This has been a sore spot for us since Sams went down. I was hoping for maybe a month that the Ravens would sign a return man with some game from a CFL squad or off the street, atleast someone average if he's out there.
Looks like it's not to be but for the last few weeks I've been thinking since it's win or go home maybe Reed or Clayton will get some shots to give us better field position. 2.8 yards per return is hard to take given how Sams was playing. Field position is more important in the playoffs because you're squaring up against the leagues best teams.
Thoughts anyone?
Go Ravens.

Corey Ross has looked a little more comfortable. It takes some time to adjust when you first come in like he did. There is no doubt that he is not going to approach what Sams was doing but at this point I will take my chances that he will not turn the ball over. If he doesn't, then I would consider that a win.

The problem is he has Fear, that position needs you to be fearless of taking hits. the return game during the bills game was pitiful, how he did not call a fair catch but instead put us at the 2 yard line by letting the ball go by him will kill this team in the playoffs.

has anyone heard any word from the team on whether Clayton has been practicing punt returns?
can't believe that we don't have this as a contingency plan -- this is win or go home and corey has shown ABSOLUTELY NOTHING on punt returns
we need to be clicking on ALL cylinders to win the next 2 games

I think I read somewhere that Clayton and Ed Reed were returning punts in practice as a backup plan, but Ross will start Saturday.
I think you have to use Clayton. Other teams use their offensive stars on punt returns and have success. (Eagles with Westbrook, Panthers with Smith)
