I don't know how to locate it but during the draft I predicted that because of Tebow's commercial against abortion the media would scrutinize everything he does on the football field. I predicted that every INT, Fumble, Incomplete pass and Over throw would be head line news.
What does Tebow have to do with the AFC North?

What exactly did that article have to do with Tebow's anti-abortion ad? Did it occur to you that Raven fans are interested in Tebow because we effectively traded him to the Broncos for roughly half their draft?

Tebow gets mad press prior to commercial.
Tebow makes commercial.
Tebow continues to get mad press.
Yet somehow it's commercial related?
Excuse me while I yawn a lot.

Same reason Kyle Boller is getting mad press because he married the poster-girl for that *sort* of ignorance. Oh wait...he's not getting mad press. Dang, I thought I was working up a good *that sort* of conspiracy theory.

I predict, because you are a simple-minded white evangelist bigot (as you established in your infamous "white running back" thread) that you'll dollop a spoonful of sugar onto all of Tim Tebow's inadequacies.
You're doing the exact same thing as what you accuse the media of doing -- obsessing over a marginal talent for arbitrary off-field reasons.
This is the worst premise for a thread since the last round of Buffalo Bills spam.

What does his anti-abortion stance have to do with anything? Maybe he's getting some attention because he was a highly regarded college player, Orton is a questionable NFL starter, and Quinn sucks.....

That sort of "ignorance" is what happens to run this country and the rest of the civilized world. Sorry that pinkos don't like marriage between a man and woman ... were you all hatched?
What's hysterical is reading so-called enlightened liberals who are in fact more intolerant than the rest of us.

Probably like most here....I can honestly I have never disliked a football player more than Tim Tebow. Watching him fail the other night only brought tears to my eyes. I will tune in to each and every Broncos game just to see this "Real nice, upbeat....kind of kid you want your daughter to marry, spiritual fella" go down in flames. I hope he doesn't get hurt so McDaniels has to justify his high drafting of him and play him every game. He will be back in Juniper Creek with all his wives homeschooling his little flat topped kids within 5 years.

Sorry to talk football in the politics forum... but...
How on earth could you consider Tebow's first actin in the NFL as a failure? He looked a lot better hten Bradford, and looked cionbsiderably better then Troy Smith ever has in hsis three year career...

Yeah, the funniest thing about the initial post is that 90%+ of the press on Tebow after his debut was positive.
Almost everyone said he deserves the nod for the #2 spot over the abysmal Brady Quinn.

Bullshit! I don't normally stoop down to argue with children, liberals, or other mental midgets, but, in this case: please provide me a link where any serious political propaganda was allowed in the Ravens discussions. Unless something fell through the crack (there's not full-time coverage), we've consistently whacked political commentary on the Ravens board. And you know this since you joined the board.
btw: I fully admit to be very biased against commies, Moslem radicals, and their liberal facilitators in the US. I'm very proud of my allegiance to this country and the values which provide the foundation for our strength. Doesn't change how we whack threads and posts. Ask "Air Flacco" about how many of his were completely deleted.

I never discuss politics there except for that Shirley Sherrod joke, which was funny.
Now I had a ton whacked in the political forum.

Oh yea, Galen had this thread moved here because this is where politics is discussed, not the
football forum. You always miss the point.

Wait..what? You are saying he looked better than Bradford? Clausen? Did you watch him play?
Bradford yes, Clausen NO. Notice I didn't mention Clausen.
Yes I watched the whole half, and went into it open minded, not with hate as a goal. He didn't play great and showed some delivery issues as well as a couple poor passes, but the balance of the half, as a first half of NFL football was satisfactory. Had Troy Smith turned in that exact half of football I would have been on the main board touting that maybe he has begun to turn the corner...
And FWIW, I know I once compared how someone was handling a situation in the NFL to our inept president and that thread got whacked.

That was all you saw? You didn't see the nearly UNPRECEDENTED posie from a players first NFL action? Artmstrength, touch and accuracy?

Really UNPRECEDENTED posie? He was going against 3 stringers, most of those guys will be truck drivers in a couple of weeks. He wasn't going against the Ravens or hell even the Steelers starting defense.
He did have bad mechanics. But also made a couple of good throws. All in all I give him a B-. Nothing too special and still has alot of room to grow.

Name me another QB who's first game action included side-stepping a ruish with your head focussed downfield and delivering a ball to a recceiver.
Not unprecedented for a Vet, unprecedented for a rook QB's first action. Do you remember the deer in Headlights that Flacco was? OR Troy still is? Tebow didn't have that. He was strong in the pocket and kept his head focussed downfield.
Sure he has plenty to work on andis still a project, but some of the MAJOR, mostly un-teachable talents are THERE. He has IT, and showed IT in his very first NFL action.
He needs to quicken his delivery, and sit behind Orton for a year, but I doubt he will be a BAD starter. I'm not saying he will be Peyton next year or anything, but his first action showed a bright future for sure.
Bruce Gradkowski was a QB that strangely showed such great poise so early, but I missed his preseason, but I have not seen a rook look that poised otherwise...

