Per Pro Football Talk (http://profootballtalk.nbcsports.com/2010/04/10/sources-santonio-holmes-facing-four-game-suspension/):

Multiple sources have advised us that receiver Santonio Holmes is facing a four-game suspension under the league's substance-abuse policy.

........ a four-game suspension comes after multiple violations. The fact that Holmes, the MVP of Super Bowl XLIII, is facing a four-game suspension means that Holmes previously has paid a fine in the amount of three seventeenths of his base salary (i.e., three game checks).

Though we're not aware of the specific identity of the substance involved, Holmes has a history with marijuana.

This is almost comical. After all the mud-slinging that we've been taken from the toothless yinzers ever since Ray's incident, now the NFL's worst fans will have to eat crow.

If its true, and we play them on MNF anytime soon. I have a great sign to use.

Expect
Santonio to be
Positive for
Narcotics

Agreed. Especially when considering quotes like this...

"We have a very high concern about our image and how we conduct ourselves that I think is above and beyond our peers, and we embrace that."

Credit to the Steelers for being smart and taking the loss to trade him ahead of the announcement.

We're bashing them for trading Holmes for a 5th round pick, but if this had come out BEFORE they traded him? He'd probably be cut because the whole league would realize the Steelers were done with him and would probably cut him anyway.
