Resume: Annapolis High, Univ Md, NASA, DOE, Communications Industry, Consulting, Entrepreneur.

Now, the important stuff:

Former Colts fan - season tix for a couple seasons before moving away

I lived in N'Awlins for a few years - adopted the 'Aints as my 2nd team back then (no emotional tie today, although I still like going to the Superdome)

I went into mourning during the dark days - Stallions, Navy, Terps, but mostly I just went fishing & camping - screw the NFL:141847_bdmoon: , I only watched playoffs

Ravens season ticket holder from the get-go. Upper deck, where I can see the plays open up. In 10+ seasons, I have missed just one each reg season, preseason, and playoff games due to factors beyond my control. Occasionally I'll snag clubs when it gets too cold for humans to sit outside to watch the game.

I was one of the original group of Sunspot Ravens Forum participants, included Fanatic, Greg, Lady Raven, Paulie, BertJonesMyHero, BigRavensFan, Nightman, Prolific, PurpleGuy, MikeK, Ravenous52, theRave - I joined during the 1998 season. (Whatever hapened to Meister?) We resigned en masse in protest of the Sun Gestapo Admin publicizing IP addresses, to join the infantile Ravens Nest 2 Message Board in 1999, which is the ancestor of this board.

Tailgate party each home game at the Lot J hangout for many board members. I am usually fully sober at games so I don't miss any action.

Mrs T. and I make it to a few Ravens game road trips each season, in my quest to visit every NFL stadium. We usually vacation around these trips.

My all-time favorite Ravens highlight was the Banks to Sharpe pass in the 2000 season home opener 39-37 win over Jax. Many others are close seconds, includes McAlister's & Reed's big runbacks on prime time TV, Ray's hit on Eddie George on last play, Ray's INT strip of George, Sharpe's miraculous playoff game catches vs. Broncos and Raiders, A. Wright to M. Robinson jump ball TDs in 44-41 comeback vs. Seattle, Stokley's & Jermaine's SB XXXV TDs.

Like Peter Pan, I refuse to grow up, when it comes to Ravens games. My all-time pre-game & post-game highlights both involve Papasmurf and pyromania: once to keep us warm by burning a sorta-dead tree in the tailgate lots, the other by burning a Steelers fan yellow rag.

I'll follow Mista T...

I'm a 22 year old, originally from Catonsville, MD...now I live in Hanover, PA
Started at Catonsville High School, moved onto UMBC, graduated this past Spring with a B.S. in Information Systems
I'm engaged to be married in a month, she's a Redskin fan
I now work at a retirement community corporation in Catonsville, MD as a Systems Analyst for the IT department

I forget how I stumbled across the Scout board there, but I'd been on for about 2-3 years. I was too young to know the Colts of Baltimore, but I followed the Baltimore Stallions here and remain forever pissed that they were run out of town. I like the Ravens, but we had a PHONEOMENAL CFL team too.

Unfortunatley, I have still not attended a Ravens game, but now that I have a good job, I'm hoping to get the money together to hit one this season.

In my spare time, I play a lot of Xbox...mainly MLB, Madden, or shoot 'em up games. Still haven't hooked up Xbox Live though.

I'm over 50 ;) I have 3 Browns season tickets in 503 Row 14. I've been a member of Ravens boards since 1999. I have met several members here on my annual 2 week trip to Ocean City in June for Nascar in Dover DE.

If your going to a game in Cleveland your more then welcome to join us or at least do a shot with us. Our spot is where the police hangout ;)

I'm over 40 and graduated from Mt St Joe High school. My early college years my BAC level was higher than my grade point average. Became a Police Officer and went back to night school and graduated with a BS while raising 2 young kids. 4 more years to retirement, come on baby.

I love the beach and own a 2nd home on the shore where I spend all my off time at except during football season.

I've been a season ticket holder from the start and have only missed 1 game due to my daughters competition. Was a Colt and Stallion fan before the ravens arrived. I tailgate on Lot H and usually arrive around 0800.

I have been following the site since it was on Ravensnest 2 but don't post much since a certain unnamed poster (Buckdodgers) defamed a fellow brother of mine who was murdered. GKB knows what I'm talking about. Hopefully this board I will participate more.

I'm Ben, I'm 20 and I'm a Brit.

Born and raised in Ware (heard all the jokes) Hertfordshire just north of the fine city of London. Currently home for the summer from the University of East Anglia (Norwich) where I'm just about to go into my third (last year) of a degree in Ecology.

First got into the Ravens by a mix of Madden 97 on the Playstation and by watching on channel 4, didn't properly settle on the Ravens fully as my team until just in time for our Superbowl season though I don't think I really became a big fan of the Ravens until the tail end of the 2001 season (I think it was) when we last won a playoff game. From mid season I started really following the team and got started on message boards in the UK and at YBR the season after that.

Extremely excited about heading over to my first game this year with three other UKRavens, sitting in section 111 for the home opener against the Raiders and meeting up with the fine folks I've met over the internet. Truly can't wait and the summer is just ticking away in my mind until I can get on the plane to get out to Baltimore for the first time.

I'm 45, single and have followed the Ravens since their inception. I also supported the Stars and the Stallions when they were in Baltimore. I live in Rockville, Maryland and I'm a proud member of Ravens Nest 9 in Bowie, MD.

So you were actually alive during the Browns last championship. How was that? :p

Mods, is there any chance of moving this to the main forum just for a little bit? It's a great thread & I think more people may see it and appreciate it.

I am 37, engaged to be married in June of '07, honeymoon in Sicily (my fiance's birthplace). Born and bred in Baltimore, a Colts, then a CFL's/Stallions, then a Ravens fan. Member of the Scout board for 1 1/2 years & I am very thankful to a very special Mod to be invited here. I keep hearing about the old days when everyone got along on the board & I hope this is the same kind of place. Thanks again.

Good one T :

I'm 33 (soon to be 34)....got married last month. My wife is an Eagles' fan but she grew up outside Philly. She's a Ravens fan now and goes to the games with me. We live in Westminster and have an english bulldog named Bogey. I love to play golf and have a hole-in-one to my credit. Went to Calvert Hall HS, then to UMBC for my BS, Johns Hopkins for my MS and now I'm at Loyola for my MBA. I'm a Data Network Engineer working in Columbia. As my sig says I'm a season ticket holder since 98 and sit in Section 513. Peace. :179422:

I’ll play along.

I was born and raised in Covington, VA…a small town near Roanoke on the western side of the state. I lived in the same house with my parents until I went to college at the University of Virginia, where I majored in government.

I originally intended to go to law school, but I couldn’t make it work financially…so I went to work instead. I bounced around a few jobs I didn’t like until I finally landed with a division of Bell South in Atlanta. Through a contact I made there, I found a job in Lancaster, PA. I was fed up with the big city and the burbs, so I made the move. That’s where I met my wife. In 2002, she gave me the most wonderful gift I have ever received: my daughter Julia.

We settled in Millersville. I eventually took another job as an account coordinator for a junk mail company (that’s “direct mail” to you). I enjoyed the work, even though it was very sporadic…I was paid well, and that’s what mattered.

Err, yeah…the “sporadic” part: a lot of our business relied on non-profit companies for clients, but the major part of our business was politics…you know, all those solicitations for money from candidates running for office? That used to be me sending that stuff to you if you happened to fall on the Republican side of the aisle.

I say used to be, because the owner and VPs of the company I worked for, in their infinite wisdom, concentrated far too much of their sales efforts on the political side of the business. When the 2004 campaign was over, poof!!! Most of their business went with it. I hung on through a few rounds of layoffs until my number came up last August.

I was called into HR and told that they valued me as an employee, but facts were facts, and my job was ending in September. I could leave now or stay on…they would appreciate it if I stayed. I did, working as long as I could, but my last day finally arrived anyway. I told very few people around here (maybe one) what was going on, because I didn’t want it to become fodder for smack any more than I wanted anyone's sympathy.

In any case, that layoff was a blessing in disguise…my wife and I became closer, and I got to spend more quality time with my daughter as she changed from a toddler into a beautiful little girl who is the pride of my life. We were OK financially, as well.

As for work, I eventually found a new job with significantly more pay and a little less responsibility. Ain’t it funny how that works? The less you slave, the more you earn. Oh, well…this job beats the living hell out of my previous one. For one thing, I don’t wake up with a four letter word every morning when I hear the alarm.

