That is so bush league by CBS to put asshole Fouts as this games announcer. I am emailing CBS that is total BS. What a friggin homer

Yeah, seriously. I've noticed him drooling all over himself when talking about Sproles and talking about the firey passion from Rivers (who everyone knows is a major jerk). Yet the plays by our defense, Ray Rice and McGahee running wild, and Flacco playing well, Fouts is so monotone and "ho hum" about it. What was CBS thinking in putting Fouts as a color commentor for a Chargers game? That's almost as bad as if CBS hired Bradshaw or Cowher to broadcast a Steelers game.

Fouts just confirmed he's a homer.
On a TD pass from Flacco to Heap, ther's a flag.
"That's gonna be a holding call on Baltimore. Flacco had too much time to pass back there..." Instead, it's illegal use of the hands on the Chargers- TD stands.
And what does our buddy Fouts say? "Look... right there. That's holding on #74. He weighs in at about 320 lbs., [the other guy] at about 240; you can't do that."
What a tool. Just shut up when you're wrong. You only make yourself look more like a dipstick when you defend your point when you're wrong.

I noticed a few times when they stayed on the air between posessions that he would be beaming about the Chargers O, and then when the Ravens got the ball he wouldn't say a word for 3 or 4 minutes.
This is horrible by CBS.

I thought Fouts was VERY fair.
No complaints here.

Fair or not, this announcer pair was abysmal.
They got names wrong almost every play, called plays wrong..
Enberg has been like this for years, though.

Nah... He said SOME good things about the Ravens (Mostly Flacco.) But you could tell he was drooling over the Chargers all day...

That was my impression too. I thought he was intelligent & informative – a huge step up from most announcers. He said lots of nice stuff about Joe too.
My old roommate & best man said the same thing as most in this thread did, that Fouts was an unbearable homer. The baby was making a lot of noice during the game, maybe I missed the worst of Fouts' offenses.

I didn't even know who the color commentator was, but I certainly noticed the bias towards the Chargers. I think he tried to be fair sometimes, but most of the time, he just couldn't help himself. He was always trying to find a reason for a penalty on the Ravens, even when one was not there.

They were so biased it was sickening to listen to. Not only that, but throughout the entire game when they had little breaks they would show Chargers highlights. If you weren't paying close attention you wouldn't realize that the Ravens were in the lead for the overwhelming majority of the game. With the constant Charger highlights and talking about how great Rivers/Sproles are, I thought it was a 40-0 San Diego blowout.
And if anyone noticed, every single time there was a questionable call that went the Ravens way - the announcers would say "oh my that was a close one," or "that maybe should have went the other way." Any close call that went the Chargers way the silence was deafening.

my fave moment was when they showed Jamal Williams on the sideline (Charger's injured nose tackle) and observed 'it's going to be hard to stop the Ravens without Jamal Lewis'.
no kidding, as he was in Denver at the time...

Actually, Cowher gave us credit in the post game saying, "Don't look now, but the Ravens are all alone at the top of the AFC North." So I guess I can't get too upset with him. On the other hand, Bradshaw would have bashed us like Chris Collinsworth did a few years ago on NFL Network.

Did anyone else see the highlights from around the League on ESPN? No joke, every single highlight from our game were all Chargers plays. The 80+ TD pass to Sproles, Rivers TD pass in the back of the endzone, and more. The ONLY Ravens highlight? Ray Lewis' stop to end the game. Let's just ignore the 31 points we scored and focus on the more popular team that lost. Ridiculous.... Typical ESPN.

I thought Fouts tried to hide his bias, but for some guys, they can't help it. And I really like him as a color guy.
I think the fact that the Chargers were apparently honoring so many of their great players in their history may have made him a little more emotionally attached yesterday.

Very typical of the announcers not to know who our players are and for them to be just slobbering all over the Chargers knob. Well to f-ing bad that Ray-Ray had to shut them both the Fuck up!

You're just stretching, looking for a reason that we're hated. Not true at all in the first place. In the second place, the Chargers had a majority of the highlights, so what's the big deal about it?
I've got an article in development on this specific subject. The Ravens offense is not simply one of the best in the league right now...it's efficient unlike possibly anything we've ever seen before. When you think of great offenses, you think of offenses that get into the end zone a lot and have a lot of explosive plays. We don't have that. We simply drive the field and get into the end zone.
Make for a very boring highlight reel. But it also makes for a fantastic offense and football team.

I cringe as soon as I hear Dick Enberg's voice... What's he gonna get wrong today? I say to my self..... well..... when he called 55 Sizzle Suggs, and proclaimed that to be the nickname the Raven fans had given him, I just about wretched!!!!!! What a non-football announcing fool!
