My personal choice for the player people aren't super high on is Jordy Nelson, WR out of Kansas State. Clocked a 4.57 at the combine, runs good routes, and catches everything you throw at him.
Most "experts" think he'll go in the third round, but I would take him with our second. We need a big, physical receiver and Nelson showed the speed to get deep in college. A converted safety who understands what the defense is doing. He is labeled as "deceptively fast" mostly because he's white. He timed in the 40 just as fast as Malcom Kelly, Early Doucet, James Hardy and Limas Sweed. Torched Aqib Talib, a first round corner prospect, with 10 catches for 137 yards.
Nelson and Clayton would give us a fine tandem for years to come and give us options in the passing game.

Mentioned him before but I'd love to spend a second day pcik on Craig Stevens a tight end from the University of California. Our tight ends really don't block well and with young tackles a more competent blocker outside them in two tight end sets than Quinn Sypniewski or Daniel Wilcox would be a massive help for this team. His hands aren't great but he'd really upgrade our ability to spring rushes off tackle and on sweeps, his catching isn't good and he'll struggle to get separation but he's the sort of tight end that defences can tend to forget about.
He brings something extra to a group of tight ends that behind Heap I don't think actually offers a great deal.

Not only will Jordy Nelson be a terrific NFL football player, he is also one of my favorite players in this draft. And while I hope we get him, I can't justify using our second round pick on him. If we trade back in that round, then perhaps. I think our receiving group is better than our quarterback play would allow you to believe. Still, I'd love Nelson just a little later on.
In terms of the more unheralded guys I like in this draft, five names immediately jump to mind.
One is Matt Forte RB Tulane. I watched this kid a great deal in college, and I'm convinced that he will be an impact player at the NFL level. If the Ravens took him in round two, I'd be thrilled. I absolutely love this kid, and as good as Willis was and likely will be, his back-up could become a starter at any point thanks to his shaky ability to stay healthy for 16 games. In a league where a two-back system seems to be in vogue, a McGahee-Forte backfield intrigues me.
The second is Tom Zbikowski S Notre Dame. This is the kind of tough, hard-working football player I rather have on my team than have to face every week. He's flying well under-the-radar at this point, but I'd use that third-round compensatory pick on him and never look back. He's going to play in the NFL for ten years, and I think his best football is ahead of him. Plus he'll contribute immediately on special teams, which our new head coach will certainly appreciate.
Next is Matt Flynn QB LSU. This kid reminds me a lot of Jake Delhomme, who at his peak I would take ahead of any quarterback we've had here. Against the best competition on the planet, he's won. Flynn is great in the clutch, has a good head on his shoulders, is a National Champion, and has yet to play his best football. He moves very well in the pocket, seems to have a great feel for the rush, and while his accuracy could stand to improve, minor mechanical adjustments he requires could help him improve in that area. He is capable of making all of the throws required of NFL quarterbacks. Whoever gets this kid might have a real player on their hands. Why he's not being talked about more I can't possibly understand. The same goes for Oregon QB Dennis Dixon.
And finally, while he's actually the opposite of a little regarded player, Baltimore's own, Virginia T/G Brendon Albert would be a terrific 1st round pick for the Ravens. His is not a name I've heard linked to the team by most pundits, but he did work out at the Ravens facility a few weeks ago. I believe this kid can play left tackle in the NFL, and if the Ravens do too, they should take him and not look back. First off, he's got the hands and feet to be great. He's big, strong, smart, has terrific natural athleticism, is a very hard-worker, and is extremely coachable which suggests he'll improve into the prime of his career. And having played at Virginia, he's faced some upper-echelon talent, including likely #1 overall pick Chris Long in practice. And if the experiment fails for Albert as a tackle, his basement as an NFL guard is a borderline Pro-Bowl talent.

Can't go wrong with Albert.
I like Slaton as a possible 3rd round pick.

My favorite little regarded player in the NFL Draft is the one who produced in college, not the one with the potential to produce in the NFL.
To wit:
People are rating Flacco way too much on potential rather than what he actually produced. To be considered in the top 25, a player should have the production and the potential. If you have to err one way or the other, you have to err on the side of production. Kyle Boller completed only 47% of his passes at Cal, but because he ran a 4.6 in the 40, threw the football between the goal posts from his knees 50 yrds out (we all know how useful that ability is!), etc., his production in college was largely ignored. Stupid human tricks shouldn't matter. Production on the field should trump. The fact that Flacco couldn't beat out Tyler Palko at Pitt should send up major red flags. Maybe Dave Wandstet (sp?) can't judge talent, but he has to be able to recognize the difference between an eventual undrafted player (Tyler Palko) and one that has top 25 value (Flacco, according to Mel Kiper).
I'll take the weak-armed, system QB Brian Brohm any day of the week over Flacco. I'll take the 47 games started, starting as a freshman Chad Henne over Flacco, too.
I don't want to see the Ravens fall in love with a QB for his potential, as they did with Boller. It's not about how tall you are, how strong your arm is, your mobility, etc., when it comes to the QB position. It's about what is between your ears, what's inside your chest, and what hangs between your legs.

I'm on board with that, though Henne only marginally.

I'd love to see us take a late round flyer on Jerome Simpson, but he may not last beyond the 3rd round.
Got some physical attributes and sounds better than Clarence Moore was for us, but maybe a similar role.

I was reading and i saw that harbaugh said he wanted a qb that could be mobile when needed and have a good arm and as soon as i read that i realized how good a fit QB Josh Johnson from San Diego would be. Hes tall, fast has a great arm i think he could come in and challange. I also think that Kevin smith in the 3rd round would be a great fit because hes durable and fast. Him and willis mcgahee would be a deadly duo. If we could snag these players in the draft i would love our future and i see many championships in it.
