Post all positive, sky isn't falling yet stuff in here.
I'm positive for the fact that we just pushed the best team in football when everybody thought we were gonna be torn apart.
I'm positive for the fact that after 10 games we are still in the playoff hunt.
And I'm positive for the fact that we don't play an elite team the rest of the year after playing four in the firts ten games (Cincy twice, Pats, Vikings and Colts)

I wouldn't be so quick to dismiss Pitt just yet.
Regardless, take each week as it comes. We lost a tough one. My ironclad balls aren't sweating it.

This is as positive as you can get without being delusional:
Sun 11/29 Pittsburgh Steelers Pittsburgh 8:20 pm
Hair Polamalu might be out, and our D is playing well. We can win this.
Mon 12/7 Green Bay Packers at Green Bay 8:30 pm
Green Bay is overrated. We can win this.
Sun 12/13 Detroit Lions Detroit 1:00 pm
We can win.
Sun 12/20 Chicago Bears Chicago 1:00 pm
We can win, its at home.
Sun 12/27 Pittsburgh Steelers at Pittsburgh 1:00 pm
We can't win.
Sun 1/3 Oakland Raiders at Oakland 4:15 p
We can win.
A very doable 5-1.

Strangely, our schedule can't get more difficult than it's been over the past two months - the league is running out of 1st place teams to throw at us.
Does that count as "positive?"

I think we had the hardest schedule in football, by far.
Ray Rice is god and I think Cam realizes now that he is (and probably McClain AND Ngata) better than McGahee in Goalline situations? How's that?

I'm positive that we have a good team, that is 1-2 players from being simply awesome.
I'm positive I would still take Homeless Man...errr....ahhhh..I mean Ed Reed over any other safety in the league!!!
I'm positive that with our offense, we can be competitive and very successful of the next several years.
I'm positive I still can't and never will be able to stomach the sight of Tom Brady or the Hooded One.
I'm positive I will continue to PROUDLY display the Purple & Black out here in Colts country regardless of the score!!!!!

Speaking of the WC race, Jax has some loseable games in the future. Denver look like they're tailing off. Houston also has some games they could drop (and they're frauds anyway...famous last words).
Pitt will obviously fight us neck tooth and nail.
I don't buy we make it to the post-season, and even if we do I don't see us making noise. But it's feasible.

On a serious note, something has to give with the coaching Harbs has no clock management, Cam has no idea to get a team in to the end zone. Not sure the solution but there is definitely a problem

It's all about making it to the dance.
Ask yourself this:
Are the Colts sitting on their plane journey praying they get us in the divisional round of the playoffs, I doubt it.
Are the Patriots relishing another game with us, probably not.
We've grown a lot this year. We've found out that Rice is a bonafide stud.
If they redo the '08 draft, Flacco and Rice go in the top 10 picks. We got them late first and early second.

Oh right, cause we scored 5 Td's and did get shut down from the 1 on 1st and goal... sorry my bad. Oh not to mention everytime they get to the 30 they go for the end zone and stop trying for first downs watch the game again and tell me I'm wrong. I know players have to execute but we don't have the personel to go for 30 yard TD passes. You're right that was ridiculous 2 Td's in the past three games WTF was I thinking....

No, it's ridiculous because you said Cam doesn't know how to get a team into the endzone. Really? How on earth did we score early in the season then? Or last season? Or what about the year Tomlinson scored thirty odd TDs, was that not Cam as the OC?
But this is the positivity thread. There's five or so more threads for coach bashing.

You proved my point. We scored all those points against the Chiefs, Chargers, Browns and Broncos. And you said TOMLINSON one of the best EVER scored 30. With Gates on he offense, the 3 WR's they have over 6'-3", not to mention Tomlinson had L.Neal blocking for him.
And I have been positive, I even made a joke about bringing in Weiss :)

You've confused the life out of me. You said Cam doesn't no how to get a team into the endzone. I proved that he does and that makes your point? Cam coaching a 30TD year from Tomlinson proves you right for saying he can't get teams into the endzone.... huh?

