I know this doesn't really matter but does anybody know if the alternate jersey rule carries into the playoffs? I would LOVE to see the Ravens have a playoff game at The Vault in the dark, wearing all black. Just wondering if anyone has some info on this.

Good question, during the regular season they are allowed 2 games in the alternate jersey, & those games are approved before the season starts. I am interested how the postseason works as well. It would be great to see the Back in Black unis!!!!

Has there been any word on using them vs CLE or BUF? I havent heard anything but we did wear them vs CLE once or twice before.

The Ravens like to wear the all black for night games, when the sun is not beating on them. Since they didn't have any night home games this year, I guess they aren't pulling them out for use.

Y'all may have missed the story at the beginning of the year. The Ravens are prohibited from using the alternate jerseys during the 2006 season (at least the regular season) because they missed a notification deadline to NFL HQ.
Personally: I hope that we don't see the all-blacks until they are redesigned. They are too plain. Need some stripes. Also: too many other teams use the all-blacks. I'd like to see all purple some time.

I didn't know they were banned, but I knew teams had to get approval before the season starts.
Maybe black jersey w/ purple pants or white pants? I like the black PJ look myself. As long as they win, that's all that matters. I have been wearing my Ray Lewis black jersey this year.

I had a vision while I was watching the Saints/Cowboys game.
YES, brothahs and sistahs, a VISION, a DREAM, a foretelling of THINGS TO COME!!!
What was it, you may ask?
It was simply this: a Ravens/Saints SUPAH BOWL!!!
Just imagine:
The Saints...darlings of the media!!! Heroes to a nation!!!
Bettis in Detroit? Forget about it!!! This has all the makings of a media DREAM!!!
Make it another telethon for Katrina victims!!! Two weeks of lead-up to the big day!!! Endless stories about victims, devastation, ruined lives, lost property, and destruction!!! Stories about what you can DO, not the least of which is root for the hallowed, beleaguered Saints, who carry the dreams of an entire city on their virtuous backs!!!
...and the Ravens?
The bad guys standing in the way of the hopes of a nation, depriving an entire country of its dream, denying them the opportunity to celebrate in the streets about those poor, poor wretches finally having something to feel GOOD about!!!
The Ravens should wear black if that happens.
They should come in SCREAMING, they should show NO MERCY!!!
They should kick the Saints' ASS and become the most hated and feared team in all of football!!!
Ah, to dream...
Seriously, now...I doubt the Saints make it to the big game.
It would still be fun if they did.

haha. I was thinking about a Ravens / Saints SB during that game also. No doubt the coverage would be 90% Saints and 10% Ravens. You hit it right on the money.

I remember braven98 on the YBR board saying that advance notice does not have to be given to the League for wearing Alternate jerseys in the playoffs.

This whole thing about the black jersey just pisses me off. Why should the NFL take such a hard stand on this but don't care if players are gettting locked up on a regular basis.

Who is the "home team" for this year's SB? If it's AFC, we can wear any jersey we want.

NFC is "home" for the Super Bowl. Last year Pittsburgh elected to wear the road whites as the "home" team.

O yea, good point, at the game the NFL gave out terrible towels to support them & had the officials give the game to the Stealers since they couldn't win it on their own.
