I just realized and it's hard to believe, but we've only allowed 83 total rushing yards in 2 games!! !:happyanim This gave me chills when I saw the numbers  This WILL bode well for us in the winter and I really think we have something special here

Its a good stat but I'm wondering whats gonna happen when we face Adrian Peterson...

It's called Ray Lewis imposing his will and Taveres Gooden using his speed, I would also like to mention Ngata and Greg. I think we can say the middle is a lock so the LB's play the outside and D Laundry in run support. Brett Farve is good but his is no Philip Rivers

I think the same thing that happened when we faced LT in 2006. The opposing HC and OC will get called out for not throwing the ball a little more often.

He may be the best back and one of the best O lines the Ravens will face in a while, but I do not think they are much better than some of the squads we have seen like the Titans and Giants.

I'm not worried about any rusher in the league right now. Honestly, Sproles worried me more.

Occasional bad games will happen (see NYG last year). But everyone has them. I can't be worried about this, primarily because Fhavruah is horrible.

Minnesota should be more concerned about Flacco than we are about Peterson...

If we can run up the score early this Sunday the Browns will be forced to pass and we might just hold them to under 17 yards on the ground. Its happened before.

Seriously how awesome is it that we can say that our Defense is still holding teams below 100 yards rushing and we have finally have some offense. This is what we've always wanted. We love you Ray, Keep doing what you do.

Run D is what wins games in November and December when the ball is hard, the air is thin, muscles are tight and the ground is frozen it makes it harder for QB's to throw and WR's to run crisp routes.

Adrian Peterson might get100yds all purpose. I think ray takes the no 100yd rusher streak personally. AP will be held to 60 on 25 touches. Brett favre will have to win it, and I don't think he can.

With our newfound offensive firepower, we could easily set the Rushing yards against record...

Also I'm sure Ray will be picking our new Pro Bowl center's brain for any information about Vikings protection schemes, personnel, terminology, etc...

Something tells me we'll be okay.

AP will get around 80-90, we have had a few get close, but close isn't 100.

Speaking of Matt Birk.

How about this guy? He is a beast, he just mauls D Linemen on run plays and is great at the 2nd level. Did you see him on that pass to Rice, he was down field 15 yards blocking for Rice to gain another 10. Great Block too..

We almost run at will up the middle so far to gain 1st downs and short yardage TD's

The Giants are just a tough team to shut down the run for, their O-line is obscenely good blocking the run and it allows their bigs to build up a big head of steam not having to cut all over the place for their lane. Combine that with our penchant for poor tackling form from time to time and games like that are possible. They're not excusable, but you can see where they come around.

Also with regards to the run D, aside from the offence limiting the number of run attempts by making the oppo chase the game I think the return of Kelly Gregg is the biggest reason behind this. I've been shouted down for this before and I fully expect it again, but he is the best run defender on our defensive line and amongst any of the DTs around the league. No DT/NT, whatever you want to describe it plays the run better than Buddy Lee. I am so happy to have him back on this team and I'm looking forward to what it might open up for Ngata to develop his game and add more feathers to his bow.

I mean, IMO, he is CLEARLY no better then the 2nd best DT on this team, against the run, but I get your point.
Kelly makes more plays on RB's then any DT in teh league.
Ngata allows everyone else to make plays they otherwise couldn't, Gregg included.

Btu then again, I'm starting to think Ngata may be the best player in all of football at any position. Close if he's not it. top 10 for sure, and far and away the best player on the team.

that's part of the reason Ravens has given up so many passing yards; can't run so have to pass. it's going to continue, esp if our O can get an early lead. this has been our formula.
ride it on, Ravens, ride it on...

I agree... it goes both ways.

He has some super sick stats to back that up. Nagta may be more of a beast, but Buddly Lee is one of a kind. He is so aware it is unreal. He gets off blocks and makes takles at twice the rate of other "elite" run stoppers. He gets penetration and holds the point vs the double teams. Back in the day when it was just him in front of Ray, too many Gs were getting to the second level, but with another wide body next to him drawing the double teams, Buddly Lee is just about unblockable and it is almost impossible to run anywhere near him.
