if Flacco starts off slow against the Browns. It seems that some fans are so fed up with Joe's poor performance that the boo birds might be heard if he doesn't light it up. Personally, I will never boo the team or a specific player unless I feel they are not trying (the 2nd half of the 2007 Colts game was probably the only time I ever booed). I'd hope the fans won't b/c Joe is still young and developing (for that matter, the whole offense is), but I'm not the authority on whether you can boo or abstain from it.
Let's just hope Joe does light it up, and continues his strong performance against them Stillers.

Yes, I'm sure some will if that happens. We are the same fans who cheered when our starting QB was laying in pain on the turf.

If we get down anytime late in the first half and Joe is playing like he did against Cincy, you can bet on it. If the team goes into halftime down, you can bet on it.

Well, I am the authority -- so here are the basic rules of thumb on booing:
any Ravens fan who boos the home team (players), for any reason, is an asshole. That rule even applies to Harper le Bel and Elvis Grbac.
OK to boo coaches, but only for Chicken Little decisions (e.g. Billick killing the clock near mid-field with a minute to go in the half, or punting on 4th + inches inside the opponent's 40)
Refs bad calls, even those that were difficult to call, require immediate Bronx cheers
any appearance in our stadium by Paul Tagliabue or Jimmy "Speedballs" Irsay would require immediate booing and obscene gestures (unless sitting close to children)
any Ravens fan who cheers an injury, especially to our own players, should be drawn & quartered

I hope they introduce the starting defense, because I bet if they announce the offense you will hear some boos before the game even begins.

Only Joe Flacco can influence what the fans do Sunday.
One thing is for sure-- The kid gloves are off and there will be a lot of drunk fans ready to let him have it if he doesn't give the people what they want. :embarassed:

One of the most enjoyable things for me about going to away games is when their home crowd boos their own team. I remember standing up and booing as loud as I ever had at the San Fran game a couple years ago when the home crowd turned on the niners. I think that is about when I took the garlic fry to side of the head.
The moral of that story though is the visitors LOVE a home crowd to boo. As mad as you might be DON'T give the visitors that pleasure because believe me, minus the garlic fry, it is worth the ticket to boo with an opposing team's home crowd.

Nah...the level of frustration over Flacco isn't nearly that bad at this point to cheer an injury.

There is no way that happens Sunday.

Are you freakin' kidding me?
If you're referring to Flacco not doing something to bring on booing I might agree with you.
But after listening to the radio all week, it would surprise me to not hear booing if Flacco has another bad outing.
Edit- now if you're referring to people cheering should Flacco get hurt, then I would also agree.
I was disgusted when they cheered Boller getting hurt, doing that if Flacco got hurt?
Not too sure there's words or feelings in the vocabulary to describe the level of negativity I'd feel towards that.

Here's my rules:
1. You never boo the home team....EVER!
I hope there is not booing in my section because I'd really hate to get into a fight the first game.

Any "fan" that boos our boys, AT THE HOME OPENER, is no fan. I don't boo Ravens, let me find out Baltimore is turnin into Philly. We have a Qb that helped take us to the playoffs two years straight and after 1 bad game, people are callin for the back-up. Wow. Lets just support our team. Go Ravens!

First of all they will introduce Defense for the first game, most likely.
Second, I am not responsible for my actions if this happens. That would be complete and utter bullshit after only 2 games of the freaking season.

Baltimore sports fans are notoriously fickle, make that Maryland sports fans. They boo you one minute then cheer you the next. But it is the nature of the beast.
If you really want to get into the heads of players, coaches and officials DON'T MAKE A SOUND. I remember they tried that at Memorial Stadium after Reggie Jackson joined the Yankees, it lasted about 30 seconds but it was really eerie.
Love 'em, hate 'em...Cheer 'em, boo 'em...they are still OUR team. It's not time for this...:bag:
Do I smell a blowout tomorrow?