Ok, here we go. "How did we score all those points early in the season"EVERYONE SCORES against the teams I mentioned.
Tomlinson with L. Neal blocking for him scored thirty TD's it was a great offense, easy to do, not rocket science.
If he is so good, explain 2 TD's against the bengals in 2 games 1 against the Browns last week and none this week.

The Steelers lost. So there is that, and Big Jen got his dome rattled.
We can still take that 6 spot.
No one else that is in contention for it is in much better shape.
Those pesky Bengals lost to the Raiders, so we can always hope.
Until the 6th loss the Ravens do not need any help, they just need to make one or two more plays in those big games.

That offense still scores a sh*t load of points with out him, cause of the talent.
We don't have the talent they have. That is what I was say was easy to do, was to get that team in the endzone not Tomlinson 28 times (rushing) cause they are talented. We aren't the 2006 Chargers, I am not a coach I am not saying I know the solution. But clearly we can't get touchdowns lately, I am sure you can agree on that.
Answer this, the ravens have scored 2 TD's in their last three games does that look like a team that doesn't have a problem getting in the endzone?

It looks like a team struggling to get into the endzone over the last few games. You claimed that Cam clearly doesn't know how to get into the endzone. You didnt say he doesnt know how to get into the endzone the past five games. I pointed out that, infact, he has shown a history of getting his offences into the endzone.

And that I completely agree with. It's about growth though. What we didn't bank on this year was us evolving on offense. We've gone from the power running team to a QB with a powerful arm and a three down half back who may be in the top 5 in the league. I'm really excited already for what we can be next year if we can find a top WR. Can you imagine the numbers Rice could put up with a deep threat at WR to take away from the focus on him?

Here is my positive for yah, the D appears to be back. 3 turn overs on Indy and held them to 17.
Can't say that without additional comment on Cam, he is over rated. Joe stays upright the entire game and still can't muster a TD. I'm trying to stay positive but I'm also tired of hearing that we were one play away from all the games we lost and how we only lost them by a combined total of a few points. That is obviously a coaching problem and a discpline problem from costly penalties that keep drives alive.

I'm sorry...I just expected more out of this season.
There have been way too many of these threads after we lose yet again to quality teams and choke down the stretch.
The season is certainly still not over, but I thought we'd at least go .500 against the good teams and find a way to scrape a couple of close wins together.
I imagine there will be another one of these "we hung with a very good team!" threads if we lose a couple more, but I'm done with moral victories...this team has to put up or shut up.

Almost is not good enough, and losing sucks no matter how close you were to winning.
There is still no reason to feel like the Ravens will not win the next one when it is reall only one or two plays away. Makable plays too, not extrodinary type talent plays.
We know we can play, O, D and special teams, protect the football and take it away, but for some reason we have only seen all phases play well at the same time once.
The difference in teams like the Ravens and teams like Indy and NE (other than getting a lot of calls) is finding a way to make that one more play in the clutch no matter what else happened before that.
This time, Flacco tossed one away when a run and yet another FG would have been just fine, and Reed ridiculously tossed away any last chance like Vunny Testaverde. Next time we make that play. It has been something different every time just about, but hte Ravens have found a lot of ways to lose close games, but have at least looked pretty good most of the time along the way.
The Steelers have been a lot more beatbale this year than any of the other good teams that have beat us. Nothing would solve the problems of 5-5 than beating the Steelers, going to 6-5 and back in full contention for a wild card chase.
The best news of the day was the comp for those wild cards is not nearly as tough as the teams we have already played, and other than a lot of hurt feelings and a few role players, the Ravens are still in pretty good shape compared to the rest of the NFL in terms of injuries and depth.
The tackles played very well, but the interior 3 that was very solid last year has been suddenly suspect this season. I think it may be time to see Marshal Yanda in the middle somewhere and maybe move Chester back to the TE/ swing T position and dust off the unbalanced big formation and move some people off the line at teh point of attack for a change.
I am a little sick of watching the Ravens come out in shotgun formations in short yardage situations and no Tb behind 33 in those 3rd and short formations. Cam has been creative and fantastic by comparison to previos playcallers, but recently seems to have fallen into the same paradyme, paralised inside the parameters of the profile of predictiblity.
All we have to do is crush the Steelers while they are down in our own stadium and the tables will turn.
