Knowing how everyone here isn't a real big fan of Foerrster, even though our pass blocking has greatly improved, and understanding it will never happen; I am intrigued about the possibility of bringing Alex Gibbs in here. His methods are proven effective....dirty, but effective.

For those who don't know Gibbs pioneered the cut blocking scheme used by the Broncos and then by the Falcons. One downside to the amazing rushing totals his schemes put up is that pass blocking has been below average in both cities that employ the scheme.

Thoughts?

You need a specific type of lineman to run Gibbs' system.

Very light and quick.

Chester fits this mold.

But I don't see much else on the current roster that does.

Mulitalo is about the furthest thing from what would work in Gibbs' system.

That said, who knows if he'll even be a Raven next year.

Too bad that Billick is so in love with Foerster to even consider a change at OL coach. It is also sad because apparently (from a strong source, no B.S.) the OL are not that enamoured with Chris Foerster.

I agree with PP in that you can't bring in a coach and think he'll have success without giving him the pieces that will make Gibbs successful. I would add Jason Brown as one that could benefit from a coach like Gibbs.

To bad this amounts to nothing but wasted time as I think Foerester is the new version ofMatt Cavanaugh: a terrible assistant coach that will stick around longer than he should because he is one of Billick's boys.

Didn't the offensive line have a decent year and performed far above any of our expectations? How many times was McNair sacked? Sure, you can talk about run blocking, but there were times the holes were there and twinkle toes Jamal didn't hit them.