Most of you know that I also post under the username DRayRaven. I originally created RavenMad2099 as a way to experiment with avatars and different sig lines. As time went on, it changed into something else. The DRay ID was tied up in the politics forum, and it soon became synonymous with a particular point of view…so much so that I was uncomfortable using it on YBR. RavenMad2099 gave me the opportunity to be less serious and just have fun talking about football without necessarily being immediately associated with politics….so I kept it, and I even recreated it over here at the new place. I don’t plan on having as strict a separation between the two anymore…I’ll just use whichever I feel like using wherever I feel like using it.

BTW, I’ve never put “a name with a face” before, so I’ll do so now. This is a picture of me taken at my last birthday party earlier this month. The smiling little girl is my daughter Julia. Judging from her face, she enjoyed the chocolate cake more than I did…lol

Very well. Where do I begin? My father was a relentlessly self-improving boulangerie owner from Belgium with low-grade narcolepsy and a penchant for buggery. My mother was a 15-year old French prostitute named Chloe with webbed feet. My father would womanize, he would drink. He would make outrageous claims like he invented the question mark. Sometimes he would accuse chestnuts of being lazy. The sort of general malaise that only the genius possess and the insane lament. My childhood was typical. Summers in Rangoon, luge lessons. In the spring we'd make meat helmets. When I was insolent, I was placed in a burlap bag and beaten with reeds. Pretty standard-really. At the age of 12, I received my first scribe. At the age of 14, an Zoroastrian named Vilma ritualistically shaved my testicles. There's nothing like a shorn scrotum, it's breathtaking I suggest you try it.

Also, I like pancakes.

Ted-
Good idea.
Born in Baltimore, attended U of Maryland where I played lacrosse and than went to grad school at Florida State. Worked as an intern for The Colts in the scouting department and refused to go with them after the move. Got a job with the Bears in their scouting department where I worked for five years.
Left and got into the investment banking industry, working at the Board of Trade in Chicago. I lived there until 1995 when I had a five year exile in Indinapolis working on an investment deal. Moved to California in 2000, first to Newport Beach and than to San Diego where I've been for five years.
I've been a season ticket holder of the Ravens since day one, and travel to at least three games a year at home and several on the road. I had the pleasure of working with Steve on the banking deal when he bought the Ravens and have also worked with others in the front office.
While the Bears and Chargers( who were always a favorite when Unitas went there) are still teams I follow, the Ravens are the team I bleed for.
On the side I coached HS football and basketball at Vista HS in suburban San Diego until the last year when I had a health issue that has really had me cut back on hobbies, traveling etc.. I've had the pleasure of meeting other board members in AZ, san Diego and of course Baltimore. Hopefully health willing I'll be able to meet more of you in the coming season.

Wow, a pic of DRay. You look NOTHING like I expected.

As for me, I'm 24 (soon to be 25). I live in Perry Hall with my girlfriend (Giants fan but slowly converting her to the good side), and one of my good friends who rents my extra room. I work for the federal government as a database administrator at a large agency that has its headquarters in Woodlawn. (I'm sure you can guess which one). I've been a huge Ravens fan since they moved here when I was 14, and I try to make it out to as many games a year as I can despite not yet having a PSL. I met many board veterans on Christmas last year at the Vikings game and tailgate and enjoyed meeting you all.

In my spare time, I enjoy drinking large quantities of alcohol in the Fells Point area, and you can find me there every weekend. Check me out on Myspace if you'd like to know more or see a pic for some reason: http://www.myspace.com/losac

Ron, I had no idea. Did Mike Meyers pay you any royalties for portraying you.

We live in Westminster and have an english bulldog named Bogey.
Amy is going to pick up our new dog Saturday, a 1 year old Beagle named...BOGEY!

I live in Westminster on the rolling .11 acres of The Windbag Estates with my wonderful wife, Amy and our two children, Joey and Allison.

I am a struggling entrepenuer who sells hot tubs and saunas. As such I send out "direct mail" pieces to many Carroll County residents.

My intro to football was at birth. My dad was a Colts season ticket holder. He took my older brother for years. When I was 6 my brother couldn't go because he was sick. My mom convinced my dad to take me, he figured a 6 year old wouldn't make it through a game or know what was going on but my mom knew better since I was locked on the tube for the games. Anyway, after the game my dad decided to get me a season ticket for the following year but the only thing available were end zone seats (in those "new" bleachers that were added for football). Anyway, we all 3 squeezed into the upper deck seating (thank goodness for bench seats and my small 7 year old ass). We kept those tickets until the back-stabbing drunk stole the team and left.

When the Ravens came I was working Sundays so I couldn't go to many games. I was also somewhat apprehensive about supporting a stolen team. But once the Browns were assured of return it became easy and in 1999 I changed jobs and got season tickets just in time for 2000. Our first game in our new seats was the Jacksonville comeback. My first two away trips were both Pittspuke, December of 1999 with a few of the old folks around here and the second was opening day in 2000 when we shut them out.

Bio:
I'm 30 originally from Bel Air where my family still lives. Graduated Bel Air high school, screwed around in college initially but eventually went back (UMUC) to get my BS degree in Information systems. I live in Newark, DE and currently work in Philly for a financial services (mainly stocks and options trading) company in the IT department. I am considered one of the few "unix guys" in our department. Been working with Sun Solaris systems since 99 and Linux boxes since 2001.

Before the Colts left:
I went to a couple of Colts games in 82 and 83 when I was 7 and 8 starting my love for football.

After the Colts left:
Guided by my dad, I became a very big College Football fan mainly routing for the Terps and Penn State. I still watched the NFL, but didn't really have a favorite team and mainly routed for teams I disliked to lose.

Expansion Derby:
Initially I enjoyed opening the paper and reading about what the new rumors were about Baltimore eventually getting an expansion team. I figured we had it in the bag compared to the other cities we were up against. I remember at one time actually being hopeful that the Cardinals would move to Baltimore so we could play the Redskins twice a year. I was obviously dissapointed that Baltimore wasn't awarded an expansion team during the expansion derby. After expansion was over the rumors started flying about the Patriots, Bucs, Bengals, Saints etc. moving to Baltimore, which eventually made me lose interest with all of the speculation always ending in rejection. Even after the news leaked of the Browns moving to Baltimore I remember thinking that the NFL would still find a way to screw us out of a team. When the Ravens actually took the field against the Raiders in the first official game it was like a dream finally realized.. a goal finally reached.. I was hooked. Even after the first few losing seasons I was just happy to have a NFL team of my own to route for and lose my voice over.

After the Ravens:
I got a job in Delaware in 1998, but the Ravens became my excuse to go back home and either go to a game or watch the game on tv with my dad. I go to 5 or 6 games every year and otherwise just deal with the friendly trash talk from the eagles fans here in Northern Delaware when I'm out with my Ravens gear on.

My old handle was mohara.

My folks are both from Baltimore.

My dad went to Mt. St. Joes, turned down a track scholarship to go to the Naval acadamy.

I live in Derwood, not Rockville, not Northeast Bethesda, not Southwest Olney, not Gaithersburg. DERWOOD.

I was about 18 when the Colts left and was devastated.

I'm an IT guy specializing in integration work.

I've got a wife and two girls with another girl on the way (shoot me now, kidding, my girls are wonderful).

Mista T invited me here. I was one of the Sunspot people that defected to Ravensnest2.

I'm not sure if I will stick with Moe the Crow but it has more pizazz than mohara.

Resume: H.S.: Edmondson High School. B.A. (Psychology) UMBC. M.A. (Psychology) U. of Baltimore. Ph.D. (Psychology) UMBC.

Work at Kennedy Krieger Institute. I also have been a jazz pianist since the age of 8. I am also Director of Music at a church in Silver Springs, Md. (That makes it rough for me to make most games).

Demographics: African American. Married. Age 31. I have a wonderful son. Love the diversity of Columbia.

- Was known as Superboller1, but I retired the username. Now, I am PurpleRulz. (What is funny is that folks at OH thought I was Nestor).

- I did not have an attachment with the Colts. They left at a time that I just followed baseball. I consider myself a pure Ravens fan.

- I loved the Orioles until Peter Cottontail Angeloser ran them into the toilet and down the toxic waste pipe.

- I was a member of the Sunspot board, but a poster told me about the ravens scout board.

-I was a member of orioleshangout for a brief second, and purchased their "plus" service, but cancelled it because it is just stuff you can get from minorleaguebaseball.com and from baseball america. I was banned from OH telling the truth about that joke of a franchise. It won't get better until Angelos sells. MASN won't help, because Angelos does not know what players to spend money on. I digress.

