First thing that came to most, if not everyone's mind, was Mike Preston. We all know he's a douchebag with a pen and paper. But besides him, what's always irritated and even disgusted me for some time now, is the seemingly huge LACK of support for the Ravens in The Sun. Everytime I read the Gameday section, or the Sports section, they (Preston, David Steele, Maese, and Schmuck) always say "they played sloppy", "What was [so-and-so] thinking on that?", etc., and we could have won 28-3. This may sound disgusting, but my personal favorite part is reading Preston's Report Card from the game. The DB's could have had a sack and 3 INT's, and he'll give them a "C" rating. Crap like that. If you haven't read it yet, David Steele wrote an article recently entitled "Biscotti needs to own up". Wow. Does the lack of support and almost unneccessary brutal criticism towards the team bother anyone else? I understand it was pretty easy last season due to the high hopes and major disappointments, but what about the 13-3 season? What about the solid games the Ravens played? It's just always bothered me that we don't have a rational, intelligent sports writer giving us the sporting news. That's why I usually turn to BaltimoreRavens.com and/or Mike Duffy. Any thoughts or opinions? Has anyone else thought this?

Slightly ot but hear me out:
The Sun has never given us UKRavens any help whatsoever - despite MANY attempts for a bit of publicity (2003 visit :celery /2006 visit :celery :celery :celery :celery / 2007 Wembley:uk: ) which would have helped us a lot. :hammer:
Their Ravens reporting has always been 'shoddy' - in too numerous ways to mention. I still have the SUN as my 'home page' - to get Ravens/ Football news, but swiftly move to this forum for insight  !!!!

Yes, and sadly, it has been this way since the beginning. When the Ravens went 8-8 in Billick's first season (their first non-losing season) some asshat began an article with a line like "Now that the Ravens have finally reached mediocrity . . ." Nice start to an article.
Preston has always been an obnoxious, talentless hack, but they aren't all bad. Schmuck is pretty good and Maese isn't bad. The negativity mostly comes from Preston, who apparently thinks it's his job to be a jerk. I stopped reading his garbage long ago.

You guys are welcome at our tailgate next time you decide to venture across the big pond. Just give me a heads-up, and we'll treat you to some smoked brisket and pulled pork.

The Ravens must feel the same way about their treatment by the Sun since Billick has refused to give them any interviews since his termination.

Anyone consider the bias angle?
Billick, Bisciotti and others in management lean to the right (both are friends with Gov. Ehrlich, who banned two Sun reporters) while the Sun and a vast majority of its staff lean left. Maybe it has an influence in the sports room?
Schmuck and Steele are the only two true journalists in the sports room. I make it a point to read their stuff.

You guys who think The Sun is bad should see how they do it in New York and Philly. Talk about being critical of the team.

Losac, there is no way I could ever possibly argue that. lol I can't imagine how bad New York and Philly are. Those morons in Philly boo their own players.
