Ah cr*p
what really blows my mind though is the team with the easiest schedule
New England Patriots - Last years record of who they are playing this year is just sick .387 W99 L157

yeah, that seems fishy to me...I mean granted, you've got 6 games predetermined every year based on your division, and then another 4 from whatever outside of conference division you are setup to play (just so happens 3 of the 4 NFC East teams made the playoffs last year  )...but still, how this ended up giving the Patriots a DRAMATICALLY easier schedule, it just smells of conspiracy theories.

Riiiight, even though all games they'd play this year aside from 2 were determined about 7 years ago.

Since teams within the same division play most of the same teams, you'll notice the teams on that list are largely grouped by division. NY Jets, Buffalo and Miami are near the bottom as far as easy SOS, and Pitt, Cincy and Cleveland are near the top with us.

There are no conspiracy theories, it's just due to the fact that we play the tough AFC South and NFC East this year, while NE, NYJ, Buff and Miami play the weak AFC West and NFC West.

To be fair, the conference extra divisional opponents are picked two years out, so when it was decided the break down for this season, nobody knew how the records would turn out.

I dont put much credence in this. Only two games are not pre-determined so it really doesnt mean squat.

Im fine and confortable with our schedule.

:word This schedule thing, for me, ranks up there with the vast reffing conspiracy against the Ravens or the federal govt blowing up the WTC ...

There's no two year scheduling .... the slotting of opponents was determined at least five years ago (when the NFL realigned into eight divisions), and goes out into the the next decade. It's fully automatic, cast inn concrete: six AFCN games, four games against another AFC division rotated triannually, four games against an NFC division rotated every four years, and two games against the teams at the same level of standings as the Ravens in the two AFC divisions not in the curent AFC rotation.

All the above is subject to change if/when the 17th game is added.

Isnt that what I said? I meant it more as we knew it two years ago what divisions we or any team would see. Thanks for clarifying!

They do have a lot of good teams on the schedule, but the entire division has to face the same tough teams and some of them have tougher road schedules.

The 2 divisions we play are going to likley be the hardest ones, but the Pats got an easy schedule last year only because they were the only team to stay healthy in the AFC East last season. Miami and Buffalo were almost as devastated by injury as the Ravens were, and the Jets were a playoff team the year before.

We will be fine as long as we wax the Bungles in week 1.

Yeah - well the Ravens and NO were tough games last year according to the folks doing this analysis 12 months ago and I remember us having several easy wins on the schedule, notably the stains.