- I forgot what year I joined the Ravens scout board (I believe 2004), but I purchased the plus service.

- The board at scout just got too juvenile, and I was at a point of discontinuing posting over there. It was just ridiculous.

- I am glad to have this new board to talk. I would like to get to know you guys/gals.

- It is great to be a part of a new board. I respect what Tony and the crew is doing at this board.

- Win or lose, I love the Ravens. I have jerseys galore for myself, wife and son.

-Hopefully the rumor of us having more 4:00pm games come to fruition. It allows me to get to some more games.

- I have never been to OPACY. At first the reason was because I was a poor college student. Now, I just refuse to give Angelos my money. I am thinking about going to the rally which would mark my first time at OPACY. My last baseball game attended was September of 1988 at Memorial Stadium. It was a field trip with the St. Bernardine's Catholic Church.

I'm 34. Raised in catonsville. Went to high school in Howard County. Attended UMD College Park, then stepped down to UMBC, then stepped down to Catonsville Communitty College, finally stepping down and graduated from a small college in Pittsburgh. I lived in Canton after college with a brief stint in Gainesville, Florida. I have just recently left Canton to move to beautiful and sunny Glen Burnie with my beautiful wife, Donna. I now have two harleys in the garage and a trailer and a pickup on the front lawn. I fit right in.

I work in the funeral business. As far as football, I grew up a front running 49er fan. I've had raven season tix since they've been here. I have seats in the upper deck endzone, because that's what i could afford when i bought them. Unfortunately I work or am out of town nearly every Sunday there is a home game this season, so I sold this season's tix to a friend of mine that owns a title company. Next season I should be back.

Good to see so many familiar faces around here.

I'm the second Ben on this thread who is from England. I'm 28 and am from York in the north of the country. It's quite similar to York, PA, but older and with more pubs. And no Harley factory.

Attended university in Manchester, UK where I graduated with a degree in law. Was all set to become a lawyer when I decided to hell with that, took a year off, got a job with an extremely specialized travel company, and was promptly sent to the U.S. to open an East Coast office. Initially based just outside of D.C., moved up to Baltimore in the nick of time to become a Ravens fan. We have been fairly successful in the five and a half years since I opened the office and are right in the middle of downtown Baltimore.

Had no idea about this game of football but learned with the assistance of new found friends in the bars of Fell's Point, where I still live. Formed an immediate affinity with the local team in purple, attended my first game in 2002 (Cincinnatti) and got hooked. After buying season tickets on ebay for the 2004 season, I'm now going into my second season as a PSL holder and very proud of that I am.

My other interests include English Football, or 'soccer', my team being Newcastle United, who will win a trophy in my lifetime, honest and golfing around Maryland (although I don't do Clifton Park anymore).

I am still with my girlfriend of 4 1/2 years who was a Giants fan when we met, but has since converted to the good guys. I guess I should make an honest woman of her soon, particularly given the increasing amount of crap I get about it from my fellow tailgaters, and as a reward for her converting to Ravendom.

These days I can be found prior to games in Lot J with above mentioned unruly mob, drinking belgian ales and stealing other people's cigars.

I am Paul 41 years old the last time I looked.I am in Facility Management.
Which is a fancy name for setting up offices. So people can move in and mess them up.

I was born in London England, have moved around the country thanks to my fathers job, while also screwing up my education. No bitterness there whatsoever.:p

I am married to Deb the most beautiful woman in my world.[Sick buckets can be found near the exit].

I got into football when my Dad came back from the States with some american football figures.I started following American football on Armed forces radio in the 1980's.Went to most American Bowls at Wembley. And followed the London Monarchs of the WLAF.Played American football for 5 years in England.I once recorded 22 tackles in a game from my strong safety position.I sometimes believed I knew more about the game than these American coaches who came over.Especially the one who was reading from the "guide to American football,"book.

My first vision of football was NFL films, the story of the Greatest QB's,and the Greatest Game. Johnny U,and the Baltimore Colts must have planted a seed in my mind.

Some 11 years later being a fan of the NFL and its players, but not of a team.
The Browns became the Ravens. The Ravens are very important in London, the Tower of London that is.

In deference to an ancient legend, a number of ravens are fed at the Tower at government expense; so long as the ravens remain at the Tower (which is ensured by trimming the flight feathers of the ravens), Britain is safe from invasion. Legend also says that should the ravens leave the Tower of London, the White Tower will crumble and the Monarch will fall, thus, the ravens are the palladium of the realm. The names of the eight ravens currently in the tower are Gwylum, Thor, Hugine, Munin, Branwen, Bran, Gundulf, and Baldrick. In 2006, ahead of the H5N1 avian flu scare, the ravens were moved indoors, and have since remained there.

So there you have it,Johnny U and the Tower of London Ravens. Finally made me follow an NFL team in 1996.

It took a long time to find the right partner in my life. And the result has been heaven. The same can be said for choosing the Ravens.

I also forgot to add that my wife got me into mountainbiking. After I started going insane after retiring from football. You ever seen a caged tiger, well thats what I was like after I couldn't knock the snot out of someone carrying a pigskin.

The mountainbiking we did,was downhill.Which is flying down a mountain at about 20-30 mph, zipping between trees, going off jumps and dropoffs. And hopefully we were in one piece at the bottom.Crashing was pretty cool to.
But as we are getting older we just stick to freeride.

Beer cold is good and look forward to meeting you and the crew finally Greg.
When we are over for the Oakland game. Can everyone just please chill on the planes so we get no hassle coming over.Thanks.

I will do what you said tomorrow when I login.Hopefully that will sort it.I remember a similar beef when YBR changed its address.

Just like to add.As we are 5 hours ahead of you guys and girls.Night games suck.So I won't be able to be up for the Iggles game due to work the following morning.

Im 29 and grew up in Lutherville.

Went to Towson HS and Radford University (Yes, I know the STD situation there) and Im clean :)

Got a degree in communications and interned at ComcastSportsnet in Philly. After the internship was up, they offered me a fulltime gig. It was my dream job so I thought.

After working there through the 2000 football season (it was great celebrating the Ravens SB victory with all Philly people) I transferred down to the "new" CSN in Bethesda. Huge mistake. As most of you know, that station is still horrendous and it was when it was launched. I stayed there for about 6 months and couldn't take it anymore. Talk about 3rd rate operation.

After that I got into home improvement and worked with another guy for about 4 years.

I decided to branch off and work for myself doing painting and drywall work. I started in Jan of 2005 and haven't looked back. I love being my own boss. Never thought in a million years I'd be doing this but here I am.

My girlfriend and I bought a house in Perry Hall in March.

I've got 2 PSLs. I sit in 510 and have another in 539.

RavenTD, thanks for the Ravens history. Don't know why but learning their names was pretty cool!

Thanks,I could also tell you about the London Ravens American football team
which I supported. They were so dominant for a long time. And had a pretty good Raven logo in the 80's.Maybe it was all destiny that all these pieces made a whole.

Here's one of the Ravens getting a checkup from a Beefeater.

Wow. Oh what the hell, I have never had anything to hide.

Actually born in Milford Connecticut, my family moved down here to Maryland when I was 6 months old. So I consider myself a Maryland native no matter what the law says!

I'm 32 years old and currently living in Hamilton, but getting ready to move back into the Edgewood/Joppa area where I spent the bulk of my life. I have a wife of 4 years, and a wonderful 22 month old son (who's all of a sudden hitting those Terrible Two's a little early!). I won't lie, life is good.

I am a graduate of Joppatowne High School and Villa Julie College with a CIS degree. But since I hate programming I switched gears and decided to move to the hardware side of things. I am currently a Network Engineer for a small tech firm in Timonium that specializes in Microsoft Windows networks for small-medium sized companies.

Also, like PurpleRulez, I have been playing the piano since the age of 9. I am the piano player for Mood Swings Big Band, which I have been doing for the last 8 years. We've played for almost everyone, including 2 Presidents (yes of the United States), Governor's, Mayors, and a host of other big time events. Actually we're playing at Boordy Vineyards on the 26th for anyone in the Loch Raven area that would like to come out. I'll be there. I have also been the music director for B'nai Torah, which is a small Synagogue group in Bel Air. I haven't done that in a while.

