I would love to see Chad in purple. Doubt the Bengals would trade him inside the divsion though but he would be a great addition. He would stretch the defense so Willis could run and add a great resource to whoever the QB ends up being.
Even if they don't trade him as Marvin is asserting, he will cause problems on the Bengals which is a bonus. I don't see him as a behavior problem on the Ravens. He never causes problems outside of the field and most of his antics on the field are pretty innocent really.

No thanks.
If Chad is unhappy being the number one receiver on a team with an amazing QB, a decent running game and a stud number two receiver to take the heat off of him, how do you think he will behave with Kyle Boller and a 1st year head coach?
Harbs has enough on his plate. The LAST thing we need going into a season filled with promise is someone who is the T.O. of the AFC.

Pass on Chad Johnson, who has turned into a minor league T.O. This isn't exaactlly news anyway, since he's been begging for a trade for a couple of months. He's just being more obnoxious about it now.
And although trading him would probably be the smart move to make, don't bet that Cincy will do it. They might call his bluff, so he'll either have to show up or sit out the season.

In a way it's sad...Chad just wants to WIN. The Bengals keep treading water and can't get anywhere. The closest they were all it took was Palmer's knee getting bashed by the steelers and that ended that.
The Offense continues to age and gradually lose parts (Steinbach, rudy johnson isn't good anymore) while the defense continually flounders and loses a good player in Madeau Williams.
It seems to me as if 8-5 just wants to go somewhere that can actually compete and win. It'll be interesting to see what happens.

Houston is right. Pass on Ocho Stinko.

I wouldn't be so quick to fall for all the media hype that makes some of these guys out to be bad.
Look what T.O. has done in Dallas. You think Romo doesn't love having him??? What about Moss in N.E. ...You don't think Brady loves having him???
These so called problem guys do have the capacity to fit into a system and do well. 85 is a premier receiver. We ain't got one of them right now. I like Mason but as our only consistent receiver that isn't saying much.
I promise Cincy wants to get rid of him but they will deny that to raise the price. It would be a poor move on their part to trade within the division. I guess I am the only one here but I would be jazzed to see him in purple.

T.O. was on a floundering offense with a QB who's ego was about as big as his. Plus, T.O. seems to have "found Jesus" and has calmed down considerably since his days of refusing to play for the purple.
Chad is on the upswing of his asshole-ness. He is on a team where you could not ask for more on the offensive side of the ball. Almost any other team is a step back for him -- including us. He is a TD machine at Cincy. You think he will sit and shut up when Kyle is dirting every third pass? Combine that with a relatively weak QB situation, a first year head coach and the ego that is Ray Lewis and you have distraction at the exact time you want a team to gel.

To be fair, Chad and Ray are apparently very good friends and talk on the phone often.
Assuming Cincy would trade him within the division, which they'd be crazy to do, the cost would simply be too high. We can't be the Redskins and just give draft picks away for a big name star when we have many depth issues and need to stock pile through the draft.
Let's make sure we have the QB-position shored up first before doing anything drastic.

You're not alone in that thought. Jackass, yes, top notch receiver who seems to be fairly chummy with the likes of Ray and Ed Reed etc, hell yes. I'd rather have a gobby, true #1 WR than no true #1 WR.

Really? From what I've heard this week, he just doesn't get along with his coaches, who have tired of his antics. And if he just wants to win, why would he come to a team with a new coach coming off a 5-11 season?
Sorry, he sounds like another diva WR that is more trouble than he is worth.

Ok.
His last year with Philly was 2005. In 2005, he played 7 games and only had 6 TD's That same year, Philly was the number 19th ranked offense when the year before they were ranked 9 in the league with the number 3 passing attack.
And what has McNabb done since he left??? I will give you a hint, it rhymes with hero.
A 10 spot fall in one year equals floundering, IMO.

I think every player in the League and Ray are apparently good friends and talk on the phonr often!!
I'd love to see him in Purple but have very strong doubts it will happen.

Yes to Chad Johnson. The only reason why chad is looking so bad is because he wants to win and he doersn't think the Tigers can do it for him. He's no going to want o play here unless Ray Lewis, Ed Reed, and CC really worked on him. But Chad could be the WR to bring Bollers Career around. Bollers got a canon and he will hardly under throw Chad. The Only thing we'd have to do is make sure we DON'T poop all over chad if we lose a few games because thats what the Tiger's fans did.

