I think we can all agree on who the WR's are that project as possible #1 WR going forward and will go in the 1st round to early 2nd. Bryant, Thomas, Lafell, Benn, Tate, and Williams. Rank them in order of your favorite and who best fits our team and why. Just curious to see what you guys think, i'll start.....

1. Bryant-Best in this class, wont be around at 25, flashes brilliance, inconsistent at times but what college WR isnt

2. Lafell-Bowe clone, i think he is a little more advanced as a route runner at this point. good after the catch, tough to bring down.

2A. Thomas- Alot like Lafell, lot of unknowns because of the offense he played in. Im anxious awaiting his combine performance. His potential is undeniable

4. Tate- best hands in the class, former HB that is very good after the catches, reminds me of a more advanced Percy Harvin but not quite the same explosiveness

5. Williams- Him and Tate are my favorite WR's in this class but i admit the other guys make more sense for our team. He's the best route runner in this class and he is underrated after the catch. I think he's a faster Reggie Wayne

6. Benn- The most gifted physically in this class, people question his hands but they seem fine to me. Shaky qb play his whole time at Illinois, could be a wildcard

Baring a stud from another position falling into the 25th spot (highly unlikely, but Oz will always pick best player available), I think it's pretty much a lock the Ravens are targeting LaFell.

And they should. Tough, physical receiver who, unlike Clayton, does not suffer from AAS (Alligator Arm Syndrome).

I would take a serious look at Jordan Shipley as well. I may be biased since the Horns became my adoptive team, but he has all the markings of a Welker clone. I would LOVE to have him picked up if we managed to grab a trade with a larger, more physical WR this off season.

Then again, this all assumes we will not grab a stud WR via trade. If that's the case, a CB or pass rusher will get snagged, IMO.

Can't rank them, haven't really seen some

Have seen Lafell, I'll say he is good, but there was something that just didn't impress me. Hard to say exactly what, somewhere in the area of maybe disappearing when he should have been stepping up, maybe just poor QB/WR connecting, maybe only good on certain routes and didn't appear to be good at the whole tree, I don't really know, but I have concerns there.

Golden I like, in some ways reminds me a little of Art Monk, except Monk was 4" taller, I'd hope for a taller WR, am tired of short ones (and tall ones with bad hands). I wouldn't scream if we took him but maybe 5'11"?

I pretty much agree with that ranking only would have Thomas 2, Tate 4 and the last guy I would take at 25 from the list.

The hard part is blending the WR list into the big board and then slotting the big baord with the right value pick.

Clayton doesn't suffer from AAS so much as he does from SHS* (Stone Hands Syndrome).

* Could also be BFS (ButterFinger Syndrome)

I've never heard Clayton being accused of having alligator arms. Or even butter fingers for that matter, he missed one big catch this year. Mason missed a few big catches as well, all WR's drop some.

If you want to criticize Clayton criticize him for not being physical and not getting open.

I agree. Clayton's problem isn't either AAS or SHS, he is a magician plain and simple. Who's better at disappearing? We need just one or two threats to open up this can of offense. I think we can easily become a offensive machine like the Saints. Remember early in the year, you couldn't tell who was the go to guy on the offense and defenses had fits playing us. That is when Kelly Washington was even scoring TD's. We are hoping to get some of that back next year.

Perhaps he just suffers from SAS. Sucks Ass Syndrome.

I think Thomas is the 2nd best reciever in the draft after watching youtube highlights on most everyone.
