Its over now.
They never did talk about Pittsburgh.

What was said:

Mason said that the players on offense gravitate to Steve. Kind of like when Shaq went to Miami.

Billick said McNair had a calming effect on the O. Even said Steve had a calming effect on him.

Ray says the 72 Dolphins better look out.

GET THE SEASON STARTED!!!!!

Yeah I saw this Saturday night I think,Ray sounded like a kid in a candy store, especially when Steve told him he was gonna get him 24 points a game.Ray said "24 points???.......in ONE game??? LOL!

Ray says the 72 Dolphins better look out.
Well, he didn't exactly say that with any seriousness. He was laughing at McNair saying that he'd give him 24 points a game. And with a sarcastic laugh, he said if that's the case, the 72 Dolphins might wanna watch out.

Either way, I liked the segment. I'm getting pumped for sunday.

And it seems like every other team in the AFC has had something go wrong this offseason or lately.Pats with Branch and Bruschi,KC losing TRich AND Roaf,SD lose their starting OLB Foley and have a rookie starting, steelers lose Jen and their running game is struggling big time, half the Bengals have been arrested,Browns losing Bentley and 2 other centers,it just keeps getting worse for everyone but us it seems!!!The only other contenders that I havent heard anything bad about are the Broncos and Dolphins, and who knows what to expect from them even though every "expert" is claiming they are going to dethrone the Pats and the hype around them is just ridiculous.

Let's not get all excited about the misfortune of other teams.

And don't be talking about how the Ravens haven't had anything go wrong for them.. Bad luck..... throw salt over your shoulder, spit in your hand, do anything but don't let the bad luck Gods hear us patting ourselves on the back..

All I know is that this team is better than the one that made the playoffs a couple of years ago. Whether that actually materializes into anything remains to be seen, but the talent is there.

LOL at Ray going "24 points....in one game!?!"

Well Ray and the team better show up in TB and win that game. It has been alot of talk...it's time to put up or shut up.

Exactly! This team always comes in talking trash. The problem is that we haven't backed it up in over 2 years. I think this is a good thing tho, if we go in there talking shit and get beat, we know that things are still status quo and we're in for another loooong seaosn. If we win, we're moving in the right direction. I really hope it's the latter.

This team may be better on paper, but the games are played on the field and like everyone else we haven't proven a thing yet. I wish they would just shut up let their play do their talking but it appears we will never learn.

The point is we havent had anyone get shot, arrested, retire or injured. That has to be a plus.

We know what your point is, just saying don't jinx us!
I must say it has been a pleasant off season with no Ravens players on police blotters let's hope it stays that way.

A win or a loss, does not cut the 06 season in stone in week1.If they win or lose I will be looking for how far ahead they are working together as an offensive and defensive and special team units. How many mistakes are made. How fast they come out of the gate, tempo, energy. How are they with just carrying out the fundamentals.

Its a great game to cut their teeth on.But its only a very small step in a long journey.Destination playoffs.[With luck and plenty of hardwork].

I am really hoping they can cut down on the penalties, they are such mementum killers and we get a lot of them.:(

I still think for some reason the refs have it out for us,why that is Ill never know.

I don't know most of the time they look like pretty legit calls to me. This team just has a "bully" attitude and they play aggressively, sometimes over aggressively, and it hurts us more times than it helps.

ravensfan86

The only problem I have with the calls is lets even them out for both sides. Like Billick said, the other team played the entire first half penalty free? There are calls to be made on both sides of the ball, lets keep it even.

I also hate having to beat the opposition and the refs. I think there is no doubt the refs look at us alot more closely then say the darlings of the NFL:
Colts or Redskins.

How diid I know someone was going to say "Brian Billick" EVERY head caoch yells at the refs on the sideline so dont give me that garbage.Have you ever seen NFL Films with Gruden berating the officials?

AZRAVEN

"Smash mouth" teams get more penalties than "finesse" teams, it goes with the territory, you want the tough guy rep you accept the consequences. Overall the officiating sucks and I've always thought it was because the rules are just to open to interpretation.
