View Full Version : In better news, lets give it up for our defense...secondary in particular

Well, we shut down the Jets last week and well, we heard how it was because the Jets offense was among the worse in the league. Well, the Jets just ran up 330+ yards of offense on the Pats...including 220+ in the air. Something they supposedly couldn't do and why our secondary wasn't tested last week.

Today was supposed to be the day where we played a real QB with a lot of weapons and he was supposed to pick our "lame" secondary apart. Well, Carson completed less than 50% of his passes, no TD's and 160 yards in the air. And this was despite Mattison channeling his poor man's Rex and dialing up all out blitzes (which were picked up with almost rediculous ease) and being left on an island out there.

Our secondary is going to be ok people. And nice to see we manned up after a rough start and slowed down Benson. Too bad the refs made 2 of the worse calls of the year that gave them their 6 points...the margin of victory.

The Ravens will own the #1 defense and the #1 PASS DEFENSE after the conclusion of Week 2. This after playing 2 solid teams on the road.

Without Ed Reed. Or Cody.

I think the D will be okay.

I've been pleasently surprised with our defense, not just the secondary.

We still have some starters coming back off of injury/suspensions so they'll only continue to improve with added depth.

The defense and secondary I'm not worried about. Its the offense inability to score points to worries me.

The Ravens continue to be a Defensive team until further notice or until the offense can put more than 10 points on the board.

Can all this talk about the secondary being are weak link finally be put to rest?

Change of the guard talk again this year, I don't think so, unless evrything the team is doing is flipped from last year.
Last year we started kind of bad in the secondary and put up points with O, and the tide changed after the bye week, the D rejoined the elite status and O went back to average.

Now this year the D is booming and the O is just HORRIBLE...
Only time will tell.
