John Clayton just said so on ESPN.

DirtyBirds overpaid, they gave him 6 years 18 million. Hes not worth that.

Yeah, but I still wanted to keep him for us...

damn, another hit... I don't think I like the off season anymore.

Oh wait I never liked it.

Look on the brightside, we should get a boat load of comp picks for the 2008 draft.

Every years seems like this to Ravens fans.

We will find our new guys, and Im willing to bet that they are as good as or better than the players they will replace.

Damn, I was holding out hope for Ovie to return.

Now I'm hoping we don't bring back Jamal. He needs a power fullback to be effective, and Justin Green... isn't. Can we please draft a slasher-back and pair him with Mike Anderson?

Damn, I hate losing young Ravens.

Get used to it. When you draft like we do you can't give 4th,5th,6th rd picks big raises when they get to Free Agency. Not if you want to keep the Heap's and Reed's.

OK so the Falcons aren't gonna re-sign Justin Griffith this'd mean. I'll take Griffith, love Ovie but I really really like Griffith and he's played at the level Ovie has for longer, he'd be a very very useful replacement and should come cheaper.

Agreed, I see Griffiths as an upgrade.

Bleh. This sucks. Usually we are pretty good about re-signing our own. I'm not going to cry over losing a fullback, but Ovie actually turned into a decent player.

As to his contract, although it is probably weighted (less up front salary + more later), it averages a little more than $3MM a year for 6 years. The dollar amount seems a little high, but it is the length of the contract that surprises me. If I were a team I wouldn't have gone over 5 years.

I wanted him to stay but yeah they paid way too much money. It may come back to hurt the Falcons in the future.

Like I said salaries in the NFL are out of control.

That's too much cake for OM. I'm glad the Ravens let him fly south.

Ovie should be careful about going to Atlanta, its bad voodoo for Ravens.

Ray's troubles were in Atlanta, Jamal got busted in Atlanta, Hartwell went there and played 13 games in 2 years.
