I hope BB stays around for awhile, even though I don't always agree with his 'Camp Creampuff' approach to training. Nevertheless, he is now Baltimore's all-time winningest football coach:
"The win (against KC) was head coach Brian Billick's 72nd regular season victory, making him the winningest coach in Baltimore football. He passed Don Shula on the list."
Congratulations!

Many fans wanted Billick to go but he is the best coach for this team. He manages his players very well and gets the most out of them.

Good organizations don't make quick decisions when it comes to coaches.
Look at Cowher and the Steelers for example.
Teams are gonna have crappy years. There's something to be said for stability.

I agree that all teams have "crappy" years, however, I think Billick was just a tick away from being gone. What concerned me most with this team last year was that it gave every appearance of being out of control and Billick gave every appearance of having totally lost the team. I'm not that sure that had we had a sustained losing stretch this season we wouldn't have seen the same issues. Players withdrawing from the team, bitching to every reporter they could find, etc. Unless all it took to right the ship was for control to be turned over to the players which seems to be working so far.

He was a tick away but thankfully Bisciotti realized that there are not 10 good coaches in the whole league. The odds of finding someone as good as Billick are slim and none. Tenn is realizing the same thing with Fisher. We're spoiled. Billick has one bad year out of 7 and people want to run him out of town. Nonsense. As for the Offensive Genius label, Billick is here to win games not set offensive records. In some fans eyes everything good is Ozzie and every lousy player is Billick's fault:insane: Either way coaches get way to much credit or blame. Give them good players and they will win. Did Fisher and Billick become morons last year?

PurplePoe and F--- Angelos are right; The Management decided to keep Coach Billick with some warning, instead of replacing him, and I don't think anyone disagrees that it was the right option. and AZRaven is also right; last year he did a poor job and lost the team, or came close to it. I hear whispers that some of the departed players were problems. generally it's hard for a coach to dump veterans (and many a coach has seen his team and career go downhill for it); who didn't come back from last year? Alan Ricard? Deion? Chester Taylor? this is the sort of locker room stuff that normally does NOT get out into public.
I observed in another forum; I get the impression that part of the reason BB was kept on, was lack of good alternatives, as most of the 'hot' candidates (Saban, Weiss, Crennel, even Dick Nolan) were taken. I'm real happy The Management didn't try some recycled coach for a quick fix (Mora, Glanville--good coaches, but not a good fit).
one really good thing about this team is how many younger players are producing. This team won't be the same without Ray Lewis, Jon Ogden, Matt Stover, etc, but I don't see another collapse real soon.

If BB left the Ravens he would be the hottest commodity in football. Thank goodness for the ownership and for the savior #9.

Getting rid of Billick would be blasphemy...
He's gonna go down as the greatest football coach in Baltimore history, mark my words...
