Congratulations, Terps, on your ACC regular season championship! It was close there in Wahooville, but you guys prevailed!

Hells Yeah! The Terps get to hang a banner for the 2009-2010 Regular Season Championship.

Now if UNC can upset Duke, the Terps can be the sole owns of the championship.

I think they can. UNC has more talent up front. If Duke does not hit a good % of the 3s, UNC should be able to knock them off. They have not stunk nearly as much recently.

Gary is the man. I wish he would recruit more big guys like Williams so he does not have to play a 3 like Milbourne at the 4 spot, but the man is a great game day coach. Maybe the best out there by a mile. All the other contenders have had twice the talent.

AMEN! Gary is a HOF coach, and his record has proven that.

I believe it's a split regular season championship as Duke is beating the tar out of Carolina. Regular season doesn't mean much, but the Terps weren't expected to do much so they should be proud of their season. Let's see what they do in the big dance...

Regular season doesn't mean much, ...

It means they get to hang another regular season championship banner from the gymnasium ceiling! I'm sure it means something special to the players who have busted their derriers all year to get to this point. ACC regular season champions - I like it!!!

Probably not. They understand that being the national Champion is all that really matters.

Of course; but being champions of their conference is also something special to these guys, something they will remember when they're old and grey.

Ok, I think we're going to have to agree to disagree on this one.

Of course it means something. The Terps haven't won the ACC regular season since the 2001-2002 season. They hang a banner at Comcast for that.

My wife and I just got back from Charlottesville. There were plenty of Terps fans and it sounded good. Of course, the UVA fans let us have it as the last 1:36 clicked down. That was close.

Congrats Terps !!

In the Pantheon of Maryland sports coaches, Gary Williams is Zeus.

NOBODY gets more out of less and NOBODY has given more blood, SWEAT and tears than Gary has over the years:respect:worthy:.

Your nuts if you don't think this means something to them. They were picked to be in 5th place this yer. They had to beat Duke and go on the road to UVA where they have not won in 4 years. Yes the Dance is the ultimate glory, but I know the school and team are very happy they can claim that title.

Vasquez named All-ACC first team and Jordan Williams ACC All-Rookie team.

They name the ACC player of the year and coach of the year today. If Vasquez doesn't win over Scheyer then that will be a travesty. Vasquez is averaging better numbers than Scheyer and had better numbers than him in the head-to-head matchup last Wednesday. Gary also has a very good shot at coach of the year. From 7-9 to 13-3 in the conference and a share of the regular season title is a huge turnaround and should get Gary the award.

Not only did Vasquez have better stats he is on a team with less talent.

Terps had 1 guy on the All ACC teams in a whole and one on the Rook team.
Duke had 2 guys on first team alone and another 2-3 on 2nd and 3rd team.

Scheyer had way more talent around him to play with ultimatley letting him get better looks and get open easier and not feel the pressure of the game is on his shoulders.
Vasquez did not have the talent around him, got double teamed and always had the weight of the game on his shoulders but still shows up in clutch situations.
Vasquez is single handedly the better player and deserves the award.

All very true. Let's just hope that Duke Vitale doesn't have a vote, or General Greivis is done for.
