Have the Officials been announced yet for the game?

We all know Manning gets some special treatment as well, although he doesn"t get hit as much because he falls to the ground in the face of a blitzing LB or any other untouched rusher.

So whats the word on this guy?
I have never heard anything bad about him, but I have never heard anything good either. What are his tendacies and calls like.

EDIT: Well I just watched the replay from the OAK vs SD game (Louis Murphy touchdown called incomplete after review) looks like a TD to me. I though the ground rule only came into effect on an immediate tackle.

Ex: The WR/RB catches the ball and does not establish himself (2 feet) and is tackled immediately and loses control of the ball when he hits the ground ball first (arm, hand, etc) and the knees are not down (like a diving catch with knees off the ground and losing possession when the ball, hand or arm hit). Murphy clearly had possession took 3 steps, his glutamis maximus hits the ground with possession still and he rolls over and the ball hits pops out and it's a drop. With both feet down and the glutamis maximus hitting the ground, he is considered down at that point. So therefore the player is down prior to the ball hitting the ground and poping loose. If I am wrong please correct me. I know he has to maintain possesion through the catch, but through the catch is considered when you are ruled down and there was clearly no bobble until the ball hits.

He falls into that special QB invisible policy. He doesn't get hit thought so you don't see the calls, youhave to get hit to see calls for roughing the passer. You can't sit here and tell me that if Manning was hit like Flacco has been this year, Late Hits, High Lowed, etc that it will not be called. He is good at getting rid of the ball so he doesn't get hit much but if he did you know that he would be protected just like lady Brady. I have seen Manning rally for calls and get borderline calls.

His lack of being hit is a testament to their O line and his ability to scramble. Manning was known at Tennessee for his scrambling abilities, never mind what he has done in the pros. He is one of the least sacked QB in the league this year, 3rd behind Brady and Brees.

Is that a black helicopter I see over your shoulder?

I'm not disagreeing with you, I totally agree, i'm not saying Manning sucks, I hate playing them because if they a clicking they can run the table real quick, but Manning would fall into that category if Hit like Flacco has been but has not got the calls.

The Colts may get questionable team calls (phantom PI's stick out in my mind this year) but I dont think I have seen Peyton get any special treatment with the refs for roughing the passer. The guy usually has a quick ass release that we dont even get a hit on him,

Hs O-line gets away with some not so phantom holding:eyes:

Hmmm, I'm going to have to disagree that he avoids sacks with his scrambling ability. I think it much more a function of him rarely holding onto to the ball too long, waiting for something to develop.

Here's some background on Cheffers. He doesn't appear to be as ticky-tacky as say Ron Winter but not the "let the play" approach that last week's crew headed by Gene Steratore practices...

Fair enough. So it's a pick your poison.

According to the Sun, Cheffers' crew has called the least amount of pass interference penalties this season of any crew in the league (5 in 15 games). Most popular call with this crew is holding.

Holding!

That should be good for us, our O-Line plays pretty good technique and our DL gets held a lot and it don't get called.
