Week 1 - Antwan Barnes
Week 2 - Jason Phillips
Week 3 - Haruki Nakamura

Nakamura has been a beast all preseason, but today he's just been EVERYWHERE

Almost picked one early, then a BEASTLY pick in first half. Lots of QB hits/pressure.

Your nominees?

1. Haruki for sure. He was everywhere. Really impressed with him even when he ended up against a wide receiver.

2. I know he's starter, but this was the first game that I noticed Cory Redding.

3. Phillips, continues to make plays.

Is it just me, our do all of the DL's fighting for the back end of that group look the same... Maybe that is an exageration, but I don't see much seperating these guys and it will be interesting to see what the coaches think.

I can't argue with Haruki

but I did notice Dickson and how the routes reminded me of Heap's offense years ago when the cries of Heeeeep were barely starting.
I won't mistake his catching style for Todd, but I do see a quick glance visual similarity with Pitta/Heap catching, but sure looked to me like Dickson was running his old routes.

I completely forgot to mention Ellerbe. I think he is starting to seperate himself from the rest of the pack at ILB.

I agree but was imressed with Gooden last night. He is not built to take on blocks from Gs,Cs or even FBs on a regular basis but he can fly to the football and hit.

Haruki was also flying around. He moved more like a CB than a saftey. Maybe he should be the starting nickle.

Edgar Jones was also playing like he knew he was on the bubble. I do not know how you can cut that guy.

Marcus Smith looks a lot more physical than the other bubble WRs and he made a nice TD grab, but also showed some pretty inconsistant hands and not much in run after catch ability. the number of snaps he got were a good sign though.

Art Jones finally did something too. He walked his man back so far that Barnes was able to stop and loop inside him to share the sack. It was not vs a starter though.

The LB and DL battles are still too hard for me to sort out. There is not one of them that has shown they can not play, and there is not much seperation between an Talavou, Mckinney Jones, Divens but that is the order I would stack them. Same with the LBs Burgess slightly over Phillips for special teams but I would like to see them both stick around.

I can't argue with any of this. By in large, the Ravens have a lot of depth, so there are going to be some NFL caliber players getting cut by the time the final decisions are made. I'd love to see some of these "fringe" players get bundled up in a trade, but that is easier said than done.
