Kevin Acee, of the San Diego Union-Tribune, reports the San Diego Chargers have tendered RB Michael Turner, a restricted free agent, with a one-year, $2.35 million tender. Turner can negotiate with other teams but the Chargers would have the ability to match any offer. If they chose not to match, they would receive a first-round and third-round pick as compensation for him from the other squad.

IMO, no one would think to offer a 1 and a 3 for a guy selected 3 years ago in the 5th round who hasn't proven himself as an every down back. This move protects the Chargers from a team like the Ravens throwing an offer at Turner that the Chargers don't match leaving them with only the No. 29 overall pick as compensation when Turner might get them a better pick from another club.

Sound move by their FO. For a relatively small investment they are assured (a) he stays or (b) he gets traded on *their* terms.

I don't think Ozzie will ever give up a first round pick ever again. Ever. For anyone, period.

Agreed. We can forget about this guy. He's basically off the market now.

He will probably make a ton of money next year in FA. Him and Matt Schaub.
