This is the writing on the wall, I think it's a done deal if everything can be trusted.

If so, McGahee to Balt will be announced very shortly. Rumored 2nd round pick, but only heard that from Sirius radio.....

edit: alleged sirius report of a second round pick is being strongly denied

Interesting how fast this happened...and rumors out of cleveland have jamal signing with the Browns very soon.

I don't like giving up a 2nd rounder. The 3rd is one thing, but a 2nd is a little much.

good news:

sirius is denying the comment and everyone is backing off the statements about a second round pick.

Having Brown sign pretty clearly indicates McGahee will be dealt and the remaining sources indicate that will most probably be the Ravens

Now that Jamal Lewis is gone, the Ravens will really have no reason not to do the deal.

I gotta think it's a done deal.

Why would the Bills announce the Brown signing if they didn't already have a deal in place to move McGahee?

And yea, things move quickly sometimes.

Second fracking round? Grand theft. A 4th, tops, and I still don't like it.
We'd be better off going with Anderson and P.J. and grabbing someone like Lorenzo Booker around the third round. Need for speed and elusiveness, you know.

I hope this report turns out to be poo poo.

In the last 1 hr in 5 minutes so much occured between three teams. But I am pumped for McGahee. J.O. Better Stay Now. Im just worried about the Cap espically guranteed money, i dont wanna here him start complaining.

If this does indeed go down, you are going to get really tired really soon, of hearing the name Drew Rosenhaus.

Hopefully we won't trade a 2nd.. I think it's going to be a 3rd if it happens considering we have no 4th to trade (mcnair trade).

It's funny, but Rosenhaus barks alot but teams don't mind dealing with him.

The TO thing was TO.

The Postons and that guy Barnes are real pains in the ass.

I'm guessing there's more than one deal in place. One deal with the Bills and one with McGahee, the one with McGahee being conditional on the execution of the one with the Bills. So there would not be a time between the deal with the Bills and the negotiation with McGahee. ER or UK or someone pipe up please if that kind of thing isn't done, but I don't see why not.

This should be great news for us. I'm excited to have a running game, and one that better suits the passing team we've become.

With a running back like McGahee, I think we'd be looking at a lot fewer I-formations, the loss of Ovie Mughelli should be felt a little lighter.

Exactly. Rosenhaus is more bark than bite. He justs makes himself more visable than a lot of agents. The Postons are by far the worst in the NFL; they are a rare combination of stupid and arrogant.

The worst agent in all sports to deal with is Scott Boras from MLB. He rapes teams.

Disapointed to see #31 go but jacked to see McGahee. That kid is a stud just entering his prime. Definite upgrade at RB.

I havent heard anything, but after re-signing Musa and the MccGahee deal, I would not be surprised to see Mike Anderson hitting the pavement before we know it. There has to be some reason he got crap for carries and we get a #1 feature back via trade this off-season.

I am NOT interested in giving up a 2nd round pick for McGahee. I love McGahee, but Buffalo doesn't deserve a 2nd rd pick for him; his production doesn't warrant a 2nd rounder, and I think Buffalo isn't in any position (since they really want to drop him) to require a 2nd rounder.

I'm fine with giving them a 3rd rounder and maybe a conditional 5th for 2008, but NOT a 2nd. 2nd round picks are way to valuable; if it takes a 2nd, I'd rather not take Willis at all.

I tell you what.

I've never seen so much love for the 61st overall pick in the draft.

Patrick Johnson was a 2nd rounder.

Thank you. The voice of reason.

Name a running back left when pick #61 comes around that will be better than Willis Magahee, and I'll laugh at you.

I love the fact that people think these draft picks are worth more than they are. We need a RB. Getting Magahee with a 2nd or 3rd would be a steal.

Think of it like this:

We aren't the only team after McGahee. So you ask why Buff is in a position to require a 2nd rounder when they want to drop him? Because they CAN. Someone will give up a 2nd round pick, whether it is the Ravens, the Packers, Raiders, or some other random team that needs a RB. You don't want to sit on your ass and demand a 3rd round pick when some other team comes in and swipes him away for a 2nd.

And like Poe said, who the hell do you get that is better than he is at 61?

I heard that most likley it will be:

A 2nd this year
or
A 3rd this year and a 5th or 6th next year

I am okay with a 2nd, or a 3rd this year and 5th next year. A 2nd and 5th is highway robbery. We need those picks to upgrade our O-Line b/c without that McGahee will be just as ineffective as Jamal was the last two years.

Brown and Dillon visiting Buffalo though.

Wouldn't surprise me to see them get two draft picks out of us, since we're tight against the cap. Ozzie might be keeping the number of rookies to a minimum and avoid having to come up with cap space to sign them all. Not sure I agree with the logic, but I can understand it. I still hope we get this done for less than a second. Even a late second is too much here. We could get by with a lesser RB like MA or Musa.

I’m still hoping for 3rd – we do need some picks – but I do see a sense of logic with the whole less rookies less money spent idea…
It sure seems to be a heck of an offseason and we have just begun.

But I for one think Willis would be a great addition to the team and we will be better off. The option of making runs without the NEED of a FB in position opens us up for a heck of a lot more plays. Now if Steve can get a little more arm strength this offseason…

You know who else was drafted in the 2nd round in recent years? Anquan Boldin, Bob Sanders, and Maurice Drew, to name a few. Frank Gore was also a 3rd round pick 2 years ago.

I like McGahee, I'm just not so sure I've seen enough from him to give up a 2nd rounder. I won't be very distraught if the Ravens DO give up a 2nd and a 5th, but I'm not so sure I would do the same. Then again, I'm just a fan.

I'll tell you what.

I think a Kenny Irons or a Michael Bush in the 2nd round have the potential to put up the SAME, if not BETTER numbers than McGahee in the next 4 years. They'll also cost a HELL of a lot less.

Don't get me wrong, I'm as excited about McGahee as anyone; I really am. I'm just unsure about giving up a 2nd round pick and a huge contract for a RB when we have an O-line that needs to be seriously addressed; also, I believe that good RB's aren't very hard to come by in the draft.

Either way, I'm not losing sleep over it.
