If I'm not mistaken, I believe Devard can return punts and kickoffs..Somebody tell me if I'm wrong, cause Cory Ross is pathetic and he gets hardly any yards with his runbacks:grbac: ..Ross may be a future running back, but he does nothing for our return game and I am nervous when he's back there waiting for the ball :nerd: !!! Devard Darling has quickness and speed...We need to try someone else:eyes:

Good point. Ross has shown zippity doo da up to now, and Darling has to be good for something besides drawing a paycheck and knowing where to get good ganja.

Can he return punts? I didn't know that.

I agree about Ross needing to be replaced...he has done nothing. Can't believe people wanted this guy over Sams. :grbac:

I'm not that sure if he can, but I thought he did and anything is better than Cory Ross right now....The special teams need to get more yardage on the returns!

Special Teams returns has been a big part of our game until BJ went down. Ross has not shown anything like he did in pre season. I'm just thankful he catches the punt & doesn't fumble. We definitely need someone back there who installs confidence in the team now that we are going to the 2nd season. Field position will play an important part of the next 5 weeks. We need a returner we can count on.

Can PJ Daniels be a return man? I thought he had some tryouts there in pre-season...

I thought DVD was more of a test to see how he could get on the field...and he failed that test if I recall correctly.

I thought Devard was on the Practice Squad. If so we should bring him in as a return specialist because you have all said what we are thinking...Ross is scaring us with his zero yardage returns.

He's not on the practice squad, he just isn't playing. And I don't recall him ever returning punts (although he couldn't be worse than Ross).

Ross no longer looks like he's about to drop the ball every time he catches it or gets hit. Who knows, he may improve.

Heaven knows I don't want to see Clayton taking the hits those special team gunners can dish out to a vulnerable pr specialist. We need him upright when the offense is on the field.

My 2c.
