Um, make that incandescent light bulbs.
This is definitely too much interference into our private lives telling us
what we can't and can do. In 4 years we will have to buy insurance we
may not want, in 2 years we won't be able to buy certain light bulbs.
Furthermore, after that all light bulbs will be under 100 watts.
The environmentalists are behind that and those light bulbs will
be made in China.
What will it be next - no flat screen Plasma TVs, air conditioners?
It's all about global warming while the earth is in a cooling off period.

By 2012, by order of the government, Americans will no longer be able to purchase any incandescent light bulbs. Why? Because Congress banned them, citing the need to reduce greenhouse gas emissions that cause global warming that isn't happening

But what about the "true patriots" liberty to be gluttonous? I mean, c'mon...thats real America! These arguments might be my favorites of all conservative points..."let me eat my fatty foods so I can be so obese I need to buy a 8 mpg tacky-ass escalade so I can fit in it and show the country that "I've made it'! Simple bliss.

And what you'll never get is thats its about having the "choice" to buy the "tacky-ass escalade". You or I can't decide what makes people happy; only a truly free people can make that decision.

I'd love to use LED lighting and as you mentioned, the free market will respond accordingly with cheaper LED's.
