Per Sandusky on WBAL.
So, who gets the DC gig? Rumors are Rex wants to take some staff with him. Should be an interesting couple of weeks.

Yeah...we knew this was coming. I wish him the best of luck. He's been dicked around before and now he gets his shot. I just hope this doesn't kill the defense too much.

Pettine is going to be the DC in New York...Hue Jackson may go as OC, and Brooks might go to be something on D there if we let him...
Mattison is not a young guy...37 years or coaching! He'd be the most likely DC candidate.
I find it weird and annoying that we're getting raided (losing QB, DC, LB coaches and one FO guy), whereas Pitt and Arizona will likely lose NO ONE. The only team that comes close to our losses would be the Pats, losing Pioli and Josh McDaniels, who will probably grab a coach or two from them. So not only do we not get a SB, we also lose a significant portion of staff. GAH

I wish Rex all the best in NY, he deserves this chance to be a HC. So are we thinking it will go to http://www.baltimoreravens.com/People/Coaches/Greg_Mattison.aspx ? Would they look outside our organisation?!

Ryan deserve the job with out a doubt, he will be taking more that just our coaches with him, bet a few players go with him ( Scott, Pryce).

i think we'd only look outside if someone like Nolan was available. We need to take care to make sure we bring in a coach who meshes well with our players...best way to do that is to hire from within.
if Pettine isn't Rex's DC, he'll be the guy here.

This team has been through it's share of DC's and we've always been good, I'm not worried. I wish Rex the best, until he plays us. Personally I don't think he'll be successful, just my opinion.

Think Ray will re-sign hewre if they bring back Nolan? He trashed Nolan when he left and sulked the last few years he had to play for Nolan. Nolan was the one who said it's Ray's world...he probably doesn't want to come back. Nolan is in Denver anyway. I am sure Ray will let Steve know who he wants to be coordinator.

yeah, it sucks to lose Ryan.. i wish him the best, but i have a feeling he will fail, as our other assistants have. although, i have a feeling Rex will try to loot us for anything he can get.
i don't think we have to worry about Hue Jackson (now our most valuable assistant). The Jets want to keep Brian Schottenheimer as their OC. which is good for us.
Clarence Brooks is my choice for DC. we need to retain him because regardless i still think Mattison is too young. what i do know is we need a DC that likes to bring pressure. thats why i wouldn't even want a guy like Nolan. we have to promote from within. why can't we have a guy like Dick LeBeau who is like 70 and is happy being a d coordinator?
all i know is its shaping up to be a shitty offseason. Rex can take Bart Scott and even Landry if he has to, but i looks like there is no way Trevor Pryce will be back with us. thats a HUGE loss. then, we might not have the money for Suggs, so we would lose our best pass rusher, and our 2nd best run stuffer.
so i looks like i will be doing a lot of this over the next few months....

Nolan signed on as DC in Denver.
Congrats to Rex though, he certainly deserves it. And thanks to him for years of awesome service to this organization.