Anyway, Baltimore sports fanatacism hasn't come easy for me. My parent's really weren't into sports much. My mother is what you call a fairweather Yankee's fan (being from the Bronx and all), and we've been to a smattering of Orioles games. Which unfortunately is more than I've been to in the last 9 years. It's unfortunate because up until Angelos ran the team into the ground, my friends and I not only talked Baseball like it was our first passion (because in many cases it was), but in my early 20's I spent 1/4th of my life at Camden Yards. Now my loyalty is at M&T.

Football is what I became in love with after the Ravens came along. Not really being attentive when the Colts left for Indy, I first tried getting into Football with the Baltimore Stallions CFL team. After watching us get bent over by the NFL on expansion, I credit Baltimore for trying to get SOMETHING Football in here. It was actually enjoyable, and I started to get to understand what was going on. Then as quick as it came, the Stallions left. When the Ravens came, I swore I was going to start trying to get into it. As hard as it was, by 1999 when the Ravens finally went 8-8, I had made the effort to learn the players names and start checking out other teams in the league. And today I call my self a proud and die-hard Football fan, and Ravens fan forever, no matter where I will ever go. I am a proud PSL holder and happily sit up in the 510's right above where the players are introduced. And yes, I still get teary-eyed everytime I hear "God Bless the USA" and watch the various color guards march onto the field.

Also, as you guys know by now I am an avid gamer, and I love my Football games. I miss 2K, but I'm getting used to Madden.

Well, since RM showed his picture, I will show one as well. Not that you can't go to NLG and see me somehow. But I totally geeked out last year in New York at the Madden pre-launch event and hung out with Donovan McNabb, Dante Culpepper, Chad Johnson, Byron Leftwich, Marcus Trufant, Tony Gonzales, and a couple other guys. Don't ask me what was wrong with my hair that day. I was embarrassed looking back at these:

http://www.nlgaming.com/games/2934/24x7/6-28 Mike and Donovan.jpghttp://www.nlgaming.com/games/2934/24x7/6-28 Mike and Tony.jpg

Yes, that is a totally gay moment I had with Tony Gonzales. Really, he put his arm around me first, what was I supposed to do???

Anyway, that's me. Good ol' StingerNLG.

We have been fairly successful in the five and a half years since I opened the office and are right in the middle of downtown Baltimore.

Fellspoint, I work in downtown Baltimore too -- we should get together for lunch sometime!

As for me, I was born in Maryland but my family moved to central Florida when I was about two, and grew up there. But I became a Baltimore Colts fan because my mother was a huge Colts fan, and it really hurt when they moved. I never really adopted another NFL team during the dark ages, although I still followed the game, so needless to say , I was thrilled when the NFL returned. (I moved back to Maryland in the mid-80s and live in Columbia).

I'm a market research analyst, having worked in health care most of my career at places like Georgetown University Medical Center and Sinai Hospital, but now work at an international humanitarian organization that works around the world but is headquartered in Baltimore, where I love to work. I drive by the Vault every day on my way to and from work, which I never get tired of.

I don't have season tickets but see a game every once in a while, and hope to finally meet some of the very enjoyable people here -- I did finally find Lot J at the preseason game last Friday, but did not have the time to find the group (there was no sign Greg, or whoever said there would be one!).

I'm glad to see this board, as YBR was getting pretty ugly.

I guess I should make an honest woman of her soon, particularly given the increasing amount of crap I get about it from my fellow tailgaters...

Who would that be, Ben?

Ah..let's see. Grew up in Glen Burnie (the nice part), went to Old Mill HS, then to technical school to be a whiz-bang computer programmer. Ended up bouncing around Millersville, Severna Park, then to southern PA, now back in the People's Republic of Maryland, in Parkville (nowhere near "Bob") where my fiancee and I are enjoying life with her son and my youngest son, whom I just successfully wrestled away from battle-axe #2. A couple of hours and a few beers and you might want to buy the screenplay to that tragedy, trust me no-one could dream it up.

Never did like programming, but did like operations and management. Transitioned into a career in IT security and compliance a few years ago. It pays the bills, including those of two battle-axes

Was a Colts fan starting in 1972. Wondered for a while why dad threw his shoes at the TV muttering "Joe Thomas...". Witnessed the great 1975 season and the emergence of a true warrior at QB, Bert Jones. Listened to Chuck Thompson call the 1977 Christmas Eve double-OT palyoff game on radio. Went to as many games as I could. Loved that team, and was heartbroken on March 28, 1984. Couldn't quite throw my soul into the Stallions, but was on top of the world on November 6, 1995. Football was back! Attended many games, what memories. The Denver playoff game, the coldest one of all. The Bengal game in '03 with The Arrogant Moderator, cold as shit but loud as any since JAX '00. The Seattle game in '03. Yup, I stayed. Got my first season tickets in 2004 (Section 536).

Started posting on the YBR board early in 2002, and hooked up with many members at the tailgate. I've been a fixture since, with so many great Ravens fans and honestly great people. So here I am, and I am looking for great things from this board.

Born and raised in and around Baltimore...married, twin daughters in college. A Colts fan since I could breathe, endured the 12 lost years before welcoming the Ravens.

Webmaster of Bigravensfan.net “better than a halftime quickie” for 3 years, including the Super Bowl year, a truly magical journey. Wrote a weekly Ravens column for Comcast’s InYourTown web site and sparred with Ken Rosenthal (a great sport) on a regular basis. :069:

Had the distinct privilege of partnering with Steve Gardner and the legendary Ravens Nest 2 board, providing content, contests and general goofiness. “Big Steve” may be the most underappreciated man in the internet sports world and I wish him great fortune.

The thing that I am most happy about, however, is having introduced some top quality long-time members to the board, members like BaltimoreRon, a died-in-the-wool Ravens fan but more importantly, a class act in every way. Ron, myself and others had “rival” sites at the time but went out of our way to promote each other’s space, as we shared a common love of the Ravens --that’s all that mattered. We had no interest in promoting ourselves, only the team, which was still relatively young. That kind of unselfishness and teamwork is rare these days and I’ll never forget those times. The world would be a much better place if there were more...uh, BaltimoreRons. :)

Closed the site in 2002 to enjoy more family time and to pursue other interests.

Other tidbits..…

Member of a short-lived vaudeville team in the late 90’s, “Bigravensfan & J.T. Facts”, until my partner was committed to a sanitarium in Ohio.

Introduced the founding members to steriods (before testing) , Gerg & Mr. T had 3 posts between them & Fanatic didn’t know what an exclamation point was until I hooked them up….it’ll all be in my book.

Led an unsuccessful campaign to institute a national holiday in honor of actress Drew Barrymore (was dragged off the Congressional building steps and beaten).

Co-authored two books, “Tub Swimming Made Easy” and “Green Eyes: A Pez Addiction”.

Currently involved in fatherhood, finance, web site optimization, writing and gearing up for another season of the Baltimore Ravens!

Okey doke, here we go. My real name is Tom, and I'm a ninteen year old rising junior at the University of Maryland, College Park. I was born in Ba'er Yaakov, Israel, and I've held dual citizenship since the moment I was born. I actually got a draft notice when I was seventeen, and I had to go to the Embassy in Washington to get an exemption. If I ever moved back, I would have to serve. From grades 1-12 I attended Yeshivat Rambam, and probably none of you knows what in the hell that is, even though it's right in Baltimore on Park Heights Avenue.

I'm currently breezing through school at a record pace. I'm an accounting/finance/economics triple major. Sure, I have a 4.0, but that's because Maryland doesn't weight +/- grading into GPAs (yet). If they did, mine would be 4.09, which very well could be the highest cumulative among 20,000 undergrads (at least according to my adviser). I wish my classes would be harder, but it's really allowed me to enjoy college A LOT. By far greatest time of my life.

I've been on the Maryland boxing team for the past two years. There is no NCAA boxing (long story short, someone died in the 50's, so it's been banned since then), so although it's technically just a club sport, it's the highest level of collegiate boxing. I'm calling it quits after last year because of the time commitment - essentially the same as if it were a varsity sport - because I'd like to have time to get involved in other extracurriculars. I'm in a theatre troupe when I can squeeze the time, and I also work as a local marketing rep for a big entertainment marketing company based in LA, which is a lot of fun and some nice supplemental income. Once I figure out exactly what field I want to enter, I'll probably be hitting up a professional organization - probably ABA or FBIS.

Didn't have the male role model growing up, so I had to figure the whole sports thing out on my own. And I'm damn glad I did. I love my Ravens, Terps, and yes, even Orioles, and I don't know what I'd do without them.

