Jesus Christ, put them on the plane back to Missouri and let's call it a day. Lot of work needed if we're going to beat San Diego.

I love ya 52, you know that. But you are really going extra to make excuses here.
That said, that pass to Clayton was GORGEOUS!!!
INT is one thing, but a return like that is another.
Go look up the average for an INT return and how many 75 yders there were last year.Could probably count them on one hand.(minus Reed of course LOL)
Then go look how many times we have let a guy come uncovered to block a punt and they score a TD on top.
Whatever its all good.

They could overturn this, and I think they might. His Elbow was down.

Checking out some other games...man, how bad is Delhomme? 4 INT's today. So in his last 2 games, he has thrown 9 picks. Unreal.
Edit...AND he was given a $20 million extension this offseason.

well, in any case it's a sack...
let's just hope D can refocus to keep stopping them.

And they reverse it. Maybe the right call - its close, I don't know if its conclusive.

Meanwhile, gotta love that Cincy scores a TD with less than a minute left to win the game, then somehow choked it away.

Brodie Croyle deserves some props...he played smart today, definitley deserves some credit before he heads back to being the backup.
The Chiefs deserve some credit...granted they sucked most of the game, but they had some key plays and brought it hard enough to throw us off.

Clearly the Ravens are going to punch it in so that all of us who picked them to cover the spread will have been right all along.

3rd and goal, Ngata in, McGahee is..short. On replay I think he got in! They should review it! And they will.

I can't see how hes NOT in. But I'm sure they won't call him in. And they don't. Will they go for a TD or kick it??
Looks like they'll go for it!

Whew. I will take the win but it should not have been this close. We need to lock some of these mental lapses down before next week.
Lol did they score just to cover the spread?? That was unnecessary. :D

500 yards of offense...I think that is a record.
While I don't agree at all with the playcalling, this type of output...38 points with practically no short fields and 500 yards is impressive.

Ray Rice with the first 100 yard game of the year too. Very nice.

Game over, we win.
Things clear:
1) We have an offense. Flacco once he settles, is DEFINITELY capable of being a big time QB. Rice is a sweet runner, and the 3 backs we have can keep it going all game long.
2) The gameplan will need to be adjusted next week. On both sides. More runs will need to be mixed in, and we will need to cover better and blitz better, or Rivers will pick us apart.
3) No matter how shitty the team is - we are 1-0, and 1-0 in the AFC. And that's all that really matters. We know they won't overlook the Chargers.

I just don't like Joe being asked to throw that much. He had a number of errant throws (at people's feet, above their heads) that were very concerning, and whilst he put up good numbers in the end, it's still the Chiefs...
Id like to have seen Rice get that last TD at the end...he earned IMO!

Well, and I'm not as concerned about that as where was Demetrius Williams today? Mason was bottled up which teams have learned how to do. That throw to Mason near the endzone that he dropped because of coverage should have been thrown to Williams who could have jumped up.
Its wierd they got 300 yards passing because watching from the stands I don't remember how they got it all.
Sephy is correct though, a win is a win and we are 1-0. I'd rather be that and looking to SD rather than hoping to be 1-1 after next week.

Yeah Joe should be perfect and throw every ball Right where it should be every single throw.
He is not allowed to throw bad passes...ever.
How about the times where he hit the receiver in the hands and they dropped it? Add that up too now.

Jesus christ, no need to be such an ass about an opinion. It doesn't make sense to me to put Joe in that position, especially when the run was working so well and at the time he was misfiring.
Sheesh.

96 QB rating.
Joe Flacco is not just a good QB who you want to "not get you in trouble" he is on his way to being a great QB who can win you games with his arm....like he did today.
This is a new era, the Joe Flacco era and you can forget about the offense you have see the past 10 years. Open it up and let a great QB sling it.
He is not going to get any better handing the ball off. He has a weapon in his right arm and we need to use it.
Now when we are up by 2 TD's late it might be a little different, but we were not today. We needed every one of those pasing yards and Joe delivered.

Let's also not forget this was the KC Chiefs. If you think for a minute that he will do this against the Steelers or even the Chargers, you are going to be very disappointed next week.

As always Sting I hope your wrong. Joe is still a young QB and wil make mistakes and have bad games here and there but right now he looks to be in pro bowl form. IMO he will have another impressive game against a better D next.

Well, let me qualify this too. As I said earlier I'm not so much concerned about Joe mechanically and such. We are not slinging the ball around against those teams. And its not all on Joe. We aren't the New Orleans Saints and we don't have Marquis Colston to throw to. There is no good reason to throw the ball 43 times with this offense. When you do that, he is going to make more bad throws than you want.
The Chiefs defense sucked. They couldn't blitz for anything. Our OL looked like their OL from 8 years ago.
And yet somehow they hung around until their last drive when it should never have been that close.
I think Dade we can agree the Ravens cannot go into next week with this same gameplan and succeed.
And I'll take the win. We are 1-0, and the Bengals and Browns lost!
Yeah 43 passes is unacceptable. The running game got off to a slow start but really gash them later on. Cam got carried away with the pass, that will hurt against better Ds. Still Flacco looked damn good slinging it around.
Running the ball is key to beating better defenses, cant get away from it.

Speaking of Cincy, do you see how that game ended. Crazy.

Well, this game was certainly more of a nailbiter than I was expecting, but at least we pulled it out. I had no problem with opening up the passing game, espcially since Flacco looked so sharp at the beginning of the game. The whole offense seem to lose their rhythm for a while, but they came through in the fourth quarter when they needed to.
This game should not have been close, but when you get a punt blocked in your end zone, get an INT run back to your five yard line, and give up a 50 yard pass play, that can happen.
The big plays aside, the only thing that worried me were our special teams.

Well, but there were points in the game where he wasn't, and that was why you saw the run attack come back so strong. There were a couple other dropped picks on KC's side, and at one point he didn't look comfortable. And that was about the time KC went up 17-14 and we are going "what the hell is going on?". I'm glad he got his feet back under him though. He bounced back great!
Maybe its just us sitting up above the field and not seeing the TV angles, I don't know.
It would help if Demetrius got involved in the offense too.
