Can't get the website to come up but it may be my work connection. I've wanted an arena team for a while. Cool.

I going to check this out. Only wish they had more then two home games. I understand the arena was booked and they will have more next year.

Interesting...I'd really like to see a minor league hockey team back in Baltimore...but most of all we NEED A NEW ARENA!!!

That arena is an embarrassment to the city. :embarassed: It was obsolete the day it opened.

You would think as much money Ed Hale has he'd get thew city to build a new one. Think of the possibilities!

Where do we tailgate for the games?

Without a new arena I fear that this team will fold like just about everything else they try in that heap of crap. I don't know what it is going to take, but our Arena is a joke.

So 3/31 against Carolina. Who is in? Not sure where we could tailgate - maybe in the parking lot where they usually park the circus trucks? Or we could just meet at a bar.
What are the rules again?

i'm down. it would be pretty cool to get a bunch of folks from the board together for one of these games. that and i've never seen arena ball live before.

Tailgating isn't realistic, but there are a few bars along Pratt Street that should be in play.
I haven't been to the old Civic Center in nearly twenty years. I used to attend Bullets & Blast games there. But night time events in the City in the Winter are a turn-off.
I really hope this venture succeeds.
I am down
and
i'm down.

i've been in the arena to see the blast last year and it was horrible. I think we should get a new arena to accomdate a new minor league hockey team and college basketball events (i.e. NCAA Tourney)

Is this the "AFL" or some other random arena league? Just wondering.

Yes this building should be torn down.

i had heard of talks of tearing it down, but they were going to replace it with on about the same size. Which by the way is to small for NHL and NBA standards. So it would be pointless imo if thats what they end up doing

The city needs to build a new arena to gain back a lot of the money that is going to Philly and DC for sports and concert venues. It's a no brainer yet they think the junk that is the First Mariner Arena will still bring in people.
As for the Blackbirds, I did receive an email from them today and was told that I'll hear something in two weeks regarding tickets.

The 60's? Hardly ... although I may have been inebriated once or twice!

we won't get any sort of minor or major league hockey/basketball squad until we introduce the arena to the wrecking ball and get a new one. that said, as a big hockey fan, the thought of sidney crosby and evgeni malkin in b-mo would be most excellent.

I have been a San Jose Sabercat fan for many years now,its a shame you haven't got an AFL2 or AFL team in Baltimore. And as a big NHL fan to,
likewise with an Balt' NHL team.