I could probably ramble about tons of other stuff. I'm currently addicted to Final Fantasy XI (yes, I can be a jock and a nerd at the same time - in fact, I'm quite good at it). If anyone has played an MMO before, you'll know what I'm talking about. I love any kind of competition. I like to chill as much as I like going out, and I definitely as happy that I have the free time to do what I want on weekends (though Saturdays and Sundays fall semester are pretty much completely booked solid). Yes, I do still have time for girls with all that stuff. I had a wonderful girlfriend with whom I was (am?) very much in love, but we're taking some time right now because, as bad as it sounds, we both feel that we shouldn't "waste" college on one relationship. Smart money says we get back together, maybe sooner than we think.

Speaking of which, if you've been on YBR for more than a few months, you know that my absolute passion is the NFL draft. I spend countless hours and hours not only watching college football, but learning about players, seeing different viewpoints, and forming diverse, complete opinions. By the time draft day rolls around, I'm operating almost completely on "feel" rather than reports, and I think a lot of GMs work that way, too. I don't want to toot my own horn, lest my, er, critics get upset, but I make s list of players I "like" and players I "don't like" before each draft, and I seem to be in tune pretty well with FOs, because many of the players on my "like" list went earlier than expected and the opposite for the "don't like" list. I make no claims to being perfect, but this is my love. Honestly, I probably love it as much as the game itself.

Erm... What else? I forget. If you wanna know anything else, just ask me!

Hi my name is Tim and I'm an alcoholic. Whoops wrong board:D I'm 21 years old and absolutely love football. I've been a diehard fan since the Ravens came to Baltimore. Growing up I was told all about the Baltimore Colts by my family. Johnny Unitas actually used to visit a friend of his that lived right across the street from me. I was born and raised in Baltimore and will probably die in Baltimore. I'm really into music and play both guitar and bass. I grew listening to music like Kiss and Motley Crue. My older brother played that type of stuff all the time and it stuck with me.

Well I guess that's enought about me for now. I look forward to meeting new people here, and contributing to this board in a positive way.

I'll keep the ball rolling...

My name is Matt, was in Maryland from the time I was in second grade or so (escaped from philly's jersey 'burbs) until I left Maryland for college. I was in Harford County, so if any of you happened to swim or run track then you probably ran into me. Never played organized football, though my high school coach got pissed at my buddy Jeremy and I cause we never played for him (we both made the state track meet in the 100m dash).

Used to play a lot of trumpet when I was younger, it was during the summer of ska or the swing revolution (whichever you want to call it)...funny how long that lasted...haha.

Since then went to cleveland (case western reserve university...no not a militiary school) and watched the Ravens win the superbowl behind a locked door with my Balt-DC area Ravens crew. Nothing like running around campus celebrating then realizing that you'll probably get killed...

Since then worked for a bit as a mechanical design engineer, but now I am back in school again at the university of illinois for law school. I must be some kind of sadist.

It's always been a struggle for me to be able to watch Ravens games, even more now that I don't live in a city in the same division. Who wants to watch the NFC north? >< But it's been a ritual to get to a bar that has the game along with fantasy football.

Nice to hear things about everyone, looking forward to talking about Ravens football.

I was born (too many years ago to count) and raised in upstate New York, the product of a Maryland native Colts Fan Mother and a Western PA native Squeeler Fan Father. I have always taken after my mother.

I moved to Buffalo for a few years (OJ era, actually) but had a hard time giving up my allegiance to the Colts so I finally moved to Maryland. The second year of my season ticket owning, the devil stole my team and broke my heart. I had to revert to being a Bills fan again. At least the Bills were regularly in the Super Bowl.

The day the Ravens put the application form for PSLs in the Sun, I cut it out, filled it out, and sent it in. I'm one of the "originals" whose name is on the wall. I have not yet missed a Ravens game and, death aside, don't plan to either.

I have bounced around messages boards (CNNSI, Ravenstalk, several versions of the Insiders) for years, always as some version of "Bird Fan". Some of the people I met through the boards have become good friends.

I'm a proud member of Ravens Nest 10 (the good part of Glen Burnie) and you can find me tailgating in Lot J before every home game. Sometimes I make soup.

Whats Up boys,

I was Born and raised in Brooklyn New York. I grew up in the Sheepshead bay area, which is right next to Brighton Beach and very close to Coney Island.

Before moving to NOVA I had worked in Several restaurants in Philadelphia and New York city as a chef (I've actually worked at the four seasons and Tavern on the Green). After a while I found the joy and simplicity of running two Pizzeria's for a good friend of mine in NYC. It was fun but the time that I spent managing the stores made me move in a different direction. One day I might do it again. I have to say it is very satisfying.

Currently I work in the IT department of my company taking care of web development, Network issues with our servers and on occassion help desk issues, . Its easy work and have lots of time to devote towards reading about the ravens and fantasy football :069:

I was able to get season tickets to the Ravens before I moved from my home in NYC before I moved to NOVA. I was stunned that it was so easy considering that in NY/NJ the two teams have like 20 year wait lists. When I got the tickets I denounced my loyalties towards the Jets and Made the Ravens my primary Football team. I still follow the Jets but I now Bleed Purple. However even though I switch my loyalties in the NFL my MLB team will always be the NY YANKEES.

Im done

This is a fun board...I've been a Ravens fan since their inception and I currently live in Altamonte Springs, Fl (but am coming back home to Pasadena for good on August 26!!!!!!!!!) and getting news down here about the Ravens is next to impossible. I check out the Sun every morning and listen to WNST (when the web site is working) just to get my daily Ravens fix.

My wife and I used to go to Memorial Stadium on the Friday before general admission tickets went on sale and we camped out in front of the ticket office until Monday morning when the office opened. One year we were actually first in line (the Colts would sell 3,000 tickets and there 5,000 people in line). We did have a ball on those week-ends even though family and friends thought we were jerks. Attended the last Colt game with my 7 year old son and 3 year old daughter (of course we didn't know then that it was the last Colt game).

While I love and embrace the Ravens it still ticks me off that our Colts are in the Hall of Fame under the name Indianapolis...BOY THAT REALLY STILL TICKS ME OFF!!!:141847_smmackbottom (that's me with Bob Irsay).

Well, I am so looking forward to being back home "up north" as they say down here and getting re-involved with the Purple and Black

Have worked in the IT field for the past 15 years or so. Started as a help desk/network admin/web developer at Mount Washington Pediatric Hospital. I learned a ton on the job and moved on to consulting. I worked at Price Waterhouse in IT security for a little more than five years. Got to see the world and get paid for it, Brazil, Holland, Vancouver, Saskatoon, basically all of Canada and some cool and really shitty cities in the US. Went on to work in the intelligence community with Booz Allen Hamilton for a couple of years before I took a tour of the US .gov world. I presently own an IT staffing/consulting practice with offices in BAlt/DC/N VA. Its year one and as Greg can attest its WAYYYYYYY harder than working for someone else.

My first football game was Xmas eve, 1977 Colts/Raiders double OT loss. I went to Colts games sporadically before they finally left. Followed the ups and downs of the expansion process and the rumors of other teams coming here and when the Browns were announced I stayed up all night calling everyone I knew. I've been to every game since 1996 except for when my wife was in the hospital. I'd say I missed 2 regular season games since the Ravens started. Since then, I've been married and have 2 girls and a boy. I'm looking forward to the days when they are big enough to go to the games. We live in Timonium. Eight of us sit in section 141 LL endzone.

I've been playing guitar since the 8th grade. I recently cleaned up my 1979 Gibson SG and bought VOX Valtronix amp and started playing again. It sounds awesome and its a really good time. I also have a digital piano and have learned a couple of tunes but mostly want my kids to grow up with music and have an opportunity to play at a young age.

Hi All,
My name is Rob and I'm in my mid 40s, graduated from Archbishop Curley HS in '77. Tried the college thing at Towson but got tired of it and joined the Navy in 1980. Got to see a bunch of the world, including Qatar, Bahrain, Saudi Arabia, Kenya, Scotland, England and Ireland. The last three were my favorites, for sure.
After I did my tour, I got out and went back to school at Towson and got a degree in Geography.
I worked for a couple of banks doing accouting stuff and eventually landed a job at the MD Science Center. The finance guy there decided I should learn networking so I got into IT. Eventually I got a pretty good job with Alex. Brown in Baltimore in their IT department. They decided to merge and merge again, then Deutsche Bank decided to cut loose most of IT. I was part of the purge and decided to take up tech writing, getting a job in Stevensville MD.

