Yesterday I blogged with Mike Bambach of USA Today. Here is that blog: SAVE THEIR BALTIMORE COLTS (http://blogs.usatoday.com/sportsscope/2007/03/save_their_balt.html) Your participation in this blog will help to keep this topic active on a national level and in order to be successful, support outside of Baltimore is critical.
Also here on 24x7 I have posted the entire interview with USA Today: USA Today Reaches out to 24x7 (http://www.profootball24x7.com/column_view.php?cid=11&id=1230&view=archive)
I'm sorry for some of the redundancy on this topic. I'm simply hoping that my level of civic pride on this topic is embraced by some of you.

Good work Tony!! Letting the nation know where Baltimore Colt records/heritage belong is never redundant IMHO.

Get on 60 minutes. That will raise awareness.
But seriously you are doing a great job with this TL! I feel somewhat special to be one of the first 1000 signers in such a huge petition.

I think if you could get some of the old Colt coaches involved, that would be helpful as well. For example, Don Shula, HOF coach would be ideal, as he was part of the old Colts organization for years. I am sure he would support the cause.

Ok, I am a die hard season tix holder and regular member of this site as well as Nest member.....why is it I have a tsk tsk as my rating....I know I regularly have different opinions than most but, Tsk Tsk....WTF:grbac:
Hmmm. Could be you occasionally post something completely irrelevant to the thread, or even post something suggesting you haven't read any posts before yours?
Just a thought.
What thread is this again?

Speaking of posting, let's get this thread back on track. Can we show some support nationally for our Coltsheritage efforts and participate on the blog posted above? We can do it!

I wonder what the odds are that this will end in a way positive to Baltimore. I signed the petition to basically back the people on this site and older fans in general. The only history I want back is the last few games where the Colts came in and whooped our ass.
This petition, just like the one that Greg initiated a few years ago, will continue to help embarass the NFL about the way they have treated our city's older NFL players and fans. Hopefully, the NFL will wise up and segregate the Baltimore Colts records and the memorabilia in Canton.
I'm sorry that you don't care about Baltimore Colts history. It's sad to see younger fans who don't fully understand and appreciate our football history: without the Colts, there would be no Ravens.
I will also support this cause but it is not because I believe strongly in it, it is because I feel strongly about supporting the fans of this area! Hope that makes sense
Yes -- sorta.

Tony,
Have you tried to get Steve B. in on this? He is a local guy, powerful in the NFL, and an old Baltimore Colt fan.
It's sad to see younger fans who don't fully understand and appreciate our football history: without the Colts, there would be no Ravens.
Hey, Im a younger fan and I fully appreciate what the Colts did for Baltimore. Its hard for a lot of people to put into perspective, but imagine if tommorow the Chiefs were to move from KC to San Antonio, and for Lamar Hunt or Len Dawson to be in the HOF as San Antonio Chiefs.

Tony,
If you want the petition to be recognized nationaly, perhaps you should try a slightly different approach.
To me, the real issue behind this does not have anything to do with Baltimore or the Colts. The thing that really makes the HOF / NFL's misrepresentation of our history so reprehensible is because it is, quite simply, A LIE. Anyone trying to change history, ANY HISTORY, is in fact a liar. If you think about it, people have tried to do this before. Names that come to mind are Stalin, Hitler, and Mao Tse Tung. This goes way beyond the Baltimore Colts. Changing history cannot be tolerated in any shape or form. WTF? :grbac:
People around the country won't care too much about our efforts because it does not affect them. You have to find an angle that "comes home" to them. If you can show them that the HOF is actually perpetuating a lie, and the NFL, by it's inaction, is condoning this lie, i believe you'll get more support nationally.
Folks around the country are already forgetting that the Colts played in Baltimore, especially the young. Case in point is a recent article in a popular magazine that reported Jim O'brien kicked the winning FG in SB V for the Indianapolis Colts. In 70 years or so, when most of us are gone, i'll bet you that prominent publications on NFL history won't even mention the Baltimore Colts. The lie must be stopped now. That is what it really is and that is how it should be presented. Quit being so mamby pamby about it. Not calling a spade a spade is why you can't get through to seemingly well intentioned, yet disillusioned folks like Ravens Nurse and thousands of Generation X'ers out there. If you can't show how it affects THEM, they just won't care.
Read the comments in the petition. Huge numbers of signatores are in a state of disbelief because they don't understand how a lie like this could be tolerated for so long. Everybody hates a liar. It's universal. RUN WITH IT!

Baltimore has my support, unfortunately 14000 names aint gonna cut it. A national effort is nice and all but if you cant bring in the numbers at home how can you expect anyone else outside the city and state to gravitate to this cause. Unfortunately this slip through the cracks long ago and with time, while some do care, most don't.

We are closing in on 26,000. We ask the Ravens' players to reach down for something extra when it counts. Why can't we ask the same of ourselves and each other?
