Reports from Casey Willet on WNST that the money Brown thought was in St Louis may not thave been there, and he might have reached back out to Baltimore to see if something can be worked out.
Stay tuned.

I posted in the other Brown thread a link to PFT that said the Rams were offering him the money, but he doesn't want to play there and no one else is going to meet their offer.

For the record, I still don't think JB comes back here. We cut off talks with him early last night, I really think that ship sailed. He is a great young player, I gotta think he'll find someone to pony up for him at bigtime Guard money.

Well, you would think the Skins are now out of hit with him.
Could be those 8-9 million a year offers were more of a dream than reality.
All these different scenarios are playing out in some crazy ways.

A deal between the Rams and C/G Jason Brown is reportedly "imminent."
No other details are available. We had Brown ranked as the number two overall free agent available, so clearly we think it's a great potential move. Especially for Steven Jackson.
Source: St Louis Post-Dispatch
uh oh, the king of the ravens boards, 52, may have been off on this one. hope this report isn't true. what i don't have to hope for is 52 responding to this within three minutes (max)

Maybe not. Teams have been burned recently over paying interior O line players as free agents. A lot of teams may want him, but when the money is on the table, but the Rams are on the other side of it, you may want to rethink the Ravens offer.
btw, cutting off talks is not the same as pulling the offer. It is one of another brilliant poker plays by Oz and his team, letting the right info slip and ignoring the rumours.

True.
Breaking off talks means negotiations are over. The offer is final, there is nothing more to be added.
Pulling the offer off the table is something else, and I haven't heard that.
So the roller coaster ride of the fans continues.
btw- Ray needs to be careful. If Brown comes back, Ray's offer may have to be pulled for cap space for Brown, then its "Sorry Ray, we needed some of that to retain Jason, but here is what we can still do..." So if that monster deal isn't there for him, the one he had to fall back on might not be the same either.

We were going to give Brown $6 million right?
Brown wanted $8 million right?
I say call his agent, tell him we'll give him $7 and/or an extra year (like the Jets did with Bart), and just come on home and be a Raven.

Brown has burned his bridge here. He wants to go to St. Louis? Let him. That team is terrible...he'll regret it.

Why would he say he doesn't want to play there, at least publically?
