Some of you know that I help coach softball for Harford County Special Olympics. Many of these athletes are die-hard Ravens fans and would love to attend a Ravens game.

For those who are season ticket holders - if any of you do not care to attend either preseason game and you cannot sell your tickets, please let me know. You can contact me at fdgrau @ yahoo.com.

Thanks,
Fred

Fred,

I sent you an email a while back but I've not gotten a response...you can have my 2 Falcons tickets for 8/28. I can mail them to you, give them to you at Greg's on Saturday or bring them to the Vikes game.

This is a message from an athlete's dad (who is also a Special Olympics coach):

Thank you Raven's fans for donating your home opener game tickets against the Vikings to Special Olympics. We had 21 athletes and 9 chaperone/parents at the game. Most of our athletes would never have the ability to enjoy a day like this without your generous gift. Not only were they able to afford the day but we were able to attend the game as a group. And what a group we were.

" We left the Park and Ride after 4:00 pm. - 6 minivans strong
" Had a tailgate party. The athletes even had a football game going. We were probably the loudest group around and there was not a beer in site.
" Attended the game.
" Stayed for the Michael Phelps victory
" Rounded everyone up and back to the Tailgate area.
" We arrived back at the Park and Ride at 1:30 AM.

A 9 HOUR DAY!!!!!!!!! Everyone had a blast. Most of the athletes were really exited about being up 3 to 5 hours past their normal bedtime. As a Special Olympics coach for 11 years, and having a son with Down Syndrome, I always enjoy being with our athletes. Especially on a day like we had Sunday. This would never never never never been possible without your gift. 8 of our athletes that attended are from single mom homes and a group home. Couple that with the cost and logistics of getting to a game. Without your generosity our athletes would never be able to attend a game, as a group, with all their friends. I wish there was someway for you to have physically been with us all day to see the good time (rowdy and loud) we had.

I know you don't expect any payback. But I have a strong back, weak mind, and a pick up truck. So if you ever need someone to help you move a piano - I am your man. Again, thanks from all of us.
