB's could we bring in? I like McNabb. But just as we saw with McNair, you will not get the McNabb from 5 years ago. You are getting an older, more broken down McNabb that isn't going to perform the same.

I'll pass. Thanks.

WTF? The Sun had a piece that has Ozzie quoted as saying they haven't even had any personnel meetings yet. Mortenson's an idiot...has he had one rumor pan out in the last five years? He's trying to be Schefter and is failing miserably with no credible inside sources.

I'm not even thinking about sweating about this.

If we really want another veteran to bring in here, I'd rather see a Billy Volek or Josh McCown come in...yeah, they won't be as good, but they'd be cheap options to allow us to groom a franchise QB, which I think is what we will start focusing on. Given that our owner focused on getting a young coach he could groom for the franchise's future, I think our staff is going to look for a QB that can stick here for the next 5-6 years as a starter.

While I would hate to see this happen, I definitely think it's a very good possibility. The Biscuit thinks we have a the core of a Superbowl team. He thinks a new coach and maybe 1 or 2 other small pieces away from winning the big one. I think he's very wrong in that assesment.

As much as I am unimpressed with Ozzie, I don't think he would give up the 8th overall pick for McNabb. However, it has become obvious with recent events that the Biscuit is running this show, not the GM.

We don't need McNabb. As was proven again yesterday, good QB play depends on good pass protection. Brady didn't get it for the first time this season, and looked mediocre. Our QBs will do fine if Cameron improves the play of our o-line.

And for those who have that unfounded lack of trust in our FO, please note that the Eagles President, Joe Banner, is also saying McNabb will not be going anywhere.

Mortenson is looking pretty dumb right now!

Maybe Mcnair is retiring. This may mean nothing but all Mcnair merchandise is on clearance on the ravens official website.

He's old for his age due to injuries