I did so well at the tech writing gig that the Navy base here in Panama City Beach FL wanted me. So my company transferred me down here to the World's Most Beautiful Beaches, as they call it. (I call it FLA, for F*cking Lower Alabama). Its not a bad place at all though.

I've been a PSL owner since the beginning in 1996 (I'm on the wall) and attended every single regular season home game every year until last year, when I was sent down here on a business trip. I was also fortunate enough to be selected to buy tix for Super Bowl XXXV and we drove down. During the trip I had an abscessed tooth but still had the time of a lifetime, seeing MY team win the Super Bowl!

I will still go to games, but sell the others to my friends in Ravens Roost 18, where I am their webmaster. I think they party near you guys in Lot J.
Also, I learned about the YBR board from Greg and Mista T when I inquired about joining their Annapolis Roost. Greg invited me out to his board party that summer where I met a number of those folks. Thanks Mista T for inviting over here to this board, YBR was getting uncool.
I don't post a whole lot but love reading all you people's great postings. I only add when I think I might be constructive.

BRF - I'm flattered and a little embarassed. Thank you for the kind words. At the time, your site was the best out there, and like you said, it was all about the Ravens and not about self-promotion. I didn't see the passion and I thought that maybe I could (in my own small way) share that passion and maybe spark it in other potential fans. However, Super Bowl XXXV took care of that for me. ;)

Good to see a lot of my original internet buddies together again, like it used to be. You guys are all a part of my extended family and you definitely hold a special place in my Ravens memories. Let's make some more together.

I was born in York, PA but moved around a lot as a kid. Grew up in a BIG Phillies/Eagles/PSU house but I never really found my love for PA or it’s sports franchises. At 17 I headed west were I spent 4 years working 20 hour days to get through college and a little grad school. Graduated with a major in Mass Communications and a minor in Broadcast Journalism. I lasted all of about 2 years doing weekend radio shows and voice-over work in Oakland before realizing how much I disliked having to work 3 jobs in order to eat and pay the rent.

Moved to Baltimore as the 80s made way for the 90s and instantly fell in love with the city, its history, and especially its people. I framed houses for a number of years before going back to school for IT. I am now a 30-something IT guy currently working at the National Aquarium.

I became a Stallions fan mainly because I lived 4 blocks from Memorial and could get seats for $7 a game. I have been a Baltimore sports nut ever since. I still cheer for PSU and Cal on Saturdays but Sundays belong to the Ravens.

I have an amazing wife of 5 years and a curmudgeonly cat (http://home.comcast.net/~dharma_lion/DCP00222_edited.jpg)(or is it the other way around?), but no kids. We enjoy bad movies, good food, a well poured Guinness, and the RAVENS!

Stinger,

Mood Swings played at my wedding in 99 at the Hunt Valley Golf Club. Swing dancing was all the rage back then.

No kidding! We've done a few weddings at the HVGC. If you remember the piano player or someone singing "Great Balls of Fire", that was me. I'm a lot better at playing Rock and Roll, and Big Band, and Pop piano than I am straight up Jazz or Cocktail piano. So that became my signature song.

As time has gone on, we've morphed into a band that does about 100 years of music. Anything from the swing stuff to 70's and 80's. I do a lot more than I had back then. Elvis, Billy Joel, KC & the Sunshine Band (yep, somehow I got suckered into That's the Way I like it. I hate it even to this day) and such. Anyway, I hope you enjoyed us that night maniac!

Oh man, NOW I remember that wedding! I actually haven't seen Mickey Light in quite a while. :) You guys were really into it, which always makes us into it.

You and your wife should come see us on the 26th at Boordy Vineyards. If you're still into Sinatra we've got a singer now that I am NOT kidding sounds exactly like him. And that's his real voice!

Stringer, don't the Mood Swings play at Bordy's a few times a year. We keep meaning to see you guys play since just around the bend.
As for me I'm not as old as Ted, went to Towson HS in the early seventies and one day I woke up and it was like 1985. I had a wife and kid and the whole bit. BTW for all you youngins the 80's suck, your music sucked the damn styles sucked and that's when the NFL sucked. Had season tickets to the Colts in the mid seventies, and got to see one of Baltimore's and the NFL's greatest Quarterbacks Bert Jones. Of course not as good as JU.

Yeah, we usually do 2 a year. We played once in July already, and then the 26th. We also play up in Stewartstown, PA at the Naylor Vineyards twice a year too if you get up there. We'll be there this Saturday, and then September 9th.

If you do get to Boordy next year, you have to come over and say hello when we break.

BTW, again not that you can't go to my website and see it, but since everyone is comfortable with names, mine is Mike.

That's me about 13 years ago...to the person who stole my drum kit from the self storage facility...I hope you enjoy them you thieving bastard!

Ok, I guess I'll use this reply to tell a bit about myself. So ladies, pull up a seat and get naked.....oops, wrong website.:p

I'm 50 years old...but actually look much younger than that. I'm rather handsome and deboner...eh...debonior' or however you spell it.

I was born in a little town smack dab in the center of Pennsylvania, called Bellefonte...about 10 miles from State College. It was a raging snow storm outside, but it was St. Pattys day, and I said I be comin out today boys!

My dad(who was in the Navy) was on a ship outside of Boston, and made his way to see me soon afterward. We soon scooted down to Key West Fl for a couple of years, then to Morrocco Africa, New Jersey, Yokohama Japan, then to Forrest Heights MD for 5th and 6th grade. Back to PA while dad was on a ship. Then to Pensacola Florida where I graduated from Escambia High School....the same school Emmitt Smith would later graduate from....You might say, I blazed the trail for him.ZZzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzz......

Oh! Sorry, dozed off for a sec. I started out a Steeler fan as far as football...but growing up was more of a baseball fan(Go Pirates! Just to piss all you O's fans off:D ). I did play nose guard on a league team when I was 15...hence where the "89" comes from, as that was my number.

When the Steelers played the Cowboys in the SB for the 2nd time, I was getting more interested in Football as a spectator and since the Steelers had already won a couple of SB's at that time, and because I've always believed Texas to be my spiritual home(hence the TEXAS tattoo on my left arm), decided to root for the Cowboys....(I also rooted for the Cowboys in SBV, just to piss all you old Colts fans off:D ).

After retiring from the Navy...which included two stints in MD...Annapolis at the Naval Academy 1982-1984( yep, I was here when the Colts departed)...and my final duty station the National Naval Medical Center in Bethesda...I decided to stay in MD for good. Got divorced, the Ex took my two boys with her down to FLorida....Lived in Gaithersburg and Silver Spring. Met a wonderful lady who I've shared 10 years of marriage with. We lived in Germantown for 4 years and then just last year moved out west to Hagerstown.

My youngest son is attending Baltimore International College, training to be a chef. My oldest is in construction down in Florida.

When the Ravens came into existence, I thought "oh goody, a local team I can root for that's NOT the Redskins". Got free tickets to the final game of the '98 season... walked into the stadium still a Cowboys fan, walked out a Ravens fan...I done caught the purple fever!

Made it to at least one game a year...afterwards....in 2000 got to go to 3 games including the great game over the Jags, and the Denver Playoff victory.

Finally got season tickets in 2002, and am gearing up for another great year of Ravens football, tailgating and sharing with my friends!

My name is christopher I'm crowdog's son. I go to Baltimore International College. I just finished my 1st year and getting ready to start my 2nd. Dad did not mention that he was stationed in HI where my brother and me were born on the Island of Oahu. At the age of 3 we took a road trip from Cali stopped in Dallas Texas to visit my moms family than we visited dads parents in Pensacola FL. and last in MD. and as my dad mentioned I moved to FL. with my mom and stepdad. Later I found myself at a boarding school in west TN where I did all 4 years of high school. Went back to FL. for six months to work and save up money before comming up here to B-more for school in Jan. 06.

Now it's time for football, when I was born dad was a cowboys fan so I was for 12 years until I converted to a Bucs fan. So after 7 years and living up here I'm converting to being a Ravens fan. I always liked the Ravens because I could finaly root for a MD team. My dad started to convert me to being a full fledged Ravens fan during the last game of the 03 season (That was my first football game I attended).

Current Occupation: GIS Analyst
Hobbies: player in LTRC Over 30 Baseball League, DVD collecting (Sports & Concerts)

I was born and raised in Baltimore and have lived in the area all my life except for a 2 year mistake where I lived in Redskin country because of work. :(

As a kid I was a Colts fan, and still consider anything that franchise did until 1983 OUR history. It's the players, the city and the fans that witnessed it all that matter. What the NFL and a bunch of lawyers say is meaningless to me. I still hate seeing that horseshoe, but most likely at age 38 am in the last generation of Baltimoreans that feel that way.

