Added a digit to his jersey and came out during introductions wearing No. 19?
Just for one game?

My first thought was "blasphemy". But with the opposing team being the Indianapolis "football team" it would be cool. Nah, there is just no way anyone should ever where that # again. Good question though.

What about if McNair wore hightops?

I really liked Steve McNair even before he came to Baltimore, but to have him wear the number of the incomparable Johnny Unitas may be a little too much.
I'd take a survey of the old Colts still in town and the Unitas family first. If they agreed to it, then I'd be all for it...That shit would send chills up my spine, too!

Would the NFL allow it? I know Bruce Laird patrols the field before the game looking for uniform violations.

Definate yes to the hightops.

Not for nothing and certainly not meaning anything disrespectful to anyone, however, hows about we allow the RAVENS to just be the RAVENS.
I want to win this game as much as the next fool, but I want this win 1st because it's a playoff game we need to win to advance and only secondly because it's against the Colts.
I'm starting to feel a little bad for the Ravens. It's like this game has taken on a life of it's own and it doesn't have much to do with the team
Go Ravens!!!

I agree with Ladyraven127. This game is getting bigger than life, and while I am a Colts hater, I want to win because I want a Championship first and foremost. My feelings of what happened 23 years ago are secondary.
I want our players focused to win, so they can advance, and play San Diego or New England. I don't want distractions like wearing Johnny Unitas's number, introducing old colts, wearing high tops, etc interfering with the task at hand. I also don't want to incite the Indy players on game day and give them any more reason to be jacked up.
We are creating our own history now, so let's enjoy the moment, in purple and black, okay?

What about if McNair wore hightops?
Then he'd get fined.
I agree with the ladies, this Colts thing is a little out of hand. It's okay for the fans, but let's leave the players out of it. This game is a step toward the Super Bowl, not the Super Bowl itself.

I've got to agree with the ladies too. Let the Ravens be the Ravens and the Baltimore Colts rest (although if 19 isn't an unofficial retired Raven number it probably should be).
Johnny U and the spirit of the Colts will look down upon us as we take on the Indy Thieves no matter what anyone wears.

I think its fine that as fans we use the emotion to get our decibel level up, but this Weekend should be all about the Ravens, BALTIMORE'S TEAM.
I'll be excited and yelling at the Colts players, but it is all Ravens from here on out.

Hurting.....you nailed it!
I agree that this is about the Ravens. They are the ones investing hundreds of hours into preparing mentally and physically. I am just looking for the extra edge for the fans to push the decibel level to previously believed unheard of heights. Every extra ounce of motivation and reason to go all out helps.
There's a rumor floating about regarding Cal Ripken doing the coin toss. Trying to get confirmation on that or put it to bed as a false rumor...
Let's go  Let's get nuts!

Nothing against Johnny U, but McNair should keep wearing number 9 and have his own legacy and identity to leave the city of Baltimore.
19 should remain Johnny U.
9 should be Steve McNair.
You wouldn't want some other player to wear 52 for one game, because that's Ray's legacy. McNair is great enough to have his own.
Bad idea.

Finally, some sanity!
Let's cheer, yell, scream our bloody heads off for OUR TEAM!!
What is the most important thing come Saturday?
A DIVISIONAL PLAYOFF WIN FOR OUR BALTIMORE RAVENS!!!
