At least the Browns won't have to worry about him beating them this year....
Thanks for the memories Jamal.....it was time to move on.

PP, sorry, your's got lost.....I tried to merge it with mine and another Mod was doing some things with the same threads at the same time and neither of us knew it...so, it got messed up somehow.

Hmmm, this is an interesting development. This changes the draft; and I wouldn't be surprised if Cleveland traded down and collected more picks. They need it.
As for Jamal, I appreciate all you did for us. The superbowl and the way you ran in '03 were great times. I hope Cleveland is paying you well. One bit of advice, try not to get an open wound, otherwise watch out for staph infections.
The Browns will ultimately regret this signing. But of course, that is why they are the Browns.

O, I don't care.
It was just weird that 2 were up and then 1 disappeared and the other was locked!

Not if Jamal's deal is for just one year.
If they pass on Peterson because of this signing, it will haunt them for a long, long time.

they'll do poorly again this year and draft Rice or McFadden!! :rolling: :rolling:

Damn that sucks. I still think Jamal has another big year in him. Probably not behind Clevo's line though. I was hoping to root for him in GB or somewhere else. Not happening now.

Jamal who?
Oh, that guy.
Saying goodbye to him and Ed in the same week is a stark reminder of how forgettable Jamal is. I'm glad for what he contributed on the field, but as far as I could tell, he was nowhere in the community, nowhere with the press, nowhere as a leader in the locker room, nowhere as a team player in the locker room, so, in a nutshell:
'bye.

I know this had to happen someday, but it still makes me sad:( I hate this part of the business. Thanks Jamal, for all you've done for us!:patriot:

Having Jamal in this division and not wearing purple is a BAD thing. Mark my words. I was ready to watch him behind Favre. I have a feeling I would have enjoyed those games more.
Anyway, Thanks #31.
Edit: Agreed Drk, Losing #64 was crushing! My absolute favorite Raven.

Its gonna be strange seeing Jamal in a Brown uniform this year. I'm excited seeing him try to run against us. I hope he doesn't want his 30+ carries those 2 weeks. Definately gonna miss him though. He was one of my favorites, Ring of Honor guy. Can't wait to see Ray Lewis meeting Jamal Lewis at the line of scrimmage. Classic football.

Haha, wow. I hadnt yet even thought about Jamal vs Ray in 2007.

The Plain Dealer reports:
Lewis and the Browns reached a one-year deal Wednesday night in a transaction that was as swift as it was stunning. It might have a profound impact on Reuben Droughns' future, but might not alter the Browns' draft plans.
Droughns is due a $1.75¤million roster bonus on March¤17. He also is due a $1.25¤million base salary, which means he is a $3¤million player if the Browns keep him.
That might have been the figure that Lewis agreed to. He had a standing offer of between $1.5¤million and $2¤million on the table from the Ravens.

Ahhhhhhhhhhh. Sigh of contentment. Only one more and we are finally Lewis-free. Poor Jamal. I'm sure cigarettes are more expensive in Ohio. I'm not sure about crack. Thank you, Phil.

ESPN is funny. THe past two or three years Jamal was washed up and all of a sudden he is a major headline. Guess it's all relative:)

We will see how good he is against our D?
If he runs for 100+ or even 285! then we made a mistake.
If not, can he run at all?

Ray Lewis vs. Jamal Lewis. What a headline. My money is on Ray.

We took the risk on a previously injured player and paid him well!
Rembemer this guy 'left yards on the field' - he still owes us for that.
Then he takes the $$$'s from the Savage Clowns.
The team stood by him - I hope Ray stuff's his fist down his throat

Me, too. I had a feeling Jamal was leaving, but Ed was a move I didn't see coming..... :(

It was connected. If Jamal had just agreed to the deal we put out, the status quo would have been kept.
Now, he's going to set off a domino effect. This are going to have to change in RavensLand. Especially on offense.

I'm curious to see what Browns fans think of this. If they don't get Peterson because they signed Jamal... they might be very sorry.

I wish Jamal well all but two games this season.
The bunch of sunday memories he gave us were great but the last two seasons were painful to watch. He seemed from my seat in the world to be a shadow of his former self as the injuries mounted up and made him an old 27 years.
It won't be the same seeing 31 in another uni but it was time to move on.

Here is an article with some quotes from Jamal.
"The Browns have made some good additions to the offensive line and they are committed to making more," Lewis said. "I think they're going to give me the carries I need. I knew it wasn't going to happen in Baltimore. Their profile seems to be they're wanting to be a passing team."
Lewis said a one-year contract was his idea, but indicated he would like to sign a longer-term deal and "some day retire as a Brown."
His idea?
Sure.

See ya later, Jamal.
Jamal gave us some good years but was a shadow of his old self....although, I will say that he ran well and was underutilized in his last game as a Raven....