When the Colts moved, I never really adopted another team and for that I'm glad. I did become a Stallions season ticket holder for both seasons and enjoyed those games a lot. Once the Ravens landed, I got a single PSL and sat with some friends. I have since moved seats in order to have 2 of my own so I could bring my wife along. We are in Section 513 row 5 sts 3 & 4.

In 1982 I moved to Savannah, Georgia and was the owner/operator of my own record store for most of the 80's until 1989 when I closed the store due to the change to compact discs.

Hey Deep Purple. Driving to Florida this summer we stayed overnight in Savannah. What a beautiful city. The wife and I plan on going back for a weekend trip. Loved the riverwalk area.

25 years old. University of Maryland alumnus. Currently a sales manager for a bank out in Colorado.

Ravens season ticket holder and PSL holder since 2003 in section 105. Had to sell my season tickets for this year since my father didn't have anyone else to go to the games with and he also gets free tickets from work quite often anyway.

My football following history began in 1989 while living in Fremont, CA, I was a huge 49ers fan, watching Montana, Taylor, Rice, Craig, Rathman Lott, etc. I still consider myself a 49ers fan, however I really like how passionate the fans in Baltimore are and I love the AFC North, the old school nature of the teams and the great rivalries. I also like smashmouth football. To me, the Ravens are renegades in the NFL. They don't even look mainstream, so I like the fact they are a cult team followed primarily within the Baltimore area. I think the fans in Baltimore get after it much harder than the wimps in DC.

Well...having seen admin dudes new sticky, I guess it's time to introduce myself. It also gives me a chance to thank MistaT for inviting me here.

So here it goes...

I'm a 25 year old Danish citizen living in Sweden, where I was born and raised. I could list all my schools, but I guess they wouldn't mean a whole lot to you, so let's just say I moved around a bit in southern Sweden as my father went from one hospital to another as his career progressed.

After high school I moved to Denmark for two years, which mostly made me realise that Sweden is probably closer to home than Denmark. So now I live in Malmö (check the Frappr map (http://www.frappr.com/ravens24x7) if you don't know where that is) and will be halfway through Med School by this fall.

I got into the NFL by way trying out Madden 2000, without getting anywhere. Would probably have lost interest if it wasn't for one of the Danish networks starting to air a 4 pm game and SNF. Was a great introduction to the sport since commentary was adapted to an audience with very limited understanding of the game.

Was a fan of football rather than a team until the offseason 2002. By then I was getting so deep into it that following the whole NFL just became too time consuming. Picked the Ravens as my team in part because it was based in the north east, in part because I've always had an affection for underdogs and with the salary cap purge this criteria was met and also meant that most of the players were as new to the team as I was, making it easy to get into.

I'm a member of the UKRavens, though not very active. This in part because I'm not very British. But mostly since English is my third language and it takes a little more effort, giving me ample time to think through my posts, making it hard for posts to escape the grasp of self censorship.

Finally figured out I rather have a shack on the beach than a mansion on a hill and moved to OC in '99. Spend most of my time ruining OC by building way too many condos.

Two wives, three daughters (no wonder I have so much grey hair). Member Ravens Roost #44, OC Parrothead Club, The Elks, OC Pleasure Club (one more drinking club and I get a free liver).

Well...

Some of you may know me as MuchaKilla. I'm 20 years old and am studying for an English major at the University of Brasilia, with plans for a graduate course in the US, UK or Oz (or what have you). I lived in Switzerland and Paraguay when I was small, and my affinity for the Ravens and Os started when my father moved to Bethesda, MD. I haven't had an opportunity to go to a Ravens game yet (my father has since moved to Tokyo), but I'm doing everything I can in order to make it a reality. Until then, there'll be a lot of whining about ESPN from me...

Why the Ravens? To be honest, I have no idea. My father is a Redskins fan (although we both like the Os), but for some reason rooting for Baltimore just felt...right, inside

My ideas may be a little radical, but please don't dismiss my ideas just because I'm not American :P I only seek to increase my knowledge

Gentlemen:

Born in Baltimore in the 60's and grew up in Greek Town (I barely speak Greek but I make a mean baklava). Went to Patterson High School when it was still a great school.

Grew up a Colts fan with fanatic Colts fan parents. Married my gorgeous husband in 1992, moved to Middle River, then Pasadena. Have two gorgeous daughters, 10 and 13. Moved to Ocean City in 1999 and it was the best thing we ever did. I'm a real Beachbaby.

Absolutely adore the Ravens and am a passionate fan. I hardly have a voice when I get home from the games. Season ticket holder since M&T opened up. Have a husband who loves sports as much as I do (it was a requirement). We ride the Ravens Roost 44 bus up from OC and are also members. Member of the Ocean City Parrothead Club also (have seen JB 25 times).

Oh, I have a cockatiel named Louie who says "GO RAVENS".

I earned a full athletic scholarship to the University of North Alabama where I majored in English and Psychology, finally graduating in 1999. I got my Masters in English in 2001 and I'm about to start working towards my PhD once I'm "fluent" in Latin, which should be next semster.

My name is Sports Steve LaPlanche and pro football has been my life since age three (3). That was when I attended my first Colts game with my Dad who had season tickets. My Dad was close friends with Johnny Unitas and I got to spend a lot of time around Mr. Unitas. I never missed another Colts home game after that game. When the Colts left town in the middle of the night I was the fan who remained there all night and was featured in The Baltimore Sun front page the next day. I watched Baltimore football history be taken in the middle of a cold raining night to Indy. It was so so sad. The story about me that night is written in the book When The Colts Belonged To Baltimore by Bill Gildea. The pages are 264-265 ?. I'm a proud member of Ravens Roost # 18 and enjoy spending time with the members of our proud cub from Glen Burnie, Maryland. A couple of years ago I had the real pleasure to be selected as the Ravens fan in the game Madden 2005 with Ray Lewis on the cover. I wear over 45 lbs. of beads to each game and sit in section 138. I add two sets of beads each game and will continue until I can't add anymore. I have Ravens season tickets and sit in section 138 Row 6 seat 14 if you're ever around the section stop by and say hi I always like meeting Raven fans as we rock.

Let's see here..

I'm a college student with a major in accounting and economics, and I plan to become a CPA immediately after I graduate. I may also be interested in financial planning or something along those lines. I hope to work for the federal government down in D.C. if everything works out; I don't want work to become my life and it seems that working for the government may be the way to go.

I'm from Maryland and been a Ravens fan since '98. I've played lacrosse most of my life and I've continued to play in college, though last season was my last because of the time commitment. School and my future career has become my top priority, and I figure I'll put in the work now so I can (hopefully) get ahead once I reach real world.

I've had a girlfriend for the last 4 years, whom I'm very serious with. We've had our bumps in the road, but this last year has been wonderful and I'm completely committed to spending my life with her. I'm incredibly thankful for knowing her, and I'm in the process of converting her to a BIG Ravens fan.

I like discussing politics to an extent, and I'm always willing to learn. On The Insider I usually hung around the C.A. forum and YBR; I usually read more than I post.

I play golf as much as I can, I try to go to the gym 4 days a week, and I'm a pretty family-oriented person.

Oh, and it's great to have another Ravens forum. It's amazing how much garbage was accumulating on YBR and hopefully this board remains civil and logical. Thanks for the invite, T!

Hi, I'm Alex, 20 from Calvert County, lived there all my life. I'm a student at Frostburg. I've been a Raven fan for about 4 years now, as I wasn't into football until I turned 16. My Dad took me to the Bronco MNF game in 02 and I loved it, from then on I was hooked.

Extracurriculars, hmm. I play the guitar (11 years), drums (9 years), bass (6 years), and keyboards (2 years), and I'm the guitarist/screamer in a metalcore band from So. MD. I am an avid gamer, from my first NES back when I was 5. I watch alot of movies.

I've been with the same girl since 9th grade. We're pretty much married by now.

I don't really have much else to write about, I've never been good about writing about myself. But heres a pic of me in action, though I'd imagine most of you could predict what I look like!

My name is Ken, but most know me as Sandy (to differentiate me from my father...Ken, Sr.), and I was siragusaslovechild over at YBR.

I was born outside Chicago, but grew up in Bowie and Baltimore.

