Who makes these bonehead hiring decisions? We have a guy doing our "Ravens Insider" column who just outed himself as a lifelong Browns fan. Are you serious?
Are there really no Writers/Radio guys who grew up in Baltimore...or even the entire state, who are capable of writing a column or doing a show every now and then?
Ron Fritz...Browns fan
Anita Marks...Miami fan
Ron Burgandy...Steeler fan
Jim Hunter...Yankees fan
And we all remember Laura Vecsey.

This is what you get from a Chicago-based news company that gives two shits about Baltimore.
They do have Preston, though. :grbac:

I have actually been using MASN's site more often lately, especially for coverage on the O's. Roch is very good, and Kolko isn't bad.

Don't forget Mark Zinno, who is a Colts fan...
Suprisingly, I actually agree with Preston's column today...

Let's not make this Stallworth signing anything it's not. We need receiver help...BADLY. So badly, we need to start considering extreme cases, like Stallworth who has been out of football for a year and obviously comes cheaper with his DUI manslaughter incident. If we had a better than average WR corps...hell, a better than average WR tandem of starters, we probably don't make this move. We need to take some gambles and Stallworth appears to be atoning for his mistakes, so what do we have to lose by giving him a one year, low ball contract? At worst, he fails to come back to his previous self and we've wasted about a million dollars on someone we're hopefully not counting on to be a #1 guy. To give you perspective, Mark Clayton earned about as much this past year as we're paying Stallworth for this year. At the end of the day, this move just gives us another body who we can hope will complement Derrick Mason.
Reading Fritz's column, he's bashing us saying that Stallworth isn't help. Umm, except for his one year with Cleveland (and come on, who has thrived in Cleveland's offense at WR? Braylon was always second rate there and KW2 was just okay), his numbers from Philly and NE are something we'd KILL to have on this team (No pun intended...)

I believe that it is Jeremy Conn who is a Baltimore guy who roots for Indiannapolis which says alot.....
Zinno is just an obnoxious, jerk from NY who doesn't know much about football although he thinks he does and acts as Ron Burgandy's (a Steeler fan) hand puppet.

Who said Jim Hunter was a Yankee fan? The guy seems to be the biggest orange Kool-Aid drinker around.

Aint that the truth.
I think he believes the O's won the division last year.
At least that's what one would think if they listened to him.

That's why I asked. I'm not a fan of the guy but I don't think in any way he's a Steeler fan.
Why is the OP posting this stuff without any attribution or links?

I've heard him talk at length about how his Dad is a huge Steelers fan, but in the same breath he usually says something about how he dislikes them and is a Baltimore guy. I'm not much of a Bruce fan, but he's no Steelers fan.

Not hard to switch allegences when the guy that is signing your paycheck forces you to switch.
If I'm wrong, I apologize, but I'm pretty sure I read about Hunter and at one point on Bruce's show, he mentioned that he was a Steeler fan growing up in the tidewater area in VA.

Ive heard Bruce say on his show that he grew up a Steeler fan and was a steeler fan until 1996 when the Ravens made there first trip to shitsburgh and the fans were throwing things at the team bus he was traveling on and he said that the steeler fans made him stop likeing the team because of how they acted. But now he is a Ravens fan.

I attribute part of that to him seeing what happens to someone who speaks the truth (Jon Miller).
Call it his idea of what his job security really has to have. I tend to doubt that deep down he really believes it enough to bet anything major.

Look, anyone who is familiar with my posts knows that I think Cunningham is a total poser and a douche. But in his defense here if I've heard him say he hates the Steelers once I've heard it a gzillioin times. So he's off the hook in my book.
You can't blame the on air "talent" for being on the air and collecting a pay check. You have to blame the program manager Dave LaBrozzi who just doesn't get it. And his boss Tom or Bob or something Phillips would sell the house he bought his mother and put her out on the street if he could make a profit.
I digress.
But back to that on air line-up
Ed Norris is from New York and a Yankees fan
Mark Viviano is from St. Louis and a Cardinals fan
Bruce Cunningham is from Virginia and is a Motown fan
Scott Garceau is from Michigan and is a Packers fan
Mark Zinno is from Long Island and is a Yankees fan
Jeremy Conn is from Baltimore and is a Colts fan
They bring on a guy who sells steaks (Sedegi dude) and expect him to provide insight to fans who have forgotten more about sports than his skirt-chasing money flaunting mushroom saute-ing self will ever know.
Let's face it, the station sucks but unless you have Sirius radio, there aren't many other decent options.
And for what it's worth I have been told that LaBrozzi is from Pittsburgh and he is a Steelers fan. Maybe it's a conspiracy just to piss us all off!

Its pretty hard to believe that a guy who said his family were all Steeler fans and he grew up and was a Steeler fan all of a sudden (when he is working in the Baltimore market) decides to no longer be a Steeler fan because some fans threw some things at a bus.

You are right about Jim Hunter. I talked to him at the Ravens- Colts game in 08.. you know the one with the monsoon, as we had a lot of time at the bar instead of our seats, and he is a jersey born and reared Yankee's fan. ... Hired here to work for the O's. A paid O's fan, if you will. You see, it IS as Nestor says, If you work for the O's you may NOT say even one disparaging word about the O's... form his mouth to my ears. It was the week before the December baseball meetings, to which he was headed... by the way he told me then he thought the O's would sign Izturis... and he was right.

I hear now that 105.7 the Fan is considering Jenn Royal to replace Anita. She covers the Yankees and Mets for XM Radio and is a knob slobber for the Yankees. 105.7 has become a joke. How can they be "The Fan" when very few of them are even Ravens or Orioles fans?
What's next? Cunningham comes out of the closet and actually admits he is a Steelers fan?
Or maybe the beast below takes the place of Anita...

I've heard her a few times on 105.7. If you are a Yankee fan this is great news, she's a big time NY knob slobber.

From what I heard of Jenn Royal the other day when she was on I will stop tuning in if they hire her. At least Anita had a personality. I had to turn the station.
Jeremy Conn is a Colts fam but he does know the Ravens very well and doesn't bash them. I don't have a problem with him at all since he is knows what he is talking about.
Zinno also defends the Ravens although his "NY" attitude annoys me often.
I have always been a Nestor fan. Say what you want about him but he has been extremely nice to me the dozen or so times I have run into him at home games (he sits in my section) and at his parties for away games including the playoffs. He is as Baltimore as it gets which I love.

:iagree:
Nestor & his woman have always been fun to hang out with on Bourbon Street and other away game locales. His blood has to be colored orange in the Summer and purple in the Fall. You can knock his low powered radio station, but give him credit for the balls to get into that enterprise. Maybe his "Free the Birds" campaign fizzled, but give him credit for trying to send a message to Angelos.
The only complaint I have with Nestor is that his allowing that Drew character to go on the air with his KKK remarks about us. Nestor should have fired him.