Hmm. Johnson is intriguing. But, what would it cost to get him?
That really is the issue to me. He would improve the pass game. But, then again he isn't even the best reciever on his own team. So what do you give up? If you talk about a late round pick. Sure.
His antics, much like other players as well, look much cooler when you win and look boorish and infantile when you continually miss the playoffs.

LOL
The year he was fired up and yelling at everyone and disrupting the team and got kicked off it?
Yeah, that team scored 23.3 PPG in the 7 he played, and 16.1 PPG in the 9 he didn't. 23.3 PPG would have been right around #10 or #11 overall scoring that year. The year before that they were the #7 scoring offense.
Thanks for proving my point. Floundering offense? Hardly.
Speaking of, Chad Johnson will probably wind up going to Philly. Him or Roy Williams. Don't be shocked if either of those two guys get traded the the Iggs in a deal that includes Lito Sheppard.

Uhh, what do you think he was bitching about then???
The offense took a huge stpe back on just one year's time -- a drop from 9 to 19 cant be laughed off just to prove your point.
He wanted out because he recognized the team was going backwards on the offensive side of the ball.

The Eagles' offense was doing fine when TO was there. The dropoff came after he was suspended. He wanted out because of his feud with McNabb and because he thought he wasn't getting the ball as much as he should. Plus he bitched that the Eagles didn't respect him when they failed to announce his 100th career TD over the loudspeaker IIRC.
I'd rather give a third pick to Tenn for Pac Man. this would take care of our CB need and we could still get our QB and OT. All three of our needs would be filled with great talent right away.
Are you joking??? :grbac:
We're trying to shed the thug/criminal image and Bisciotti has stated he wants to bring in only character guys from now on. No way in hell they go near Pacman.

You need to look up what happened before simply assuming...you're misremembering facts. He wasn't bitching about the offense taking a step backward. Here's what happened, chronologically...
- Monster '04 season, McNabb is MVP material. They lose to the Pats in the Superbowl with McNabb puking his guts out the final minutes of the game.
- Owens hires Rosenhaus and says he wants a new contract. Eagles don't budge. Owens says "I'm not the one that got tired in the Superbowl." A rift between him and McNabb is opened.
- No deal is done, Owens threatens to hold out but does actually report. He continues to bitch about his contract situation into the season.
- McNabb is dealing with a hernia.
- Owens wears a Michael Irvin jersey after a game where they got killed by the Cowboys.
- Hugh Douglas and Owens get into a fight, Douglas representing the rest of the Eagles locker room's opinion.
- Owens goes onto ESPN and whines first about how the Eagles didn't recognize his 100th TD catch, and then about how they would be undefeated if they had Favre instead of McNabb.
- Reid then suspends Owens.
Owens may have been bitching about the offense floundering at the very end, where he made the Favre undefeated comment. But the reality is that the offense wasn't down almost any through 7 games with him in it vs. the prior year, and McNabb was still having a very solid season having thrown 15 TDs to 7 INTs in those 7 games, even with a hernia which later ended his season.
That offense wasn't floundering until AFTER Owens was out. There's almost no arguing this point. The numbers ALL justify it, as long as you're looking at when Owens was actually playing.
You're trying to use numbers that include periods where he wasn't playing. Saying the offense was #9 in '04 vs. #19 in '05 is a completely irrelevant comparison, since they played more than half the season without Owens. As I already mentioned both in this post and the prior, the Eagles offense in '05 was barely off its productivity of '04...almost none at all...before dropping off a cliff when Owens went out.

HMMMM...Ray at the scene of a murder...he is still here with his numerous kids with numerous mothers....CMac all of his issues....Suggs beat someone with a pipe...Rolle beat his wife....how many other players had issues and corrected themselves. I know you live in a perfect world but, believe it or not people can turn their lives around. Ray, Mason, Rolle, Scott all good solid citizens now that can help Pac Man. Give him a break he can learn. Slow learner yes....after a year off and a threat of losing everything he has worked for....he wont mess up. Besides the talent and his cost now is extremely beneficial to the Ravens now.
Pacman has been arrested 6 separate times. If you don't learn your lesson after the 2nd or 3rd time, it is highly unlikely you'll learn it after the 6th.
Besides, Bisciotti and Ozzie have said they are making a decided effort to clean up the image of the team and really use character as an influence on who they draft or who they sign. Giving Pacman Jones a 7th chance does not fit that mold.
And how are you so sure he won't mess up, as you claim? Do you know him personally?
