View Full Version : Clayton had the flu?

I read something recently about Clayton having the flu during the Bills game, but I hadn't seen anything about that before the game. Anyone know what's going on? Before I heard anything about him having the flu, I chalked up his decreased presence to Mason's comment about wanting the ball more. But afterwards, I thought maybe him having the flu might be the real explanation.
By the same token, I wondered if the flu story was possibly a cover story to try to gloss over the Mason thing. Without knowing any of the details, I'm inclined to believe that Clayton did have the flu, and that's why he wasn't used that much during the game.

He was sick. That is also why Bannister got reps at receiver in the second half.

Ok, thanks Deuce. (I totally missed Bannister being in there. Moore must REALLY be in the dog house, then.)

Trying to gloss over the Mason thing by making up that Clayton had the flu?
Too funny.

PP1. Oh, I guess shit like that never happens, huh, PP?
2. I SAID I was NOT inclined to believe that.
So why don't you just give it a rest? You're starting to sound off on Mason like Tex Ritter sounds off on Boller. The post was resolved, and didn't need you jumping in to stir up the pot for no reason whatsoever.

Don't go asking for other peoples opinions if your not going to happy with what you read

Asking for an opinion is one thing. I have no problem with anyone expressing ANY opinion. What I have a problem with is someone expressing something for the sole purpose of a slam, after a topic has already been resolved.

Damn your making friends here and YBR on the caption thread pretty quickly aren't you?

I wasn't aware that this was a popularity contest. I thought it was a board to discuss Ravens football. But thanks for your input.
And as far as YBR is concerned...isn't part of the reason this board here in the first place because people felt YBR sucked?

It's not a slam.
You brought up the whole idea that it was a gloss over, not me.
Now you find out that Clayton had the flu.
YOU brought up Mason in the initial post.
YOU wondered if it was a freakin cover so that Mason would get more touches and that's a joke.
Stop crying about it.

PPStop crying about it? You stop LYING about it. I did NOT say or imply that the flu thing WAS an attempt to gloss over it. I said it was one of the things that I'd WONDERED about, because it's not out of the realm of possiblity for a team to float something like that -- especially since NO ONE mentioned that Clayton had the flu -- either before the game, OR after. You certainly didn't, did you? So when I heard it, it sounded a little suspicious to me. But I kept an open mind, and came here to check out the "inside" track. Then, after I got it, it was ISSUE CLOSED. Til you came in and stirred the pot. So if you want it dropped, STFU already. It was over before you opened your mouth in the first place. Both here AND at YBR. You're the one who seems to want to make a point. All I wanted to do was clarify the issue, not muddy it.

OK, you wrote this, correct?
YOU wondered if the flu was a cover story and I think that is laughable.
That is what I said.
Grow a set.
Here's a tip. If you don't want someone to comment on something you think on a messageboard, then don't write it on a messageboard.

PPLast post, and then this is done. (In truth, it was done before you even posted.) If you get off by pointing out that what I'd initially considered -- then DISCOUNTED -- to be "laughable" -- that's your perogative. But maybe YOU ought to consider getting a life if that's the best you can come up with as far as a post goes.

Skay, you are the *last* person on this forum to deserve to complain about other people's posts having too much contempt/sarcasm for your taste.

Skay, you are the *last* person on this forum to deserve to complain about other people's posts having too much contempt/sarcasm for your taste.First of all, I wasn't referring to sarcasm or contempt, I was referring to his dishonesty.
Second, WTF are you even talking about? Have I been disruptive here? Or have I stated my opinions in an appropriate manner?

YOU brought up the idea that it was a gloss over.
What part don't you understand?
How exactly is it that I am lying when Im posting and responding to what you wrote?
Then you whine and say I stirred something up when YOU said you wondered if the Ravens floated that Clayton had the flu? Sorry if you don't like the idea of someone responding to the idea that this team went to enough trouble to lie about an illness so that another player could get a few more balls because he said he wanted to be a bigger part of the offense. You don't expect anyone to respond to something like that?
If you want everyone to agree with you then go find a group of Raven fans that think exactly how you do. That or write a blog or something. Until then, stop whining and saying you're getting slammed because someone disagrees with your takes when you post it on a messageboard.

What I meant was, Skay, that I could have responded this way:
That's got to be about the stupidest thing I've ever read in my entire life when it comes to analyzing any aspect of a football game.
But, though true, that would have been contemptuous, so I wouldn't do that.

Well, here's a thread completely wasted.

Have to agree with Greg here,a wasted thread that could have gone somewhere if handled appropriately.
I opened it back up just to add a little insight because of what I saw on the sideline.
I'm gonna close it back up though due to obvious reasons.
I sit directly behind the bench so I see just about everything that goes on down there.
Now I don't know whether or not Clayton had the flu or was sick, but I did watch Tessendorf(sp?) give Clayton an IV on the bench.
An IV generally gives me the feeling that something internally was wrong with Clayton to warrant receiving that type of care.
Facts that seem relevant to the subject that this thread was originally meant to be discussed I suppose.