He is flaky, home schooled, spoiled, clown. One of those guys with the creepy overlyChristain-stare-right-through-you look. The best was after the SEC title game when he assumed Ingram would be dying to meet him...and he cold shouldered him. Tebow was treated like a clown, because he is one.
The over hype he got made it only worse. I could go on for hours.... Those few brief moments when it was hard to tell if the Ravens drafted him or if we had traded our pick were the worst moments of my life.

Trust me, I agree, it was one half of play, simply saying that it was nothign but an encouraging half for Denver.
I really don't see how he was that overhyped, he was absolutely the best player to ever play the college game.... and he didn't quite get Jordan Fanfare, so what do you expect?
For the record... I am as anti-organized religion as you can get. To me the Bible is a fictional story book, but I have no problem with players thanking god for their skills. At least he is not out there causing trouble like almost every other football player. The culture of the NFL needsa MAJOR change and Tebow might be the guy to usher it in.

Best college football player to play the game? You can't be serious dude. At all.
Was he awesome? Hell yeah. He had a ton of talent around him, too. Check out how long his longest TD run was. He was fullback type playing in an offense that suited him perfectly.
I can think of two QBs from NU alone that I would put above him. Scott Frost and Crouch were doing what he did before it was "cool". Tommie Frazier, too. Compare the stats and NCs.
What about guys like Charlie Ward? Vick? The list could go on and on. And thats just the QBs..not the RBs or other positions.

Hold the SEC TD record.
Won 2 Nat'l championships, lost another cahmpionsip[ game and finished top 10 the 4th...

I agree that he showed more in his first outing than most QBs. I just don't think its really anything to get excited about. I think good mechanics is a HUGE factor in being a successfull QB. After all the talk we heard about Tebow changing his throwing motion and other mechanics, he completely regressed to his college game. It looked good against 3rd and 4th stringers but wont work on Sundays during the regular season
All the more reason he needs to sit a year, maybe two, and refine those mechanics.
It was impressive to see him step up in the pocket and avoid the rush.
I'm also concerned that it may be an one time thing. If he can pull off a similar performance in the 2nd preseason game, I will begin to buy into him.
His accomplishments in college has almost nothing to do with how he will perform in the NFL. Flacco had very little college accomplishments and looked what he's doing now. Compared to, say Matt Leinart. Coming into the NFL he was taunted as a leader and a "winner" (same word that follows Tebow). But you draft a player not a team. Dont get me wrong Tebow was a major reason for Florida's success. But it wasn't like his teammates were scrubs either.
All in all, Tebow has to show me more, to convince me he will a legit starter in this league in 2-3 years time.

I agree with basically everything. He needs a lot more work, his mechanics are poo... but the non-measurables are OFF THE CHART. With his work ethic and demeanor, I think he can and will sit and learn. It's the fact that he has what you can't teach(size, strength, speed quickness, poise, intelligence) yet is humble enough to learn the rest.
He's not there yet, but I buy in. I think he will be average to great as a starting NFL QB, perhaps as early as the year after next.
College has very littel coorelation with pro succes, no doubt about it.
Winning and losing on Saturday in Gainesville has rested HEAVILY on Tebow's shoulders for a few years now, much moreso then any other player in football during that time.

As a true Freshman, in a "backup" role, he was one of the most important players on the field as they won the National Championship...
But here is the real water mark on his play... Had Troy Smith had the exact same half of football, I would have been on the main page trumpeting it as his best effort to date, and admitting that I might have been a bit off, as he would have magically found touh and poise without losing anything else. I would have stated that celarly I was wrong and that maybe he can become a starter one day.

Man you make a prediction and you get called a bigot and everything else. Let me just say this...BAW HAW HAW HAW, like I care what I'm called by a liberal.
Anyway, the whole point is why is Tebow even mentioned on a Ravens site? Where are the stories about the first overall pick? Where are the stories about Crabtree? If Tebow isn't being scrutinized because of what he did then where are the rest of the stories that are irrelevant to the Ravens?
Oh, I made another prediction also. I predicted last year that if Owens had Palmer throwing him the football against the Ravens sorry secondary that he would have 2 TD’s and 100+ yards. It came in a thread about Chad Johnson where I said he sucked and would rather have T.O. over him. I got all kind of grief from people that actually believe that Chad is better than T.O. Well we’re about to find out who the better receiver is. I say it’s T.O. hands down and I’ll predict that T.O. will have double digit Td’s and 1000+ yards to Chad’s 7 Td’s and maybe 1000 yards.

So you don't like him because he was home-schooled and is a Christian? I ask this because I don't think you know him well enough to know whether or not he is spoiled and from what I have read and heard from and about him he doesn't seem "flaky" to me.