Graduated from Arlington Baptist in '89, you know, the school that closes for snow on sunny 60 degree days.

Went to Shippensburg (PA) Univ as an Accounting major for a semester, but didn't like it much, so transferred to Bloomsburg (PA) Univ, and changed majors to the far more lucrative fields of History and Art History.

Later earned an MA in History at East Stroudsburg (PA) Univ, and am currently working toward my PhD in Modern European History at Kent State Univ (the Harvard of the Midwest!). I've taught some, but right now I'm working for a major web-based travel agency in Consumer Relations while I try to get this damned dissertation finished.

I'll be celebrating my one year wedding anniversary with the most patient woman ever to walk the earth next week. Hopefully, someday, I'll be half the man she tells everyone I am.

I haven't been to a football game in years, but I did get to see a few Army-Navy games as a kid, which is still the greatest spectacle in sports, bar none.

Was more of a Bears fan as a kid, but the shine went off that diamond when William Perry scored a TD in the Super Bowl, but Walter Payton didn't, one of the biggest disgraces in NFL history. After that, I didn't really have any loyalty to any particular team until the Ravens came to Baltimore. Thank God they won in my lifetime, because I'm convinced the Cubs won't win until the year after I pass (Bartman :grbac: )...but that's another story for another time.

Someday I'll finally get to come home to Maryland...there's no place like home...there's no place like home...there's no place like home..........

And a shout out to BJMH for pointing me to this new board where everything isn't a discussion about the starting QB position. If he would only quit threatening to inundate my inbox with Kajagoogoo downloads.....:jester:

I could name them all but then my Marine Corps training would kick in and I'd have to kill you. (Extended version will be posted when I have more time)

DON'T BRING NO GOD DAMN PISSBURGH STEELER FANS, BEYOUCH!!

Grew up in York PA, moved away as soon as possible. Why people move there from MD is beyond me. I've always been a fan of Baltimore teams, mainly because I was surrounded by Steelers fans. Graduated from Temple University in Philadelphia, where I developed an intense hatred of all Philadelphia teams. Met a Jersey girl and realized that she wouldn't live in MD, and I wouldn't live in NJ. So we moved to LA, then to Denver in 1994, where I became a casual Broncos fan until the Ravens arrived in Baltimore. Then the Broncos won 2 SuperBowls and Broncos fans transformed into the equivalent of Steelers fans, and I have since developed an intense hatred of the Broncos. Sometimes I think the only reason I'm a Baltimore fan is because I never lived in MD.

I have two boys, 4 and 7, both born in CO. The oldest wears Ravens gear to school at least 2 days a week, and the youngest is well on his way to Raven fandom.

Been hanging around the various boards (Sunspot, YBR) for my fill of the Ravens, and have developed friendships with many of the regulars despite not posting as much as I used to. Glad to see an alternative to the last board, which became pretty pathetic.

Looking forward to seeing everyone in Denver come October.

As my nic implies, my name is Derrick. I'm a 46 year old graduate of the University of Maryland. I've been married to the most amazing woman since 1990. Not only has she put up with my love of football, but she has learned more about the game then most of the men I know. For my birthday she bought me tickets to the first Ravens vs. Colts game in Indy. Fantastic time. We've been to every game in Ravens history at home, and bought season tickets after we were lucky to sit in the front row during the Colts game the first year at then PSINet. We're in section 103 seats 12 and 13. I was a trumpet player in the Maryland Marching Band during my drunk college days. I loved it so much, I've never left the area. Police officer for 21 years. Four more years!!! If I could, I'd have the Ravens tatooed on my body. But hell, it wouldn't show! LOL! She was the one who said, why buy the 65in HD, when the 73 HD is available. Like the commercial about diamonds screamed in Rome, I love this woman. Anyway, we are Ravens fans through and through. I almost threw up when the fans boo'd Kyle when he was hurt. I refust not to stand on third downs! We have signs for every home game and were on the front page of the Post when we beat Denver in the 1st home playoff game in that magical season. On a side note, if the Ravens when it all this year, I'm freaking reach..... Vegas baby! I can't stand Preston or any one else who thrives on the negatives. I REMEMBER THE YEARS OF NO FOOTBALL!

Hello all, I'm Jeff from New Freedom, PA in Southern York County. I'm new here & happy to be here to talk to my fellow Purple brothers & sisters. I grew up in Middle River where my parents still are. I graduated from Kenwood High School in 85. I never got to attend a Colts game growing up, my Dad was too pissed at Irsay & refused to support him. I had Stallions season tickets in 94 & 95. I have had season tickets since the start in 96 & sit in section 504 where we are loud, proud, & purple. I usually take my Dad to the games or the wife or kids. My brother has tickets next to me. I am married to a Loch Raven girl & we have 3 little Ravens fans (12,9, & 2) (a daughter & 2 sons) who wear their jersey's every Purple Friday during the season, & of course every Sunday.

Long time lurker... on the last 2 boards...decided to finally join. Really appreciated the forums while I was in Germany and Iraq (Best info on the web). Born and raised in Baltimore County (hence the handle) moved around the US for the Army. Now back in the Land of Pleasant Living for good (I hope). Everyone in the family are huge Ravens fans. On the list for Season Tickets.

Hey guys,
I am new to the forum. 34 years old and a graduate of a local private school and college. I currently live downtown. I have been a Ravens fan since thier inception. PSL and season ticket holder since they came. I sit in the upper deck and would not have it any other way. I have sat in plenty of club and lower level seats (including my buddies skybox) but I still have the most fun sitting up there (my seats).
I try to hit at least two away games a year. This year it is Tampa and New Orleans.
Looking forward to seeing some people down in the Big Easy!:jester:

Wow - I have been away from the board for a long time - didn't know you guys had moved from scout until just the other day. I had alot of problems just being able to read threads on that board, so I'm excited about the new association with 24X7. It's good to see so many familiar names. I don't get a chance to post often, but I check in from time to time to catch up on the latest happenings. The skinny on me is I am 36, female, and live in Abingdon and am an original member of Nest #2. I've been a season ticket holder since day 1, sit in 515, and tailgate on the lot run by Roost #50. Grew up in B-more, in the Overlea area, went to IND, Salisbury U, West Va U, and Loyola earning a couple of degrees along the way. I'm a CPA and I work downtown in the financial services industry. LBoogy feel free to shoot me your resume if you are looking for an internship, or a job when you graduate! ;)

Hey Folks,

Been hanging and posting and maybe pissing people off for a while here and just noticed this here introductory thread.

So.....

I'm over 50 now (man where's the time go?) and a huge former Colt fan. I remember my dad taking me to Memorial Stadium to see Johnny U. beat the Green Bay Packers with a minute and a half on the clock.

I was a huge fan of the 70's Colts too-the Bert Jones era- and even worked as a "liner upper" for lack of a better term. My job, when I did it, was to line up the Colts or the opposing team prior to the announcement when they ran on the field. My job? Get em in order and pat them when it's time for them to run out. I also had to check with the head coaches for any last minute line up changes. Best thing about was seeing the game from the sidelines-being able to walk up and down the field as the chains moved.

We always worried that someone would discover how really useless we were and get rid of us so we carried clipboards around. Whenever someone started eyeballing us we'd start studying our clipboards, then look out at the players, repeat as needed... LOL!

I was sooo glad that Baltimore got a football team back. I gotta say, I kinda hate the NFL for how we got treated during the dark years. I better not head down that road right now.....

So now I work as the manager for a busy public library branch. That's right, I'm a librarian (or lie-berrian hon, as they say in Baltimore) and proud of it.

I'm married with 2 kids but am in the process of getting a divorce. Not fun, not fun.

I noticed that there are other musicians on the board and that's cool. I play with a band called 3rd Shift out of Anne Arundel county. We play places like Le Fountain Bleu, dock bars, private parties and the like. I'm a guitar player and do a little singing.

Anyway, it's nice to read the posts here and "meet" ya'll.

Best!
Dave

I am almost 45 years old, became a Ravens fan as soon as they won a Super Bowl. I apologize for being a bandwagon jumper but I could not see rooting for the Redskins anymore. but since I have stayed on the Ravens bandwagon through the good and bad times I believe that makes me a true fan!

I lost all respect for the Redskins anyway after they went out and got Albert Haynsworth, so I would have hated the team anyway after that. Haynsworth is the dirtiest player in the NFL, (after Whines Ward of coarse) and should have been banned for life for what he did as Titan.
